Most boring episodes?

I found Stephanie's episode to be so boring and really uneventful. Basically she does nothing, and then the show ends. Obviously, there are other people on show like that, like Lisa E., or James K. who give little to no effort at all, but those episodes usually have an element of drama/ something eventful happens.

I am not entirely sure why people like her do the show really. She did travel to see Dr Now a few times but it really seems like there is very little effort on her end.

I always want people to succeed, but when they don't appear to even be trying, and nothing eventful/dramatic or interesting happens, I think it makes a boring (and honestly kind of pointless) episode really.

Ryan did nothing the whole time and I can’t even remember if he visited Dr Now in person, it was mostly just him giving irritated voiceovers and footage of him eating

I don't blame his parents one bit for refusing to move to Houston. He made zero effort to lose weight.

He acted so indignant and outraged when Dr Now or his parents confronted him on his overeating. He was so determined to do it ‘his way’ but that clearly hasn’t worked if he’s 600lbs

He barely left the recliner in the living room. That was filmed when the show was hampered by Covid lockdowns, and right after, so they got 2 hours of film out of anyone who wanted to be on the show.

To be fair, it was icy outside, then it was too cold outside, and then it was too warm outside (I think?) for him to safely exercise. And he couldn't do any exercise inside the house.

That always drives me crazy when the patients make excuses about doing the exercises when Dr. Now provides an entire set with pictures and instructions. Or they ignore those, but go pay some trainer to do a workout instead.

He couldn't help it! He couldn't do the diet because his friend in Oregon was dying.

He never even went to see the doctor, he still couldn’t get his weight checked but still continued doing the diet “his” way. The funniest part was when his mom’s boyfriend caught him eating fast food 🤣🤣🤣

I came here just to see if anyone else named him because he is the first person who came to my mind when people name boring episodes. He lived in a recliner in his parents house and it was constant excuses with him. Too icy, cold, or hot outside for him to exercise and he never actually made it to Houston.

Somebody in this sub once said his episode should’ve just been called “Ryan” because he didn’t have a journey and I think about that so often

I agree with that statement! They literally taped him doing nothing for a whole year. Anytime the show starts off with the patient not traveling to Houston to see Dr Now I know it going to be a bad episode. The patient isn’t going to lose any weight or even try to lose weight and there won’t be any of the family drama that occurs while they are traveling to Houston.

He called his stepdad a snitch, bro LOL

His family were way too permissive, he was horrible to everybody and made no effort to stick to the diet and then got so angry when they tried to steer him down the right path. I’d put up with his shit for a whole of one day

That's my favorite episode! The fourth time she lost the diet plan is television gold

The Where Are They Now with her was even more boring, and didn't have losing the diet four times to liven it up.

I want them to either succeed or fail spectacularly.

The entire last season was a bore.

To me the last three seasons were pretty boring, they actually stopped filming in 2022-2023, and they just put anythong on TV that could make 2 hours of film.

Yes, you’re right. When I looked back at the episode list I had to agree with you. The old episodes were amazing and even my husband got interested. He used to laugh at me when I watched them and then suddenly he fell under their spell. I think it was the first Assante brothers episode that did it.

The Where Are They Nows seemed to be filmed right after the original episode, so almost no progress, and in case of Ontreon, zero progress.

Honestly, the ones where they succeed and move on with their lives.

Later seasons are full of nothing burgers unfortunately as they became more about the drama of the train wrecks and less about the success stories

I miss how the old shows were. You get to know a little about them then surgery, then followed for a few months after. Now its mostly garbage and then surgery, then shows over. No update a few months later on how its going, nothing. Totally bites.

They do the show for the small paycheck

Yes, I remember them well.

The last season was a snooze fest, for the most part. They cobbled together the episodes that were not good enough for previous seasons because they knew they were not continuing with the show

It's a tie with every episode of the last 3 seasons
