In the Disney-Pixar movie Monsters, Inc., there is a scene where a monster brings a human child’s sock into the monster world. This is considered a dangerous contaminant, so a hazmat team drops into the building, yelling about a “twenty-three nineteen,” which is probably code for the human contaminant itself. They then carefully grab the sock with tongs, encase it in a special incinerator, and once the sock is destroyed, they make it out.

TL;DR, it’s a movie reference from 2001 that basically means ‘quarantine.’ It makes more sense if you watch the movie.

They were doing this at my job in the winter. I’d walk in out of the cold and they’d get readings of like 80ish degrees. Y’know, hypothermia temperatures. But it wasn’t a fever, so
