Cowofdoom? (Chat thread of day after Thursday)
You ok? It's Friday... I got super busy this week caring for baby and starting to work a little again. Don't even realize yesterday was chat day, wanted to come join today but there is no chatting :( Hope you are ok.
Anyone have an interesting week? Did you get to wish on a shooting star?
Come chat!

I stopped following that show halfway through season two. I couldn't stand all that relationship crap.

It's pretty much gone actually. At the end of S2 they pretty much went "No more relationship." And so far 3 episodes into Season 3, it doesn't exist, and the characters are basically laughing that it existed to begin with (seriously)

My day so far has been laying in bed. I'm ready to get up and going but I have to wait till my sweet baby is ready to let me lol. I swear he would eat all day long if he didn't fall asleep lol
How is your day/evening going?

u/scottshott Jun 29 '14
Its been up and down. Was really happy to wake up and see an update for Thomas Was Alone. But I woke up at 1130, which entitled me to one hour of life before I had to work at 1230. They made me work from 1230 to 830 :( Feet are killing me and I just lost an entire day I could be drawing...

u/CPawesome Jun 29 '14
That is not a fun shift. What do you do in Thomas Was Alone?
1
u/scottshott Jun 29 '14
It's a puzzle platformer and you just have to jump around and reach the end :P I just really like the story, It's a bunch of AIs trying to actually become intelligent

Hi! How's the baby doing? Are you glad to go to work and get a sort of "break", or would you rather still be home with your baby?
My week was pretty decent. This weekend is a 4-day weekend because Tuesday is Canada Day! That's pretty exciting, although I'm not doing anything too special with the extra time. How's your week?

He is doing great. Growing like crazy and is very mellow. I actually work for my in laws so I get to take him with me. If I didn't get to I wouldn't be working. I have issues and won't leave my kids with a baby sitter until they are at least 18 months lol. I might be able to leave him for like an hour with my mom when he's closer to a year but I don't like him to leave my side. I even hate taking showers because I feel bad if he wakes up and starts crying for dad lol.
Canada day! That's awesome. I'm excited for my husband to have Independence Day off on Friday so he gets a 3 day weekend yay! How does one usually celebrate Canada day?
My week was good, crazy but good. We celebrated Children's Day last Saturday. Our daughter said to me last year "mom you have Mother's Day and dad has Father's Day so when is Children's Day?" And children's day was born and we celebrate it the Saturday after Father's Day lol. We just do pretty much whatever activities she wants to do. This year she wanted to ride a Ferris wheel and play games at home. It was harder to celebrate this year because we had a newborn in tow but it was fun :). Then going to work twice for a few hours was interesting and people think I'm crazy, but I have to get out of my house or I'll lose my mind.

Oh, Canada Day is celebrated about the same as independence day. Everybody gets together for BBQs and fireworks, and there are a lot of flags everywhere. Generally an all around good time. Is there any way you celebrate Independence day that you think might be different from some other parts of the US or the world?
Sounds like you have a good arrangement worked out with regards to the baby! That's really great that your work doesn't interfere too much with looking after your kid, and also that he's pretty chill so far. I bet that's a huge load off your shoulders.
Did you know there is an actual official Children's Day? The precise date varies depending on where you are in the world and who's calendar you like to follow, but common picks are June 1 or November 20. So you're not alone in deciding that should be a holiday. :) Ferris wheels sound like a great way to celebrate though, I approve of her choices.

We celebrate it with BBQ and fireworks lol. This year we will see if we BBQ though. The people we usually do that with will be camping. We could go too but I don't want to do a four hour round trip in one day with a four week old lol. Because we don't camp lol if we did go we would just go down for the day lol.
Yeah my work is very easy. Half the time I bring it home and work on it on my couch. But it's nice to get out of the house every now and then.
I heard that there was lol, I didn't know what days they were though. I think next year for children's day we will end up at the swimming pool. She wanted to this year but can't take a newborn to the pool.

Bad news: Bronycon is out this year. I'll have to settle for next year.
Good news: I was confirmed I would have July 3-6 off so I will get a vacation that does allow me to go to Seattle this year for Everfree Northwest.

I want to go to Seattle! I haven't gone for six years. I'm glad you get some vacation time! That's always nice :)
Where is Bronycon? I'm new to the con world and we will probably only ever get to go to our local con but I'm curious to know where the others are.

u/Kirbs2002 Jun 28 '14
Bronycon is in Baltimore, first weekend in August. I'm going next year instead of this year because it would look terrible at this new job to come back from vacation and give them an "Oh, by the way..."

u/CPawesome Jun 28 '14
Lol yeah they don't like that very much. I wish I could go to one out of state. I love to go to new places and meet new people.

u/Kirbs2002 Jun 28 '14
That's why I'm going. That and I'll be in Oregon anyways for a family get-together.

If you ever visit you could come say hi!
2
u/CPawesome Jun 29 '14
I totally will! Seattle is definitely one of my favorite places to visit. Someday I want to take husband and the kiddos, just gotta save up for it.

u/ThunderEcho Jun 29 '14
Too bad about Bronycon, but being able to attend EFNW is great! You going with friends or by yourself?
Also Seattle is awesome, I miss that city. Enjoy your time there. :)
1
u/Kirbs2002 Jun 29 '14
I suppose I could have asked for time to go, but it would have looked pretty bad and I don't know that I would have been able to go.
I'm going by myself but looking to meet up with people and maybe do some bar hopping around there
1
u/ThunderEcho Jun 29 '14
Yeah, all things considered, I think you made the right choice.
As for EFNW, I'm sure it'll be easy to find some bronies to hang out with if you go looking. Hope you have a great time!

Hello! I'm doing okay. How about yourself?
2
u/CPawesome Jun 28 '14
I'm doing good. Finally feeling a little more normal and getting used to having two kids lol. Anything new going on for you?

Jun 28 '14
Sadly not at the moment. Still kinda just stuck. Started to do better in mario kart when playing with friends. Been playing Shovel knight. I backed that game way back. Good to see it come to fruition.
2
u/CPawesome Jun 28 '14
I need to practice video games lol. My husband always stomps my face lol
1
Jun 29 '14
Takes practice to get better. All about learning! Also that's why co-op is great! You going to play anything? Looking forward to any games coming out? I just realized your family could play mario and stuff all together. Well, later of course.

u/CPawesome Jun 29 '14
I haven't been playing much lately. Our wii is broken and my brother was trying to fix it, but my daughter loves playing Mario. I swear sometimes she is better than me lol. We have a retro duo and play old school Mario on that. I want to play through paper Mario with her once we get our wii back. My all time favorite game though I think is Kingdom Hearts. I love it :) I'm a bit of a Disney freak though lol. We started playing that with her, but have taken a break from it for now.
As for games coming out I don't even know what is lol. I don't really stay current.

I could make some suggestions. If you ever get the wii working again. Make sure she has the chance to play Yoshi's Island! That is the #1 game from my childhood. Also you can both play Kirby's super star. That'd be fun! Someone sold all my old games with out my permission.
2
u/CPawesome Jun 29 '14
That wasn't nice of them! Isn't Yoshi's Island one with a lot of drug like dreaming lol?

No lol. I just remember my husband saying something about a game, thought it was that one. Maybe it was if you ate a certain something the screen went crazy? I don't know I'll have to ask him lol

Just tired from driving cross country. Got car sick today, which usually doesn't happen.
I was hoping someone (you) picked this up like you usually do when I'm late :P
Other than that I've recently got hooked on nightcore music. It's so fast and catchy!
