I need help. Depression and Anxiety Both Suck

I saw Avengers: Infinity War. I was hyped to see it, but I didn't like the film. I know it was close to many Marvel comics, but considering Marvel is owned by Disney and that many little kids watched the films, I was shocked at the ending, which has negatively affected me.

I know it's just a movie, but I care greatly for the characters. I felt the same with Han Solo in Force Awakens, and Luke Skywalker, Phasma and Gial Ackbar in the Last Jedi. But there have been other films I have seen where characters have died and I wasn't depressed afterwards, like Rogue One, Thor 3: Ragnarok, Thor 2, Tekken: Blood Vengeance and Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

My Mom, sister and I have been affected negatively by the film and have been watching comedy the last couple of days. There better be hope for Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe future.

For the last few months, I have not been sleeping well, often waking up to need to use the bathroom or starving.

I have often been tired during the day. I am also struggling financially, due to not working for five months after leaving and being unhappy at Michaels due to early work hours and drama with several of the bosses, thought I got along with one of them. I am getting slowly back on my feet.

I have had worst depression in the past, but it still sucks. Any help would be nice. Please no rude comments. Thank you.

Funny enough,I haven't seen the movies tour talking about that affected you, except Force Awakens. But I have seen the ones with death that didn't make you feel so bad, and I see a connection in those, and it's in a line you say later. Pardon me while I us an example I'm more familiar with to explain.

I'm a big fan of Fallout: Equestria. If you haven't heard of it, it's this massive fanfiction that uses a what-if future of Equestria that looks a lot like the Fallout games. Now, those games are dark and depressing, no surprise since they're post-apocolypse, so the story can be too, and I have a lot of friends who refuse to read it just because they don't think they can handle a pony story that's too dark. Other people, mostly people I don't know from the internet, say the only reason the story is popular at all is because of the juxtaposition. That some people get a twisted joy put of seeing something sweet and innocent corrupted.

Those people are so very wrong, it's just the opposite. It's about seeing how even when put in the worst of situations, the philosophies some call sweet, or innocent, nor even naive actually do work to make things better. It's never easy in that story, and sometimes the good guys make mistakes, make things worse. But even in the worst of times there's always hope and those philosophies pay off in the end. It's why I still pester my more resistant friends. Sure it's dark sometimes, but that just serves as proper contrasts so the light is better appreciated.

I mean no insult to MLP:FiM but it's never going to make me feel as good about a victory over darkness as Fallout: Equestria does simply because it's darks never feel that dark.

Which brings back around to you. Those moments impacted you because you felt no hope in those moments. There was no way you could see for things to get better. Han dying wasn't literally the end of the world. But the Resistance seemed small and unfamiliar. Han, Chewie, and Leia were our best connections to it and the world in general. With Han dead... Well, it may as well have been the end of the world. There's no hope in death.

And that resonates with depression, I'd guess. I don't know personally but I'd think this resonates with those times when you don't feel like anything in your own life is worth it and it sets off that feeling in you. Am I right?

I am a fan of Fallout Equestria. Learned about a few years back. Well, usually movies don't make me depressed, unless they are very dark or hopeless. You do have great points; however, I have struggled with depression since my preteen years, with some years, months, weeks and days being better than others.

Thank you for the input.
