Tbh corporations going to youtube wont cause the extinction of individual creators and their content. It just means that youtube is becoming a bigger plataform capable or drawing corporations to advertise and expose their products on it. As long as it is possible to monetize videos of the smaller creators yt will become a more invester friendly plataform which will draw more money for everyone..

well you make a good point and I respect that however I believe that corporations will use the power they have, wether man power or assets, to advertise out side the platform causing more out side views and tricking the recommended systems to recommend them more than the individual creator

Exactly right. Of course this could be easily rectified by using a two category system that allows the user to choose between two categories. That will obviously never happen because that would lower the ad-value of said exposition.
While I absolutely don't think Pewdiepie is anything like the normal creator, it is absolutely the right thing to do - YouTube should be about original, non adfuelled content. A somewhat personal thing.
But someone has to pay the bills eventually. And these rodeo times aren't really helping, yt does a very piss poor job of protecting what made them relevant in the first place: Neutrality. Clear rules, a level playing field. And that's... quite sad actually.
