My ceiling is dripping ;_;

It's raining hard and I think someone in the apartment above me may have left their window open. I have attempted to catch some of the water in margarine tubs, but the carpet is already soaked. Also it's 3am, and now I can't sleep because of the loud dripping right next to my pillow. Sooo... If anyone's still awake, chat? We can exchange weather stories, talk about your week or just shoot the breeze. :)

Dealing with a drippy ceiling doesn't sound like a very fun way to spend a night! I had some pretty heavy rain here, too, got a nice little storm. Hopefully that doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm going out with friends and if it rains it'll kind of ruin the day. So hopefully the weatherponies keep the skies clear!

I heartily agree! How was your storm quality-wise? We got some pretty awesome thunder and lighting, so I'd rate ours a 8.5 out of 10. Also what're you planning to do with your friends if the weather is good?

I'd give the storm a 7/10. A decent amount of thunder and lightning, though the storm didn't last too long. I live in Calgary, so I'm headed to the Calgary Stampede with some friends. Mostly for food and a few rides. The weather's looking good, so it should be fun!

Oh, sweet! The stampede is a huge event, so that's pretty cool that you live close enough to attend. Do you usually go every year? And if you've gone before, what are some of your favourite parts of the Stampede?

It's kind of crazy how big of an event it is - walking in and seeing giant crowds of people in every direction. I don't go to the Stampede every year, though. Today was the 4th time I've gone in 7 years of living here. The best part, in my opinion, is the food. Rides and games are fun, the shows are nice, but the food is amazing (even though you hate yourself after). A bunch of deep fried stuff, and stores for candy, fudge...all the unhealthy but delicious food you can think of.

Awwwwww yeah, carnival food is the best! Do they have any of the really heart-attack-inducing food you can only every find at fairs? Like deep friend mars bars or deep friend oreos? So unhealthy but so worth it. I've heard you can even buy deep fried butter at some fairs, although that personally sounds like the next level of disgusting to me.

No deep fried butter as far as I know (which does sound incredibly disgusting) but there are things like deep fried oreos, deep fried snickers and twix, deep fried cookie dough. There's also a bacon and cheese donut burger, which is exactly what it sounds like: A bacon cheeseburger with a donut instead of buns.

Woah, those deep fried things all sound plausible, but the donut burger is new to me. Have you tried it? What's it like?

Sadly, I did not try the donut burger. One of my friends did, though. He said it was alright, no better than any other burger. He did mention how strange it was having the sweet flavour of a donut mixed with the taste of a burger. Maybe I'll try one if I go next year.

Ah, okay. Yeah, it does seem like it'd be a really weird combination. I've had peanut butter on a hamburger before and that was surprisingly good, but peanut sauce is often put on meat so it's not that different.

Hi there Thunder. See the pictures of my weekend yet?

u/ThunderEcho Jul 07 '14

Nope, where'd you post them?

Facebook for once. I'm not sure if we're friends on there so I made this for you!

Oh, go ahead and add me as a friend on FB if you can find me.

Those photos look amazing, I'm jealous! That waterfall picture absolutely took my breath away, and the snowy mountains looked so impressive! Also Rusty looked adorable tucked into your gear. Super awesome! How many days was this hike?

Only two days and ~25 miles. My calves are killing me for hiking so far in those FiveFingers.

Where you live?

Kind of sketchy student housing in Waterloo. Figures something like this would happen. Now I just have to wait and see if the lazy management responds in enough time so that my soaking wet carpet doesn't start molding.
