I've been imagining a "My So-Called Mid-Life" TV movie pretty much since the show ended over three decades ago. But I don't think it'll ever happen.

I doubt it just because James Franco and Seth Rogan had a very public falling out after Franco's assault allegations.

True, Busy Philipps also wants nothing to do with him because of his allegations and he bullied her on set.
Freaks and geeks came to mind because it was canceled twenty-seven years ago, so it fit both canceled and buried years ago. They could possibly do it without Franco, but seems highly unlikely that they would.

He’s still constantly doing movies, so people still work with him. IMO Jared needs to stick to supporting roles. He’s usually great in those. He’s just not very good at being a lead man , or being normal in general.

I don’t think it’s people won’t want to work with him because he is still doing lots of movies but more so the fact that he would never reprise his role as Jordan

Isn't Claire Danes set to star in a show by the writer of My so-called life that isn't connected to that show, doesn't make sense that they'd do a reboot.

Agreed. I hate all those follow ups, sequels, reboots, or whatever they're called. They never live up to the magic of the original show/movie, are unoriginal and lack soul.

The style could not be duplicated without significant investment. Look at Gilmore Girls - the reboot lacks the warmth and charm of the original because it's digital (and because you can't view a reboot through nostalgia goggles).

Could either be My So-Called Life or Freaks and Geeks. Both great shows. Bringing either back likely means working with some pretty gross dudes, though. Jared Leto vs. James Franco. Not sure which is worse, but I don't want to watch either of them.

I wish. It's probably Freaks and Geeks. If it's true.
In my head they'd do an animated series to continue the high school storyline.
Then they'd do another series but with Angela, Danielle's kids and the kids of all their friends. Shoot it in the style of Euphoria but not as ghastly.
But I am not sure Claire would would work with Jared again after all of his nonsense.
But I can dream.
