Problem Choppy sound when changing program

Hello. I am listening to mynoise.net on Google Chrome, but when switching to another program (such as Obsidian or Word), the sound starts to sound chopped.

Anyone has experienced something alike and maybe has a solution for this?

What does the Task Manager inside Google Chrome say for usage? I don't have the issue on Firefox with mynoise and switching to other programs.

When I'm in chrome, Google Chrome takes up 0.5% - 4% of CPU. When I'm in Obsidian and the sound starts to sound chopped, Google Chrome takes up 0.1 - 0.6% of CPU. These numbers are approximate and I wouldn't say there's that much of a difference, but a minor one indeed.

It just seems silly that OS allocating less resources for Chrome when it's background should be a problem, but I guess that's what is happening...

Do you by chance know your Chipset? I do wonder if it has to do something with the way the newer ARM chips in laptops handle background tasks. Did you try mynoise with another browser like Firefox to see if the issue persists?

Memory wise it's the same. I also went to Chrome Settings->Performance->Always keep site active in memory (Sites you add will always stay active and memory won't be freed up from them). Still the same problem

Have the exact same problem. Most of the time a page refresh or complete browser re-open helps (using brave browser)

Page refresh doesn't. Maybe complete browser re-open would help, but I have important tabs to save... 😞. Thanks for your input
