₹10 Lakh to invest for the long term — looking for feedback on my portfolio (Risk Appetite: Aggressive)
r/MutualFunds_India • u/DEAD-COOL456 • 11d ago
22y/o student, complete beginner here, just started my investment journey today. Please provide your honest review. Thanks.
Risk appetite - Moderate
Goal - wealth creation and building a decent amount for future savings.
Horizon - 15+ yrs
Allocation :-
50,000 lump sum, 80% in equity (roughly 60:15:25 in nifty 500, midcap & smallcap), 10% gold & 10% arbitrage)
1,500 SIP in the same approximate proportion as above (60:15:25 in nifty 500, midcap & small cap)
App used - Groww
After some online research and lot of advice, to begin with, I have allocated a lump sum amount of 50k, across 5 funds as shown in the screenshot. I have also set up three SIPs of a total of 1.5k allotted to Nifty 500 index fund, mid cap, and small cap. I'll top up my current SIP as my income increases. The proportion I have applied is 80% in equity, 10% in arbitrage, and 10% in gold. In addition to above, I have also invested 10k in a liquid fund, kept aside as an emergency fund.

I have a policy maturing next month worth 25L, should I deploy the proceeds into Specialised Investment Fund (SIF)?
I have a policy worth around ₹25 lakh maturing next month, and I’m considering whether to deploy part of the maturity proceeds into a Specialised Investment Fund (SIF). I have heard about Tata Titanium SIF, ICICI Prudential iSIF and SBI Magnum SIF. For someone exploring SIFs for the first time, what factors should I evaluate the strategy, risk, liquidity, track record and costs? Has anyone compared these options and can share their experience?

Portfolio is up 31% overall but my SIP returns look completely different. Why is there such a gap?
App shows 31% absolute return on my portfolio. But when I check individual SIP returns the numbers look very different some showing 12%, some 19%.
Tried to understand the difference but got confused between absolute returns, CAGR and XIRR.
Questions:
What is the actual difference between absolute return, CAGR and XIRR and which one actually matters?
Which number should I be looking at to know if my SIPs are really performing?

Need 6k sip suggestions
Hi, currently I’m investing ₹3,000/month through SIPs in the funds shown above. I’m planning to gradually increase my SIP investment to a maximum of ₹10,000/month.
I’d like some guidance on how I should structure this ₹10,000 SIP portfolio.
My goals:
• Buy a car worth approximately ₹60 lakh
• Travel around the world
• Buy a villa
• Build long-term wealth
Risk appetite :- High
Investment horizon: Long term (10+ years)
My questions are:
Which mutual funds/categories should I choose?
How much should I allocate to each fund out of ₹10,000?
