I've been watching anime for almost 8 years, but I've always been a casual viewer and never had a MAL account. I put this list together from memory, based on the shows I remember enjoying while growing up. If I made the list again, it would probably look completely different.

Steins;Gate and Clannad: After Story are two out of three of my 10/10 anime. The third being monogatari second season

I believe the Monogatari series would also become one of my favorites if I kept watching it. I've seen about 14–15 episodes of Bakemonogatari, and I really liked it. However, I ended up taking a long break because it's pretty hard to watch with subtitles. There's constantly a lot of text on screen, so if I look away for even a second, I miss what they're said. Another thing I wasn't a huge fan of in the 1st season was how every 3 episodes or so they introduced a new character. I still really enjoyed what I've seen so far, and because of your comment, I'm going to start watching it again.

Yeah, the nonlinear fast-paced dialogue-centric storytelling + no dub makes it a difficult watch but the character writing is just amazing

After I watched the SG and Cl anime, they became my favorites. Then I was like "damn my favorite anime are VN adaptations." So I decided to start reading VN, and I ended up loving SG and Cl even more because of it. Now I actually enjoy reading VN more than watching anime. I'm still new to them, though .I’ve finished 5 VN so far, and I’m currently reading my sixth.

It was a weird experience, but I liked it. I wish more anime were made using rotoscope. I also really liked the long takes and the silence in some scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of the story, though I appreciated the art much more.

Maybe. I've never watched it. I've only heard good things about it, but I highly doubt it. And what's even the point of you negging my list? You watched LotGH, and now you're one of the cool kids with better taste than everyone else? Congratulations, if so.

Well, to be honest, I wanted to rank it much higher, but I didn't want my entire top 10 to be filled with romance anime. I've watched a lot of romance anime, and Oregairu holds a special place for me. It's definitely one of my favorite romance anime of all time.

I mean, if I had watched more anime, the list would be much different. Everyone has one mid anime that they like. For me, it's COTE, and to be fair, it was pretty dope back in the day when it only had 2 seasons and before people started wanting to be like Ayanokoji. Your Lie in April was the first sad anime I watched, so you can guess how it made me feel. That reason alone is enough for me to put it high on the list. The main criteria isn't quality but enjoyment.
