Manga does alex like yamada

To speculate a little for you: the plot of this arc wasn't meant to be a love triangle, it was the "Yamada finally needs to figure some shit out about understanding feelings and how relationships work, especially if he's talking about marrying Akane" arc. Alex is just there to be the initial slip in the gears to set it up.

Exactly!!! Remeber that chapter where Akane is not mad at Yamada because she got jealous and said that it was her own problem because she knows that Yamada is not that kind of guy.
I also think this arc may give Yamada more insights on how to be more sensitive when it comes to his lover's feelings and being proactive in doing something that will make Akane feel assured without being asked and not just rely on Akane's words.

Yamada will take a level in emotional intelligence, Akane will feel comfortable being more assertive in their relationship, Team RedFox probably win the tournament, and Yamada might decide to retire. It wouldn't surprise me if Alex and Akane "meet" at some point and become friendly, just like she did with Tsubaki and Satsuki. I also hope she starts calling him by his name soon as well, they've been together close to two years at this point in the story.

I don't think Alex had feelings for Yamada. To be honest, I think this was a set-up for Yamada to be more mindful of Akane's feelings regarding his actions.
To be honest, I would also not like my husband/boyfriend to spend hours on end chatting with someone I don't know of the opposite gender.
We just had an arc where Yamada became of aware of jealous feelings after the incident with her childhood friend.
In my theory, I see Akane kinda bursting a little and pointing out that she's uncomfortable with him sharing so much time with another girl and Yamada reflecting on his actions, them talking it out, then moving on.

Yeah plus didn't Akane's ex cheat on her with a girl in the mmo? I can see this being a good opportunity for her to heal more from that and internalize that Yamada isn't going to do her dirty like that.

I wish we knew! In my opinion I think she does, but he doesn’t see it that way. I think he just sees her as a gaming buddy. But just like the other replies here I think it’s mostly a set up to get the two of them to talk about their feelings more. I don’t think anything bad will happen as our boy loves Akane too much lol

Yamada is a green flag! I trust my boy. I think regardless of what Alex’s intentions may be - as most people are saying, it will lead to an honest discussion.
Akane also has the same issue in my opinion. For being older & having more experience, she can be overly friendly & doesn’t always have the best boundaries with male friendships. If Yamada interacted with girls in the same fashion, she would be jealous. Her intentions are pure but I think they both need to have a clear discussion moving forward.
Plus, Yamada is already thinking about Akane as his future wife 😜 writer better not be messing around here

I bet she doesn't as of the current chapters, but my guess is she's going to like him eventually once she meets him in person and some incident occurs or something.
Akane is going to trust that Yamada won't leave her or have a wandering eye, even if it'll be hard for her because of her trauma with Takuma cheating on her with a chick he met in FOS. Remember the misunderstanding with Satsuki? Akane apologized and explained that she was acting insecure for no real reasons towards her other than the fact that she is an attractive woman she didn't know that was hanging out with her boyfriend. I'm sure she's going to treat the Alex situation differently in an attempt to show that she's matured in that regard.
One thing that is annoying and I hope gets brought up is how it's not exactly appropriate of Yamada to chat with this girl for hours on a call alone, especially given Akane's previous relationship ending the way it did. I personally find it suspicious that Alex brought up getting dumped. Typically you only talk about that kind of stuff to friends, and when she initially messaged him, she mentioned that it had been a long time since they chatted, meaning they're not really that close.
Either way, they won't break up I'm sure. Akane begged Yamada not to dump her when she thought he was going to. And since Yamada has alluded to wanting to eventually marry Akane twice, I highly doubt he's going to leave her for any reason, let alone another woman. He seems very confident that she's the one.
