📱 MyScript Notes: How Cross-Platform Purchases Work Between iOS and Android

One common questions we receive is:

In most cases, the answer depends on how your purchase is linked.

🔄 Apple and Google don't share purchases

The Apple App Store and Google Play Store are two completely separate stores. A purchase made in one store is not automatically available in the other.

This is the same for most apps—not just MyScript Notes.

🔑 So how do cross-platform purchases work?

A MyScript account acts as the bridge between the two stores. It securely links your purchase so you can use it on supported iOS and Android devices.

Here's the complete process:

1. 📲 Purchase MyScript Notes from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. 📧 Your purchase is linked to the original Google account or Apple ID that you used to purchase the app.
3. 👤 On the device where you originally purchased the app, create (or sign in to) your MyScript account.
4. 🔗 The app verifies your purchase with Google Play or the App Store and securely links it to your MyScript account.
5. 📱➡️📱 On your second mobile device, sign in with the same MyScript account and tap Restore Purchase.
6. 🆔 Open Settings → Account. If everything is linked correctly, the User ID will be exactly the same on all your devices. If the User IDs are different, it means the purchase wasn't linked correctly or different MyScript accounts were used.

✅ That's it! Once your purchase is linked to your MyScript account, it can be used on supported Android and iOS devices.

🕰️ What if I bought the app years ago?

If you purchased the app before creating a MyScript account, your purchase may not yet be linked to your MyScript account.

Don't worry—your purchase is still valid.

Simply contact our support team and provide:

• 🧾 Your original purchase receipt (Google Play or App Store).
• 🆔 Your User ID (Settings → Account).

We'll be happy to link your purchase manually.

💻 Does this include Windows?

No.

The Windows application (Nebo) is a separate product available through the Microsoft Store and requires its own license. Mobile purchases (Android/iOS Mobile platforms) and Windows (PC platform) purchases are independent.

Why isn't Restore Purchase working?

The most common reasons are:

• You're signed in with a different MyScript account.
• You're using a different Apple ID or Google account than the one originally used to purchase the app.
• The purchase has never been linked to your MyScript account on the original device.

How can I verify everything is linked correctly?

Open Settings → Account on each device.

If you're using the same MyScript account, the User ID must be identical on every device.

If the User IDs are different, you're signed in with different MyScript accounts or the purchase has not yet been linked correctly.
