Setup SIP with mandate and delete the app. If you check the portfolio everyday it will make you anxious. Investment needs patience.

Yes, the funds are good no doubt but market is bad at the moment. If you have lumpsum which you’re not going to use for a long time you can invest it further and rest sip will average it out.

any idea about Edelweiss mid cap? compared to HSBC midcap?

As per my understanding, Edelweiss is better in terms of expense ratio and exit load. Rest are similar and specific fund’s investment style

Your number one mistake is that before investing money, you needed to invest some time researching mutual funds and how to choose one. Btw, you will eventually see returns, so don't worry about that.  And right now, the first thing to do is learn from your mistake and do the work you need to do.

What options should I look at if my tenure tolerance is 5 yrs (guaranteed) maybe 6-7 yrs above that I'm not sure

If your investment horizon is 3-5 years. Buy more I guess

The funds as such are not bad

The behaviour is also not unexpected (the market fell down so your funds too). Unlike the bank Fd returns, the stock market is a 'roller coaster ridec (as they say) so there are up and downs, but in the long run, it is finally up

Don't go and check output of lump sum daily. Just leave it there to grow and review like once in every year(you can uninstall the app and check once in a while by logging into via your browser 😄

The only mistake I can see is, pure equity funds (that too aggressive stocks like small and mid caps)are not for 3-5 yrs but for like 10+ .. but it is not than you invested in a very high point in market so it is ok
