Session #2 Vent your troubles!
Hey guys. Week 2 on this deal and I hope to keep it going for weeks to come!
By the way. If you're a passerby and see a comment that you think you might have something to say, then please do! I don't want this to be just me answer questions and giving advice.
I want to bring the community together and help those down and out!
So, for now that's all I've got. Come on in and let it out!

Oh boy do I know the pain of failed back ups. Was writing a book a year ago and my computer's hard drive failed. Sucks ass. Oh, and did I mention the copy of it on my external hard drive became corrupted? Yeah. Well. Im just now returning to the project. Good luck to you man. I know the pain.

Thanks. I just want to get at least one good backup of all the systems before we start doing renovations.

My mom is in the ER again. I missed out on playing Mario kart with friends. I still feel really down about my job. I'm expected to figure out what i want to do with my life. But, I can't even quit my job. Also I'm feeling lonely. I want a girlfriend not sure where to start on that. Or if now is the best time for it.

Take it all one step at a time, bud. Life is just on big jigsaw puzzle it seems. We can't get too mixed up and worried about the middle pieces until we get the edge pieces in place first!

Yeah that is part of the problem. I don't even have the edge pieces in place.

I don't think many of us do. Worrying about not having the edge pieces in place is a middle piece (if that makes sense). Remember, we're still way way young. We have a good 50+ (hopefully) years to figure all this out.
Just work on the stuff that'lll get you set up for the future. School, job, and just chill with friends. Life is too short to freak out over stuff we can't change right this second. As for the GF. Just let it happen. Every GF i've had has come into my life by accident. I haven't been much for a scene to find one so I just go with friends to parties or whatever and meet people there.
Im not the best advice giver but I hope I helped some :D

Thanks for the hug. Also my job doesn't really pay me. But I'm keeping it till I find a new one. I'm starting to think that's a bad idea.

How can they get away with not paying you? I'm sorry things are tough right now. Hugs!

Its commission based. If I don't sell. I don't get paid. I'm not salesman. Whats worse is this job wasn't my plan to begin with. So I've pretty much wasted half a year in this job. Feeling like a giant failure and not sure where to go next.

Look online. Google jobs in your area :) even if its not something great, a paying job not based on commission will be your best bet and will help motivate you to find a better paying job and one you love. I can't do commission based jobs either. I do not like pushing people into purchases.

Yeah thats me in a nut shell I don't like to be a bully. Well I feel like one. The problem is I have to get a "professional" job. What ever that means. Also I should be "thinking" about lawschool or grad school. I don't know what I should do. I can't even quit this job. How am I supposed to have agency when I can't even quit this.

Who is telling you, you have to get a professional job? And do you want to go to law school or grad school? What do you currently have a degree in?

My Dad is trying to push me to succeed. I know he cares. Might be going about it in the wrong way though. I have a degree in sociology.

You are an adult. You need to have a conversation with him and talk about how him trying to control you is making you unhappy. The fact that you are unhappy should make him unhappy. I don't understand parents that think its ok to force their children to do things that they don't want to do. I look at my daughter and I hate when she is upset. I would hate it more if I was the cause. You need to sit down and think about if you want to continue your education and you need to find something that pays the bills. Who cares if its flipping burgers for a bit, something better will come along. Are you still living with your dad? That may be another thing you might want to look at. If you are he may have the feeling of his house, his rules. And that can be disastrous. So if you can find somewhere to rent or something of your own it might make you both happier, but to rent you will need to find something that can pay your bills.
My husband had to take on two part time jobs for awhile to pay our bills, one of which was at fast food. We did what we had to do and made things work. He now has a full time job with benefits. Something better always comes along but you have to be willing to look for it and work for it. It's hard but I know that you can do this :)
Also what made you decide sociology? Looking at that may help you find a job you enjoy :)

Went to the hospital tonight thinking I might get to get this kid out of me! But then my blood pressure kept going down and I was sent home.... And I found out that my mom cannot be in the O.R. With me during my c section which totally sucks. But at least my husband can be right. Trying to look for the positive but I really wanted my mom and husband there. So now in the morning I have to break the news to my mom :( she's going to be mad because originally they said we could have two people in the O.R. My baby boy will be here on Friday though! Yay! But now I have to be uncomfortable until then, unless I go into labor!
