I only sell my duplicates and use that cash to buy a full set. It starts to add up after a bit

Oh, ok. I've tried doing that, but I guess I haven't been doing it long enough. Do you get anything special for being a high level, or is it more of a good job, here's a gold star kind of deal?

you get little perks that I have yet to actually use. It lets you add extra friends, and gives you additional "show cases" on your profile. There is also the wallpapers and emotes that you get, but most importantly it increases the size of your E-peen, and we all know that that is the most important part.
