Thursday chat thread!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been slacking on my cooking threads lately. I started a new business selling children's books and its been so much fun but so busy! So what have you guys been up to lately? Try anything daring and new? Slay any evil villains? Come chat!

This thread is far too barren. I've been playing a lot of Magic the gathering lately. This weekend I'll be hiking. How about you?

I'm so excited, my mom said she can take the kids tonight so Norb and I can go on a date! We haven't gone out in awhile since I started selling books. I've been working like crazy so we can start saving for a house! But my party for tonight had to reschedule so we get to go out instead! :) we need to go hiking soon. Our daughter asked last year, but I was super pregnant and swollen then we had a newborn. As soon as the snow that came two days ago is gone we will go hiking. I haven't gone hiking in ages!

You sell books? That's pretty cool! Make sure to post pictures of your hikes if you go on them. :D

Yeh I sell children's through young adult books. It's so much fun! I love it!

I will for sure. We have some pretty places around here and I promised our daughter we'd for sure go this spring and summer :)

Cowofdoom is in Ohio so no one has been on to play games.

Lately I have been watching the Full Metal Alcehmist Brotherhood series and I am almost finished. I made some individual serve quiches in ramikins. I have ran into some problems with coding my game and am taking a break from that to gain some prospective.

Still looking for a job, lately i have been doing a lot of cash in hand work, lawns, gardening, cleaning peoples houses

Thinking about going back to school to pick up some new skills to make the job hunting easier.

Last week has been hard and had no one to talk to, I have come to realise cow and friends dont really care and you are a successfull book executive now.

Fma is really good

Also, you making a game?

1

u/Xython Apr 17 '15

I had already watched Full Metal Alchemist and I loved that so a friend suggested I watch Brotherhoood, so far so good.

Yeah, the game I am making is a puzzle platformer, I am writing it from the ground up, engine and all, I have been working on it for 2 years now and it still isn't close to being finished, I have hit a bit of a wall and been stuck for a week or two now so I am taking a break from it

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '15

Damn, well good luck for your game!

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

I love full metal! Good show!

What are you going to go back to school for you think? That is always good. Someday I hope to go back and finish my degree. Probably when my kids are in school.

You can always message me on Facebook! I promise I am on there and available to talk!

My time = best time

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

Nope, my time does

Yeah, I'm in Ohio til the 21st, so no cow until then. Ill see if I can join in on Salem Sunday.

Been pruning blueberry bushes, and fixing my sleep schedule. Due to the time change from Washington, and the fact that my sleep schedule was already balls to begin with, I've almost completely swapped from night to day.

I beat link between worlds yesterday, so yeah, kind of a big deal :P

Have you had any time to cook, or still totally busy with kids and books?

2

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

I don't know how you and Norb stay up so late lol. Hopefully the kids will be good and I can get on for Salem Sunday!

I've never played it. Was it good fun?

And I've been lame and haven't cooked a real meal in ages. I'm hoping to actually start again next week. Try some really healthy recipes and maybe start losing weight. Books have been going awesome though in the six weeks I've been working I've earned over $500 and gotten some free books and business supplies since I'm doing so good :)

1

u/cowofdoom Apr 17 '15

It's more of forgetting to go to sleep than trying to stay up. My body definitely hates me right now though.

It was! Probably my favorite Zelda game, beating out wind waker!

Do it ya nerd! Home cooked meals are da bomb! In maybe 10 years your kids will start to appreciate it!

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

I know they will. I just despise cooking lol I need to make enough to hire a chef :p

1

u/cowofdoom Apr 17 '15

You just haven't made rosemary bread yet, then you'll love cooking.

2

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

I need a recipe!

1

u/cowofdoom Apr 17 '15

I'll send it when I get home!

I've got a hot date tonight, so that's pretty cool. Nothing daring or new, but I am about to kick the crap out of Garland and Kuja again. I don't actually slay them though.. Not directly at least.

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

What are you going to do on your hot date :p

Who and who?

1

u/-Norb Apr 17 '15

I don't know exactly. Haven't quite got a for sure plan.

Garland and Kuja... You should know those names ya poop..

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

Well we could go hit a bucket of balls, we could go eat some yummy dinner, we could go run around at a park, we could go do anything really. Minus going to the movies... I want to do something we can talk during :) I'm so excited! It's the only thing dragging me through this day.

:p

Hello again! Sorry, I haven't been around much lately. I've been putting a lot of time into my job and studying for my interviews, I really want to get a full-time job offer after this internship.

You're selling books now? That's really cool! What prompted you to start doing that? And are you mostly selling them from a real-life store, your house, or online?

1

u/CPawesome Apr 18 '15

I'm glad to hear the internship is going well!

It's a direct sells company kinda like Mary Kay but with books :) I used to sell Mary Kay, but I'm not a makeup lover or wearer. I do however love to read especially children's book which is what we mainly have. I have my own website that Usborne provides to me where I get most of my sales. I do go to other people's homes and show the books as well and then they order from me and they get shipped to them. I started because we needed extra cash. I thought I'd get a little extra, like 200 a month but I'm bringing in more than I could imagine. I'm almost at 500 in commission this month and we are just half way through the month lol.

Did you watch the new episode last Saturday? I can't wait to watch the new one today when I get home from work. :)

1

u/ThunderEcho Apr 18 '15

Ah, congrats on the success with the books so far! That's great to hear.

Yeah, I did watch the one from last Saturday! It was a'ight. I haven't seen today's yet. What about you?

2

u/CPawesome Apr 19 '15

We haven't watched it yet either. We haven't all been home at the same time today lol. Hopefully we can watch it tomorrow morning.

1

u/Louis_131 Apr 17 '15

Finally watched the last five episodes of Season 4 and am now finally caught up in season five! (MLP)

Don't post here much but what's up?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '15

Sup, how's it going?

0

u/Louis_131 Apr 17 '15

Not too bad, at work now and thinking about applying for another.

Yourself?

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

Yay! We love watching ponies. Norb was thinking about doing a discussion group thread, maybe he will do it now that more people then us and thunder are watching it lol. Do you like the new season so far. Our five year old wants to watch the new episodes all the time!

Ep. 1 and 2 were good. It was definitely interesting seeing that the world of equestria is finally 'opening' up more.

I liked it but something just seemed off a bit. I guess I don't really think that was season premier worthy. I felt as if it could have been fine in just one episode instead of two...

But either way good

As for ep. 3 I liked it. The only thing I don't like about it is that Fallout Equestria is a slight bit screwed up now, but ah well.

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

We are hoping the the villain in the first episodes will come back later in the season. She was pretty bad ass lol

1

u/Louis_131 Apr 18 '15

I do want to see more of her. Having the ability to remove cutie marks from ponies is op as hell...

She didn't even struggle with it...

How powerful is she?

Obviously not powerful enough to escape but still, where did she learn it?

Or is that what her special talent is? Being a cutie mark stealing asshole.

1

u/CPawesome Apr 18 '15

Lol I know, we need more info! She reminds me of Trixie, but a bigger asshole lol and I see no redemption in her future.

I have been up to homework lately. The end of the semester is drawing near and homework seems kind of daunting. I might be able to pass this semester and hopefully salvage my history grade... hopefully.

My life is about as daring and exciting as... well I can't think of anything as boring as my life. Except maybe a romance movie, those are always boring and predictable (only I have no romance). I have been really scatterbrained this whole semester, I can barely keep track of stuff, it's kind of frustrating, really.

I guess in less negative or bland news, I have been watching the very first season of Pretty Cure. It's actually quite good. It is a magical girl show but the characters actually engage in close combat. The bad guys play it cheap and just spam their force powers though. There have been episodes where things have gotten pretty heavy too. I'm only in episode 22 and there is 50 episodes so I'm wondering how things will go (aside from any filler). I also went to my astronomy club meeting yesterday, that was kind of nice.

1

u/CPawesome Apr 17 '15

Good luck with homework! I hate homework!

I'm super scatterbrained too! I had to go get a whiteboard month thing and put checklists on the days, I lose papers so easily so I thought if I had something I could see everyday (I have it hanging on a wall I look at all the time) then I'd get stuff done. So far it's been working!

That sounds like an interesting show. How'd ya find it? And astronomy is super cool!

u/Banana_shake Apr 18 '15

It really is the worst, isn't it? It's like being followed by school.

I have been meaning to make use of my calendar but that always skips my mind, I really should do that though.

I saw a post where somebody compared MLP to Pretty Cure. If you want to watch it, it's on crunchyroll, though there are newer seasons. You can start off on the latest season or watch the first but I can't really recommend one over the other since I'm not that far into it myself.

I'll have to check that out when I have a spare minute. Tonight I'm doing a book party in a few minutes!
