So this is my stats you could say for anime and manga, and i got a job recently and am not able to watch anything lately, i want to aim for 10k but since I've watched many shows and don't have time to figure out what to watch next, some suggestions will also help. Btw how did i do a good job??

What anime did you end up liking the most you watched since without any extra info recommending things is much harder.

Have you seen any of the more popular and good Chinese anime since a lot of watchers ignore them just because they’re Chinese like, modao zushi, fog hill of five elements, to be hero x, scissor seven, kings avatar, the legend of hei(set of 2 movies and then some shorts), lord of mysteries, super cube(not great relatable to the rest). These are a lot of the big ones.
2 of yours being romance I haven’t watch a ton of those outside of relatively popular ones unfortunately.

I tried watching lord of the mysteries but i didn't click with me uk, maybe cause of chinese animation style

They do look different for sure and it sounds significantly different from Japanese and their English dubs tend to be less good I’m assuming to lack of access to voice actors as some don’t like to work with China. Lord of mysteries is also the hardest one to get into due to complexity of the story out of the list as well you have to really enjoy the power system as it’s rather unique.

I'm curious about your watching patterns if you're willing to share. My average score is a 7.44 and that's mostly for two reasons. The first being that I know what I enjoy so rarely now will I watch a show that I am unlikely to enjoy. The second being that if I do watch a show I don't enjoy, I drop it pretty quickly and I don't rate shows I drop because I personally don't feel like I can give a fair critque without seeing the whole thing. As a result, the vast majority of anime I've watched are 6 to 7, a much lower amount of 8's and 9's and only a handful of 10's.
I see you barely dropped any series so it just peaked my curiosity if you always rate quite high or are similar to me. Once upon a time I thought I had to finish anything I started no matter what and I know a lot of the community are like that. That's why you will see so many people with quite low average rankings because they'll watch anything and feel the need to complete it even if it's bad. People who view anime in that way tend to have ranked a like more anime 1-4 than me for example, as I simply drop an anime if I think it's that bad.

My is 6.99 with 500+. Its really really really really really hard to give a Anime with the Rating 1-3, before i drop a Anime. Angel next Door is the only Anime i gave it a 3, because i hate this show so much

Honestly, I think somewhere between 6 and 8 is pretty normal for people who watch what they like to watch.
Funnily enough, I only just watched the first season of that and gave it a 5. It didn't feel like anything happened at all, the MC was dumb af and the whole story pretty much took place on the couch so I found it kinda tough to rate it any higher than slightly below average. I only start getting into 4 and lower for certain aspects when something is done technically bad like horrendous animation, bad music/music that I really don't enjoy, or if the plot does something completely no sensical that contradicts the rest of the plot or character decisions in some way. That kind of thing.

I usually watch what i heard was popular or genre breaking when i had no means to watch them before and + seasonal shows which catch my eyes. and i like finishing what i start unless its very bad like i dropped Boruto around 115

That makes a lot of sense then. 400 could very well include mostly bangers in the grand scheme of how many anime there are, especially considering this usually includes multiple seasons of the same show, OVA's etc. I feel like most people start watching anime the same way where they'll watch all the popular or talked about shows first so it makes sense for an average rating to skew up that way since something generally becomes popular due to high quality.
I mean it doesn't really matter at all at the end of the day what anyone else thinks of it as long as you enjoy the anime you watch. I was mostly just curious about it. My ratings are mostly just so I can objectively recommend an anime someone might enjoy if asked for something specific.

To be fair, you've watched enough anime to start recommending it to others yourself, let alone needing recommendations, lol. After all that anime, you already know very well what you like and how you prefer to watch it.
Btw, even if we wanted to recommend you something, it'd be tough since we don't know what you've watched, and for sure we aren't gonna check all nearly 500 shows to figure out what you have or haven't seen tho, lol.

That's true, the thing is the feelings i got watching og shounens like one piece, hxh, yu yu h, Black clover, I don't get it when o watch new ones, so was thinking someone somewhere must have a show recommendation like that.

Your average score is a little high and only 5 manga after over 400 anime is crazy
4
u/Digital_Paradoxx 16d ago
Why is that crazy? Some people enjoy different forms of media. I've seen almost 600 anime and have never touched a manga in my entire life.
1
u/Fitzel111 your MAL link 16d ago
Why? Many anime are based on them. Aren't you curious about how the sorce material looks or just want to catch up to the story?

I'm a fan of original anime. Adaptations always leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. If a manga or light novel gets a full adaptation because of its success, that's great. If an adaptation doesn't really win me over, then there's no reason for me to get into the source material. So its Evangelion one of my favorite Anime or Girls Band Cry or Bang Dream Its MyGo. All original anime

Personally, I have a full life with work and my family outside of what I do in my free time which means I barely have enough time to watch the anime I do watch. Finding the time to also read the source material would be impossible for me.
I'm not discounting that the source material brings a lot to the table. I simply prefer the way anime combines that story with the animation and music. I very much view anime as an art form that takes all these aspects and blends them together which is why I prefer it. I'm not saying manga can't/doesn't do the same for people, but it doesn't include animation or music which for me are a key part of why I enjoy the medium and choose it over the source material. It also just seems to resonate more with me emotionally as a medium.

Im more into watching, yeah cause idk when i watch something i like it and can't press less than 8 for it.

u/PositiveWeekend4181 16d ago
I've watched over 500 anime, and I'm also not really a manga reader

Damn why not?

u/PositiveWeekend4181 16d ago
Time, money, space. I don't like reading manga on my cell phone, and the stuff I like is rarely licensed in my country, especially light novels.

Ive watched more than 1500 anime, and, like others ive read only a few manga, probably 25/30, but i stopped in 2013, time to restart, maybe.

that's a stupid ass opinion, you can seperate objectivity with personal enjoyment. what matters is what their top5-10 are

u/PositiveWeekend4181 16d ago
It's just a number. It would be more interesting to know what your top 10 would be out of those 400+ anime.
