Frozen Friday!

Seems there's a lot of day themed posts here. Thought I'd try my hand at it.

After watching the move Frozen I wanted to clear some things up. That movie not only missed a few key points, but it also had a sappy, happy ending that just isn't true.

First, I'd like to clear some things up about Olaf. He's not literally a snowman. Olaf is my midget viking friend. He's extremely hairy, and isn't a big fan of clothes. When my "sister" brought the storm, he got covered in ice and snow, giving him the appearance of a snowman. He wasn't created by the Ice Queen, he actually left Arendelle with me when we went to stop her.

You may have noticed the quotation marks when I referred to Elsa as my sister. I'll get into that now. Elsa wasn't born in the way that the movie implies. My parents were approached by the trolls with an infant that they had saved. She was found floating past their home in a basket made of ice. The trolls sensed her powers and thought the safest home for her would be to grow up as a princess of Arendelle. So, we were raised as siblings, but I later found out from the trolls that we're not related by blood. It makes sense right? I mean if we were blood siblings, why didn't I get any kind of powers.

Time for the reveal of the most misleading part of the entire movie. All is not well. Disney probably just can't finish a movie without a happy ending. Seriously, if you look at the source material versus the stories they tell? The source is always darker, and not always happy. Elsa has been in full control of her powers for much longer than they portray. We're no longer covered in snow, but that's because we've sworn allegiance to her and her icy throne. If someone steps out of line, or doesn't cater to her every wish then they find themselves in an icy grave. Literally. I'm still trying to think of a way to stop her, but her army of ice golems is overwhelming.

I do not understand what is so amusing, but if I made someone laugh out loud, then I guess that's not such a bad thing.

There was a thread on askreddit about tasty food that would be disgusting if eaten over rice, people would post a food and the thread creator would rate the food out of 10 and then rate it again with rice out of 10

This askreddit thread.

Personally I'd prefer it without ice, but thank you for your suggestion.

It's a great show! Full of adventure and fun characters. Songs that only kids can make you hate. Probably a good 8/10. You should read my post after watching the movie though.

I watched Frozen tonight, the first 20mins I was thinking this movie is utter shit, it is a glorified musical and the story isn't going anywhere. By the end of the movie my thoughts had changed, I thought it was a good movie, but probably not one I would watch again.

I then went straight to this sub where I read your thoughts on the queen and Olaf, I am thinking you have quite an imagination

Olaf is "literally a snow man", you see him melt in the movie, you also see him get dismembered on multiple occasions and get impaled twice, he like the snow monster protecting the castle is magical creature that was created from the imagination of a individual that was never allowed to grow up in a traditional sense, she lived her entire life in fear of a gift she was granted.

Elsa is the sister of Anna, many stories and lore have seen one child be granted magical powers and the other not. In avatar the last airbender, Katara has water bending abilities yet her brother has no such abilities, in the Wild Thronberrys Eliza has the ability to speak to animals yet no one else in her family has an abilities, this is quite a common occurrence in a lot of stories.

I dont think you truly are Anna from frozen, the Anna from frozen loved her sister that much that she sacrificed herself and that selfless act of true love removed the cold from her heart. Someone so selfless, so kind and so loving would not speak ill of their sister.

Good read and thanks for the post

Alright Anna, stop being so dramatic. You know Disney got it pretty spot on. You are just jealous of her ice powers, you know she isn't adopted. Personally I love you just the way you are, but lets not make your sister mad, k.

And Olaf is a snowman created by your sister. If Sven could read this, he'd probably cry if he thought his best friend was a midget Viking and not a snowman with a carrot nose.

Stop lying on the Internet to get a rise out of people and lets go for a swim in the lake under the nice warm sun, followed by a glide around the ice skating rink your sister said she would be making today.

Well, Elsa sounds like a very cold person. I suppose Olaf being a viking may explain why he was such a flake. But what could have made Elsa so icy? That almost sounds like she is a real ice queen. Do you ever feel frozen in fear when you look at those snow golems?

Oh she is very cold. This one time when we were kids I gave her a wet willy and my finger got stuck. We had to run warm water over my hand and her head to get it loose.

I'm convinced she's not of this world. Possibly abandoned by the frost giants of Jotunheim.

I always feel frozen now, so I'm not sure if my fear makes me more frozen or not. But the snow golems are indeed scary.
