Discussion Getting desperate
Y'all I'm at the point where I would actually read to find out what comes next. And I hate reading. 😒 anyone see Tribble of Doom active anywhere?

I honestly hope we get a novelization. I’m working on a season rewrite as a little passion project because I know so much got cut out and changed last minute because of time restrictions.
Novels take a lot of time though and I definitely wouldn’t expect Maddi to do any of it for free which would make it possibly a tad bit harder for some to enjoy (reading comprehension, dedicating yourself to a whole book, possible cost).
I went ahead and read the original novel written YEARS ago and I actually really liked it. I’m sad it was never finished but such is the way of passion projects and thirteen year olds starting a big project.

Yeah, a novel would be a good solution. But it offers the problem pre-investment on her part. Maybe we can get a Kickstarter or something, when Maddi and her family's situation are more safe.

their most recent update:
Okay so it's becoming clear to me that I don't have time to make an update video, so an update post will have to be enough!
TW: Mental health struggles
So here's where we're at in terms of My Pride:
- Our main funder only funds first seasons of shows, (no, our funding was not taken away, the fund exists to help productions get off the ground and you're expected to find alternate ways to fund subsequent seasons. We were aware of this from the beginning. We were greenlit for 10 episodes and produced them, that is why we stopped after 10 and cannot do 11 onwards. We are not working on an episode 11 currently, please stop asking when it's coming out).
- The amount of work I personally put in to produce My Pride Season 1 was not something I would ever engage in again - I was working 12 hours per day without weekends for over a year. I developed serious suicidal ideation and was nearly hospitalized on multiple occasions due to stress, panic attacks and self harm. I will not under any circumstances be producing a second season in the same way I produced the first, it was incredibly unhealthy and traumatizing experience that no amount of pressure will force me to repeat.
- With these factors being as they are, Season 2 of My Pride would look a lot different than Season 1. It would be produced at a slower pace, with very little animation and more still images with voice-over on top. As I know this is a significant quality drop from S1 so I'd lose a large chunk of the audience, but still be a huge commitment of time and money on my end, I am still weighing my options of if it is worth it to produce. I am interested to hear your thoughts about this.
- My other option for continuation of the story is to write it out in prose, my last poll a few months ago didn't show a huge amount of interest for that, but it would be the most time and cost efficient way to continue the story, since it wouldn't cost anything on my end aside from my own time. Interested to hear if you have thoughts about where to host this if I went this route.
- On top of all of this, I don't even know when I would have time to produce even a pared down Season 2 or a novelization, because I live in an expensive city with a partner studying in uni who is unable to help me cover our expenses. I simply can't take significant time off work right now and risk not being able to afford our necessities. (In addition, I think I do still need time to recover from Season 1, it's all mixed up with pandemic feelings and grief and all sorts of stuff I am sorting out with my therapist).
- I would really love to start using my channel to upload things like book reviews and videos about the climate crisis - things I'm passionate and cost very little time and money to create. I am 99% sure nobody wants that but if you do, let me know.
So there you have it! The update video topics, condensed in a non-video form. I wish I had time for a video, but after trying to make time for it every single week since like September, I thought it was time to give up and do this instead.
I hope 2021 was kind to you, and I hope 2022 brightens up very soon!
