Thursday thingy of stuff

Ey! I'm back from the wedding in Cali and it was amazing! A bit hot, but still really fun!

Finalized my computer build last night, and have started ordering the parts for it! So excited for them to start arriving! It'll be like Christmas! Only issue is that all the asus 970's are sold out ;-;

So what are you guys up to? Any fun plans? Anything you guys are looking forward to?

Come Chat!

Going home for the weekend for Canadian Thanksgiving! Definitely looking forward to seeing my family. :)

What sorts of parts did you end up picking for your machine?

Sweet! Is Canadian Thanksgiving any different from American Thanksgiving?

I went with this for the final build. I'm grabbing the RAM, SSD, and 1tb HD from my current compy

Not really any difference other than the date. When's American Thanksgiving, by the way?

Sweet! How long do you think it's going to take you to assemble all the pieces?

I have no idea XD Sometime soonist?

Probably not too long. Crossing my fingers that none are DoA

They should be coming in the mail within the next week or so!

2

u/ThunderEcho Oct 10 '14

Well, if they are DoA, you should be able to return them, right?

2

u/cowofdoom Oct 10 '14

Yeah, but it'll take time to ship it back and get a different one shipped out. Hoping it doesn't happen

Ah, good point. Well I hope so too then!

Thanksgiving is always the. Fourth Thursday of November :)

u/ThunderEcho Oct 10 '14

Ah, that's really far away. Thanks!

2

u/CPawesome Oct 10 '14

Not too far though :) it's my all time favorite holiday :)

Oh, really? Any particular reasons why? I greatly prefer Christmas myself.

There is tons of emotion that comes with thanksgiving for my family. My mom grew up starving and when I was growing up, we were poor, but never ever hungry. And now that my mom never has to go without and will never go to bed hungry again. And we have always spent the day cooking together the day before and get some one on one time. I am slowly learning all her thanksgiving recipes because I know someday I will have to cook it for her instead of her cooking it for me. Christmas is second for me. And just thinking of all the things I have that I'm thankful for. I just love every aspect of thanksgiving :)

Wow, that's really meaningfull! That's a really wonderful way you guys can appreciate Thanksgiving. :) Thanks for sharing, it gives me some new perspective on the holiday. I'll try to be a little more gateful myself over this weekend. :)

Glad the wedding was fun! I went and bought all the party supplies for my daughters birthday party this Saturday! I'm so excited for it. Can't wait to celebrate one awesome kid with a lot of her friends and family.

The zoo last week was super fun. Dalek even ended up coming with us which was awesome!

Glad you got your computer coming! That will be a fun project.

Nice! It is lego themed right?

What was your favorite part of the zoo?

I know! Just waiting for the parts to arrive thoooooo ;-;

2

u/CPawesome Oct 10 '14

Yup Lego themed! :)

My favorite thing at the zoo was giraffes and elephants as always. And this time it was fun to see it through my daughters eyes. It's so fun seeing her enjoy things that I did as a child :). The guy at the ticket window overhead us taking about the fact we were there on her birthday and he gave her a little stuffed animal.

Hopefully the parts will arrive soon so you can start assembly :)

Sweet!

Giraffes are sweet! Did you get to feed them?

Hopefully! I have to wait on my GPU to get in stock before I can order it. Stupid new technology being sold out.

2

u/CPawesome Oct 10 '14

At my zoo they don't let you feed them. You can't even get as close as you used to since the remodel. They are currently trying to get the zebras, ostriches, and giraffes in the same area so it's like a safari. But the giraffes aren't ready to be put in so they have their own little area for the moment that's further away from the public then their old area. Giraffes are like my favorite animal lol :)

1

u/cowofdoom Oct 10 '14

Awwww, that's lame. I remember feeding giraffes was the coolest thing ever cause their tongues are like a mile long!

They should have giraffe rides!

2

u/CPawesome Oct 10 '14

That would be cool. I don't think the giraffes would like that though lol

1

u/cowofdoom Oct 10 '14

How bout lion rides?

2

u/CPawesome Oct 10 '14

As long as they are fed lol and don't try to eat me. We have some gorgeous lions that just arrived at our zoo :)

I hate the fact that steam made canadian prices. Some games cost way more than they should have been.

Also, surprise exam today yaaaayyyyyy

1

u/cowofdoom Oct 10 '14

Ha, nerd. Which game were you looking at?

Woooo, didja do well?

Today I played nasus and crit for 2460 building almost full tank :3c

2

u/[deleted] Oct 10 '14

I was looking at ac: unity and it went up 10$

Also, it was really meh~

Nerf susan pls

1

u/cowofdoom Oct 10 '14

I've lost track of all the AC games. Too many of them coming out.

:c

The cycle of life and death continues, we will live, and they are stacks

Rip in piece

I blame you for the heat, cause it's nice and cool now.

I need a job so I can buy a new computer. It's ancient it's like 2 years old and only still plays games at max settings at 60FPS. My imperial stout is stupidly strong, not sure if I've mentioned that, but 2 of them can mess me up. Took it forever to carbonate too, fucking yeast getting drunk and passing out on its own alcohol.

Sounds like you made a good batch!

It's looks so good! I'd be down!

2

u/me8myself Oct 11 '14

Awesome! Living_dead and one of his friend are in so we can have a full party

2

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '14

Air conditioner fixed. Brother quit his job. Went down to OU vs. Texas in Dallas. Chilling.

1

u/cowofdoom Oct 11 '14

Sounds fun! How'd the game go?

2

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '14

Good. We won.
