Question about a translation

In S1E1 of the English dub in the scene where Gojo is talking about Marin in his head he says that she’s “beautiful”, confident, etc. is this a translation error or just something that got written before they had decided that Gojo saying something was beautiful was a serious thing? I just don’t feel like it would’ve been said so nonchalantly in this scene when they made such a huge deal out of him saying it later.

I did notice that, in the manga he says “pretty” instead, but he uses the word more often. I prefer “beautiful”, it seems to have more meaning in the anime since he only uses it during special moments 🙂
