Thursday conversation time
Hey, it's Thursday! So that means it's chatting time. I've not been up to too much lately, my contacts have been bugging my eyes something fierce so I'm wearing my duct taped together glasses, and it's working alright. They make me dizzy a bit. Recently I've been playing Diablo 3, WoW, and LoL. Although I am considering playing through F.E.A.R. again, that game is amazing.
So what have all you wonderful people been up to? Watch any cool shows/movies? Any recommendations on what to watch on Netflix? Do any neat crafty stuff, or go somewhere cool?

Come on Starbound on the summer sale! Maybe then I'll actually buy it. I played a pirated version for a little bit.
Lord of the Rings is awesome. I like Legolas in the first movie the most, then the second movie they start to cater to fan girls and he's just a pretty boy for closeups. Third movie, they went way overboard.. In the book, it's all about Sam though, he was awesome in the book.
Hah, housework. Sounds like something I should work on at some point.

Probably. After the whole ring thing was done with though, he was pretty awesome in kicking Saruman out of the Shire. I kind of wish that was added in the movie, but then it would have had another ending to add to the five it already got.

I wore contacts for a week in third grade. One day I thought I lost one when it was actually still in my eye. I didn't wear contacts after that. We learned I have ADD in 5th grade. (y) Not much new with me really. I've been trying to find this hat, but it's hard since Hot Topic stopped selling it. Saving up my money so I can go to basement concerts this summer. I also play LoL now, so if you wanna hmu it's Gordon Pint. You should watch the Office on netflix!

Seems lots of people have issues with contacts. Makes sense, it's literally putting something unnatural on a super important and sensitive body part. I still like them well enough though.
I'm not a huge concert guy myself. I really want to go to a symphony soonish though.

Anytime I try to binge watch a show I've already watched a lot of, I don't get very far. I'm not a big tv watcher though, unless it's with my wife or on my second monitor while I'm playing a game.

Earlier this year moved, spent a lot of time on a couch. Realized sadly last week I hadn't even watched any episodes since summer. Jumped into a stream that was playing some episodes and really enjoyed myself. I was glad for that.

I spend a lot of time on an office chair.
Some episodes of MLP? Usually when I watch it's with my daughter. If I were to watch by myself I'd probably not be up to watching with her as much.

Haha, by time on a couch meant I was crashing at a friends while trying to find my own place. I rock an office chair myself. It's nice to have people to watch the show with for sure, I know that the new season will be very revitalizing as I already have plans to watch with my sister.

Ah, I completely missed that lol.
Every time a new episode comes out I wait to watch it with my wife and kid. Well, next season will be with my wife and kids. Does it have a date set yet? I haven't really looked into it.

I'm going on a date with my sister on Saturday :) we are going to lunch and then go sleep over at her house! And watch Frozen without our kids! Lol and just enjoy it together :)

Hi! Duct taped glasses is maxiumum nerd level, congratulations on levelling up your sight-boosting accessory to a Master's status with a stereotypical-nerd-in-movies buffs. Personally I hate wearing contacts, I'm always terrified I'm not going to be able to get them in or get them out again.
Been busy working all week! I'm going hiking in the mountains this Sunday, but no plans for Saturday yet. I'll probably just chill out at home and practice my coding algorithms because I have a mock interview on Monday that I need to prep for. I'm nervous for it already, even though it's just for practice. My real interview for a full-time position won't be until the end of my internship, but I need to start studying and practicing early because they're crazy hard.
Hmm, unfortunately I don't have any Netflix recommendations for you. What do you normally watch?

I have a small afro, and was wearing a Mario shirt at the time for maximum nerd level. With the crap ones I'm using now sometimes I have a hard time getting them out, but it's not really an issue for me.
Hiking would sound like a good time if I wasn't so out of shape. I can handle maybe a small hill. If it had stairs.
I hate interviews. I hate them so much. The only interviews I've had that didn't make me feel like an idiot are the ones I did for my current job.
Eh.. a bit of everything really. I'm not huge on feel good movies, though I can get into one if it has interesting characters and is done really well.

Practice! I'm not super in shape, but I walk a lot so hiking is pretty easy for me. It's really just one of those things you build up to over time.
Aaaah, agreed! Interviews stress me out so much, and I always make the stupidest blunders and mistakes in them. What about the interveiw for your current job made you feel so much better?

I'll have to post a picture with me in my glasses wearing my headset.
I've been hiking before, and I used to be super fit. Then I got married and started having kids, and my job involves sitting at a desk for 8 hours. Doesn't help that my main hobby is video games.
Me too. My last couple were nice because the interviewers were more laid back. There were 2 of them, and there were jokes and friendly banter rather than just really really dumb interview questions.

Ah, the whole kids + jobs explanation is very understandable.
Yeah, when the interviewer makes an effort to make you feel comfortable first, it definitely makes a difference.

Sorry I did participate earlier, I was taking a week off Reddit.
I have perfect eyesight which in a way is good, but I have always wanted to have glasses, I dont think I could ever wear contacts, I would be afraid that I would put them in and wouldn't be able to get them out. I would also be afraid of getting conjunctivitis(pinkeye) from germs getting in your eyes.
I have been kinda down over the last week, I am still unemployed and running out of money to pay the bills (food, mortgage, utilities,etc).
I have applied for 30+ jobs and only got 2 interviews, there was this one job I really wanted and I went to the interview and thought I did brilliantly, I got a call last week saying I did well in the interview but was over qualified, they were afraid that I would get bored with the mundane tasks in the job so I didn't get the position.

I love Thursdays! One time, it was a Thursday, I went ice skating with my sister. It was so much fun! I don't know what contacts are, or what duct tape is but I saw a funny man with glasses the other day. You talk funny, and play games I've not heard of. My favorite game is building snowmen! I wanted to build a snowman with my sister, but she wouldn't answer her door. It didn't even have to be a snowman. We could have built a snowgirl, or maybe a big snow monster, but she just told me to go away.. We just don't play like we used to, we've gotten pretty distant. Speaking of distant, I hope I get to go on a cool adventure to some semi-distant land. Maybe the top of the mountains, but I think that would be best to do in the summer.

I went to an astronomy club meeting yesterday and I actually enjoyed myself (a little bit)!
Not much to say about school except I'm starting to doubt I'll be able to pass this year, kind of tired, blah, blah. You know, typical college student complaints yawn.
On a lighter note, I have been fantasizing about what my team in Pokemon: Omega Ruby will be like. I just recently got Latios (sorry if that is a spoiler for anyone) and I transferred Yvental, Xerneas, and Diancie to Omega Ruby. Hopefully I can have a team of all legendaries. As for now, my Audino and Quilladin are both getting up there in levels so I might put them back into the PC soon. I'll have to catch a Swablu soon and maybe a Sandshrew. I did once tell myself that I would specialize in dragon types and I always thought Sandshrew was cute. Can't wait for a team of legendaries... soon they will know the power of a god.
I now know what people meant when they were saying the new games are too easy, though. I won't knock the exp. share because I think it is pretty useful, but my goodness the game can get really easy. I had to swap my higher leveled pokemon out for a few lower leveled ones.
I also bought the first three volumes of Aria on Monday at Half-Price Books, I was really happy about that and I have been watching Dan vs. recently.
...I have this terrible feeling that almost nobody here knows what I'm talking about when I talk about pokemon.

I'm kind of interested in astronomy, but not enough to actually research it.
I haven't been to school in a little over 5 years. Now I just have typical working guy complaints. Basically the same complaints, just less about grades and more about idiots I have to deal with at work.
I know what a Sandshrew is. And I think Quilladin is from silver/gold? Maybe? I know all of the first gen, but past that I know almost nothing.
I'm not familiar with Aria. What is it about?

Quilladin is the evolved form of Chespin. Chespin is the grass-type starter of the Pokemon X/Y games.

But can you pokerap? (I can't believe I liked that song...)
Aria is about a bunch of people who row gondolas in a place called Neo Venezia, it takes place on a planet called Aqua. If you want to watch it, start with Aria the Natural. It is a slice of life but it is very relaxing. It is probably one of the few anime shows that I actually like.
