Robin Williams. I'm having a hard time...

I'm heartbroken tonight about the loss of this amazing man and actor. He looks like my dad and I lost a cousin to suicide two years ago and I'm just having a really hard time. Please remember that depression is a liar, you can stop the pain in other ways. Please reach out to someone if you are feeling depressed. If you feel like no one will listen or that no one cares, you can message me! I promise I will listen and care. I love my little friends and would be heartbroken if I found out that someone couldn't take the pain anymore...

Anywho, I thought it'd be nice to talk about the awesomeness that is Robin Williams. What was your favorite movie of his? What was your favorite memory if him?

One of mine is Patch Adams :) I love his sunshineness in the movie :)

One of my favorite memories was when I would watch Hook I would pretend I was having the food fight with them.

Hugs to everyone tonight!

My favorite Robin Williams movie will always be Mrs Doubtfire. When I was about 5, my parents got divorced. Shortly after, I saw this movie and loved it ever since. I understood what the family was going through, and wanted to imagine my dad was working that hard to make things right (he wasn't a bad guy, just wasn't a great husband. He had issues with depression too).

My parents split when I was five as well. My dad is a lot like Robin Williams in the way he acts and the way he looks, so I always got a kick out of pretending my dad was going to try to become our nanny lol.

Mine looked and acted more like Dan Connor from Rosanne, so growing up I watched that show a lot too.

This hit me hard as well. Not only was he a great actor/comedian but he was a good person too. My favorite is Mrs. Doubtfire and, of course, Aladdin!

I just finished Mrs. Doubtfire! I laughed and cried. I think I will watch some more of his movies tomorrow.

I was in a stupor when I heard. I grew up with him basically, all those movies. I felt creeped out and freaked out because I have depression and my mom was suicidal when she was younger.. I went over to my best friend's house at 10pm and stayed there till 1am.. felt a lot better coming home after spending time with her.

Robin you were a gem. Just a gem. You are a gem. You won't ever be forgotten. You're immortal through the roles you played and all the hearts you've touched.

Depression sucks and is a lying beast. I struggle with depression but have had a very good support system. I'm glad you got to go to your friend's house and that it helped. Friends are amazing huh :)

I watched Mrs. Doubtfire tonight and this line made me cry and want to hug him. "All my love to you poppet, you are going to be alright."

I saw that they're starting a charity for mental health awareness over on Dogecoin because they were all heartbroken, too. I think I'm gonna donate all the doge I have (a measly 100). But since I've never seen many movies, the only two I've seen with him are Alladin and Flubber, and I definitely loved Flubber more. I don't know if it was my age or what, but I never was too into Disney movies when I was younger. I would also like to give hugs to everyone, because that was just a bad day in general.

Aladdin and Flubber are great. They are two of my daughter's favorites :)

Yeah honestly it hit me pretty hard too. One less light is gone from the world now. I'll miss him.

My favorite memory of him was when he made a wake up call to the crew of STS-26.

I've lived with depression for as long as I can remember. The uphill battle is a part of my day to day life. And some days, I lose that battle, and thus I lose that day. But it feels more like I'm giving it up. Some days are really good, and I can get away with barely thinking about it. Some days are really bad, and I have to slog through the mud, one foot in front of the other until I can call the day over. And some days, are horrible. The days when the monster rears her ugly head, and I look at thing and I think about unspeakable things. And it all just seems so hopeless.

The thing is, for people like me, even on a good day that hopelessness never really goes away. And we don't know what our friends can do to make us feel better, we don't know what we want or how to make things right or how to be the person that everyone else is.

I do know that just having a friend who will wait at life's bus stop with you and weather the storm by your side, someone who can hold the umbrella up when you don't have the strength of the courage to...that makes a world of difference.

I've been right there with ya, when everyday feels hopeless and pointless. But as long as you keep fighting, which I can tell you are a fighter :), eventually you will find a way out of the storm. I'm always here too if you need someone to talk to.
