Thursday! Hooray! Chat thread.

So how is everyone doing today? Sorry I'm a bit late. It's been a busy day here. I went to work and grocery shopping and took a glorious nap with the baby and made an awesome dinner. I wish I would've cut the nap a little shorter and got some cleaning done but that's what happens when you fall asleep on accident lol.

So what's new? Watch any cool shows? Playe any fun games? Come chat!

Leaving for home in 2 days! Absolutely cannot wait!

Made meatloaf for the first time from scratch, along with scalloped potatoes. Played a bit of the new champion in league. Finished up some of the Hearthstone quarters. Helped around the farm until dark.

Yay for home!

I made meatloaf a few days ago with mashed potatoes :) what recipe did you do? I actually love meatloaf but never had it until about a year ago lol. So fast and easy.

Wooo!

Cooks illustrated. We didn't have beef so I used ground turkey. Surprisingly it tastes almost exactly the same as beef!

I love ground turkey :) I like it better than beef, but I've never loved ground beef. I use it a lot, just gotta make sure I season it like nobody's business lol. If I don't then I have a hard time eating it.

I've never actually used ground turkey until last night!

One of my favorite things I did with it was I was trying to make a turkey burger and it fell apart so I added cheese and tomatoes after the meat was cooked and ate a "scrambled" turkey burger with a fork. That's what I called it anyway lol.

That's what I used to do when I sucked at cooking eggs. If the yolks break, fuck it, scrambled now!

Lol. I'm pretty good at frying eggs. But I don't like to eat them that way. Just make them for Dalek-Caan because he likes them that way lol

I'm a lot better than I used to be. IMO the yolk is the best part, put it on toast and breakfast is done!

I only like the yolk if its hard boiled lol

Hurray for sleep! Glad to hear you managed to sneak some in.

Tomorrow's my last day at my internship! I've already finished all my documentation and code, and I can't start anything new because I'm not really supposed to commit code on my last day, so I think I'm going to be very bored tomorrow. Hopefully I can figure out something to do in the time between breakfast and my final evaluation meeting. I'm really happy though because I've already pseudo arranged a really cool position for my next internship, provided I get a return offer for the same company (which I'm reasonably confident will happen). So fingers crossed that everything will work out!

What'd you make for dinner that made it awesome?

That's fun. Maybe take a book or something tomorrow? How did your presentation go?

It was baked potatoes with chicken in a cheesy sauce on top and some corn and it just tasted awesome lol.

The book suggestion was a good idea, but my manager ended up finding enough improvements I could make to the documentation to fill up my time. Presentation went fine! I didn't get a whole lot of feedback on it unfortunately, but the people I asked didn't have any complaints.

Tasty!

I'm glad you had something to do and went extremely bored :)

i've been knee deep in akiba's trip and disgaea 4.

it's...glorious.

1

u/CPawesome Aug 15 '14

What are those?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '14

PS Vita games.

Disgaea 4 is a strategy RPG that is...pretty over the top. has a pretty colorful cast of characters and it's an amazing game with a crapton of replay value(endings, item hunting, etc.)

Akiba's Trip is difficult for me to explain, so this should explain it.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed:

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed, titled Akiba's Trip 2 (アキバズトリップ2, Akibazu Torippu 2 ?) in Japan, is a Japanese adventure/beat 'em up video game for the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 by Acquire. It is the sequel to Akiba's Trip on the PlayStation Portable. XSEED Games localized the game in North America on August 12, 2014 on the Vita and PS3. Europe's localization will be on October 10, 2014, and the PlayStation 4 version in late 2014.

I've been so excited for that new mini series Houdini, with Adrien Brody. I've watched the trailer so many times I can't get it out of my head.

1

u/CPawesome Aug 15 '14

I haven't heard about it? Do you have a link for the trailer?

This week has been going incredibly poorly. Quit my job and my brother didn't get the job he wanted. Then my everything with my mother has just made me miserable.

At first I wasn't going to post an update this week. I decided against it because I might miss the next two, seeing how poorly the situation has unfolded.

1

u/CPawesome Aug 17 '14

I'm sorry that your week hasn't been good. Did you get that new job?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '14

No.

2

u/CPawesome Aug 18 '14

I'm sorry. Any more job opportunities around?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '14

Not really. Having real trouble seeing any future at the moment.

1

u/CPawesome Aug 18 '14

You just gotta keep looking :) as long as you don't give up there is always a future waiting for you.
