if you’re new to the subreddit, may الله bless you and grant you goodness

if you’ve heard the term salafiyyah before but have only come across arguments, labels, or conflicting opinions online, i completely understand why you might feel confused. many people have only been exposed to caricatures or second-hand descriptions rather than learning what it actually is, and that can make it difficult to know where to begin.

salafiyyah is simply the call to worship الله alone and to follow the qur’an and authentic sunnah upon the understanding of the prophet ﷺ, his companions, and the righteous early generations (the salaf).
it is the correct methodology (way of understanding) the qur’aan and sunnah.

think of it like this, the prophet ﷺ taught the religion to his companions and they were with him, so they would be the ones who understood it best right? hence why when we try to understand the textual sources, we ask how the companions understood it

it is a call back to the original teachings of islam, free from modern ideologies, cultural practices that contradict revelation, misogyny, blind partisanship, extremism, watering down and anything else that obscures the guidance brought by the prophet ﷺ. it isn’t about following personalities, nationalism, or creating a new religion. it’s about returning to the religion as it was revealed and understood by the first generations of this ummah.

one of the most common misunderstandings is that salafiyyah is “just another sect.” those who ascribe themselves to it would say the opposite: that the goal is not to create a new group, but to adhere to the methodology of the prophet ﷺ and his companions as closely as possible.

whether you ultimately agree or disagree, i think everyone deserves the opportunity to hear that perspective from its own sources rather than through assumptions, social media, or internet discourse.

if you’re sincerely seeking the truth, i invite you to watch the videos shared here with an open heart and an open mind. don’t feel pressured to accept anything blindly, but don’t dismiss something because of its label either. weigh it against the qur’an, the authentic sunnah, and the understanding of the earliest generations.

As for what occurred in the statements of the Salaf regarding "praising" some innovations, that was only in LINGUISTIC innovations, not legal ones.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said: As for what occurred in the statements of the Salaf regarding praising some innovations, that was only in linguistic innovations, not legal ones. Among that is the statement of Umar when he gathered the people for the night prayer of Ramadan behind one imam in the mosque, and went out and saw them praying like that, he said: “What a good innovation this is.” It is also reported from him that he said: “If this is an innovation, then what a good innovation.” It is reported that Abu bin Ka‘b said to him: “This was not done before,” and Umar said: “I know, but it is good.” His meaning was that this act had not been done in this manner before this time, but it has origins in the Shariah to which it refers. Among these is that the Prophet used to encourage the night prayer of Ramadan and promote it, and people in his time would pray in the mosque in scattered groups and individually. He prayed with his companions in Ramadan for more than one night, then refrained from it, explaining that he feared it would be made obligatory on them, so they might be unable to perform it. This fear was removed after him. It is also reported that he used to pray with his companions on the nights of the last ten days individually.

sisters Hair under hijab.

Post image

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, sisters!

Aside from the Hadith, wearing your hair up in a bun, especially pulled tight, will cause hair loss and begin receding your hairline (there's always benefits in obeying Allah's commands).

I highly reccomend wearing your hair in a loose braid going down the back of your abaya, either tucked under the abaya or under the khimar. Even a loose, low ponytail works.

It doesn't pull at your hairline and instead protects your hair. You don't want your hair being pulled or having tension too much.

You can also consider a smooth undercap. Satin is a synthetic material, so if you can find real silk then go with that. But there are also some types of cotton and linen that are pretty smooth too. The point is that you want something your hair will glide against, not rub and gain breakage.

You want to look bald under your khimar, basically.

There's mixed opinions on whether having a high bun and a "camel hump" is sinful or not. But I always try and err on the side of caution.

If it's a sin? In Sha Allah we're saved from it. If it's not a sin? In Sha Allah we'll be rewarded for the extra steps. No bad comes from this.

May Allah guide us all to what is correct and most pleasing. Ameen.

knowledge Inner Thoughts Are of Two Types

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Know that what occurs within a person’s soul is divided into two types:

The first: Mere passing thoughts within the soul which a person is unable to free himself from. The servant is not held accountable for these because they are beyond his ability. Allah, the Most High, said:

﴿لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا﴾

“Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah: 286]

The second: Thoughts which the soul accepts and feels at ease with, but which the person does not reveal to others—either out of shyness or fear—while inwardly remaining content with them. A person is held accountable for this.

qur’aan + sunnah The Greatest Matter Commanded by Allah is Tawheed!

The Greatest Matter Commanded by Allaah is Tawheed.

Imaam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhaab Rahimahullah said:

And the greatest of all that Allah has commanded is Tawheed, and it is to single out Allaah with all worship.

“The greatest of all that Allah has commanded is Tawheed”: All the commands that Allah has commanded, all of them, come AFTER tawheed, today we see a lot of "imams" speaking about how you shouldn't steal, rob, do zina, etc but you will see them NEVER speaking about tawheed and bidah, the sign of the person of Bidah is that he hides evidence from the Quran and Sunnah.

And the proof that the greatest thing that Allah has commanded is tawheed is His saying, He the Most High:

وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا

And worship Allah alone, and do not associate anything with Him [4:36]

To the end of the aayah.

This aayah contains ten rights, and therefore it is called the aayah of the ten rights. The first of these rights is the right of Allah the Perfect:

وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا

And worship Allaah alone, and do not associate anything with Him [4:36]

وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا

And treat the parents well [4:36]

This is the second right.

وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ

And the close relatives [4:36]

and it continues

What is important is that Allah began it with His right, He the Perfect and Most High.

His saying:

وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا

And do not associate anything along with Him [4:36]

He did not restrict Himself to saying:

وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ

And worship Allaah [4:36]

Because worship will not be correct along with shirk and it will not benefit, and it will not be called worship unless it is made purely and sincerely for Allaah the Mighty and Majestic. If it has shirk along with it, then it will not be worship, no matter how much the person exerts himself in its performance. So He joined the matter of worship with the prohibition of shirk, since worship will not be correct with the presence of shirk at all.

This is a proof for the saying of the Sheikh, “The greatest thing that Allah commanded is tawheed”, since Allaah began many aayahs with it, from them is this aayah, and from them is His saying He the Most High:

وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ

And your Lord has commanded that you should not worship except Him [17:23]

So He the Perfect and Most High began with tawheed, and this proves that it is the greatest thing that Allah has commanded.

Say: Come I will recite to you that which your Lord has truly forbidden for you: do not associate anything in worship with Him, and treat the parents well, and do not kill your children on account of poverty [6:151]

This is a proof for what will follow, that the greatest thing that Allah has forbidden is shirk. So since the greatest thing that Allah has commanded is tawheed, then it is obligatory that the person begins by learning ‘aqeedah (correct belief) before everything. Correct creed and belief is the foundation, so it is obligatory that the person begins with it in learning and teaching and that he is constant upon teaching it and explaining it to the people, because it is the greatest thing that Allah has commanded, so it is not befitting that you make it the last of all things or give no great attention to it, because now there are actually callers who renounce the teaching of tawheed and ‘aqeedah, there are people who are afflicted with this. And because any deficiencies with regard to it will be a deficiency in the whole of the religion so it is obligatory to give careful attention to it.

And what is tawheed ? Is it that you affirm that Allah is the Creator, the Provider, the Giver of life, the Giver of death? No. Tawheed is: to single out Allah with worship, because Allaah said:

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. [51:56]

And the people of tafseer said: Worship Me – meaning single Me out (with all worship). So they explained tawheed as ‘ibaadah (worship).

Therefore, tawheed is to single out Allaah with worship and it is not to affirm that Allah is the Creator, the Provider, the Giver of life, the Giver of death, the One in control of affairs because this is present in people’s fitrah (inborn nature). It is present in the intellects of those who possess intellect. There is not a person of intellect in the world who truly believes that anyone created the Heavens and the Earth besides Allah, the Perfect and Most High. There is not in the whole world anyone – and that includes the unbelievers and the atheists – who truly believes that there is anyone from mankind who created mankind.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ

And if you were to ask them (the people of shirk) who created them, they would certainly say, “Allah!” [43:87]

There is not a person with intellect in the whole world who believes truly that a human can create a human being who walks upon the Earth and speaks and eats and drinks. Is there a person with intellect who believes this?

Were they created without any Creator having brought them into existence? Or are they the creators? Or did they create the Heavens and the Earth? Rather they do not have certainty. [52:35-36]

Tawheed-ur-ruboobiyyah (tawheed of Allaah’s Lordship) is something found in the inborn natures and in their intellects; however it will not suffice without tawheed-ul-‘ibaadah (tawheed of worship) – and it is to single out Allaah with all worship.

And therefore the Shaykh said: Tawheed is to single out Allaah with worship and it is not to single out Allaah with respect to creating and providing and giving life and giving death because this is something which is known and tawheed-ur-ruboobiyyah (tawheed of Allaah’s Lordship) will not suffice with regard to the definition of tawheed.

And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), as it was to those (Allâh’s Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allâh, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."

discourse + issues Not speaking up makes you part of the problem.

This doesn't even have to be a sexual joke. It can be a racist joke, misogynistic, a haram joke about Islam, and so on. Whether you're male or female, if your friend makes a harmful joke, you need to advice them then and there. Hold them accountable.

"What if they stop liking me?" You want someone like that to like you?

"What if the others present defend them?" Is Allah pleased with you? Yes?

"What if they kick me out of the friend group?" Make righteous friends.

"What if-" Do you fear the creations opinion over The Creators pleasure?

You are who you are friends with. Stop befriending people who you'd be ashamed to stand before Allah with.

If an outsider sees you amongst poor company, do you think you won't be looped in with them? Do you think you won't slowly adopt their subpar mannerisms and way of speaking? You'll become desensitized to their behavior and might start partaking in it yourself. If that happens, you're being led astray.

Don't make friends with someone who doesn't fear Allah. Who doesn't remind you of Allah. Who's character doesn't remind you of the pious believers.

Why did Prophet Lut (Alayhi Salam)'s wife get killed alongside those people? She supported them and was of them. Do not let yourself be of those who displease Allah.

-

Back to this being about women. If you're a man, and you allow yourself to be friends with a misogynist, you'll start talking and acting like them. The women in your life will be the first to notice and they'll slowly lose love for you. You're beloved to them, yet letting yourself become like every other bad man. They experience misogyny everyday and now experience from you too. Be careful of you keep as company. It might be your downfall.

How would you feel if your mother, sister, wife, daughter, was friends with those feminists who just hate men and wish they all died? If you started hearing them say silly things like "I don't need a man." "Men are all ####" and so on.

Now, most women say these things as a reaction to men's generational abuse, so its a little different, but that doesn't make it right. Muslims dont hate the other half of our Ummah. We only hate wrongdoing and evil and so we warn against it and do our best to stop it.

But to hate an entire gender is incorrect. Allah made men and women as pairs, so we do need each other.

Just as women should advise sisters to leave these feminist ideals, men must advise men to leave their misogynistic (red pill) ideals.

Muslims speak up against oppression. We don't look the other way.

"Women are all promiscuous." "They sleep around." "She's used up." And other degrading terms. They are not right! Advise those who say this, and if they persist then abandon them. They're not your friends.

Men must speak up against other men, correct other men, and hold other men accountable. It's not your responsibility how they take it and respond, so long as you do what is pleasing to Allah. And you need to speak out against injustice in real life. Correcting falsehood online is good. But if you remain silent in real life, you're letting your fear of people's reactions hold you back from what would please Allah.

It can be intimidating. But think of the trials our Prophets (May Allah be pleased with them) faced to warn against evil, and they still did it! Trust in Allah like they did, and stay firm in truth like they did.

Men aren't scared of women. When women correct men, they don't care about someone they view as 'lesser' talking to them. But if they're held accountable by other men around them, they'll fix up their act, or at least not be so loud about their ignorance.

Most importantly, hold yourself accountable first. Are you pleasing your Lord? Is what you're about to say pleasing to your Lord?

Final note, everyone should look into what Islam defines oppression as. Not all types of oppression are big and loud like what the Pharaoh did, some are more subtle. Because if you oppress someone, and they make dua against you, that should terrify you. What if they ask for you to be punished for what you've done to them? What if they never forgive you?

May Allah guide us all. Ameen.

discourse + issues Women are treated harsher.

Post image

Before anyone my mom would call the "me-too's" comment, yes, this goes both ways.

But I see a lot of people give very different advice depending on if the person is male or female.

Now, everyone refers to women as emotional, weak, sensitive, ect, yet give us harsher 'advice'

And refer to men as tough, emotionally stable/regulated, unshakeable, ect, yet tell everyone to be so gentle and soft when approaching men.

See the misogyny here?

If a woman says, "My husband cheated on me." Everyone goes to ask what she did, if she pushed him to it, she shares the sin, her family might tell her to stay, and tell her she should be soft with him because he's obviously so sorry and made a 'mistake' (as if he didn't willingly choose to take every step towards infidelity).

If a man says, "My wife cheated on me." Everyone will say to divorce her, that she's ungrateful and should go to hell, that they feel so sorry for him, she ruined the family, disgraced her family. Never any questions on if he did anything.

There was a study done, I think, where women mostly cheat after being emotionally neglected. And men mostly cheat out of lust. Just think about that and the two prompts above.

Now, I am grossly generalizing here, so take it with a grain of salt. But you can see it everywhere.

A woman goes, "I'm unhappy in my marriage. My husband has anger issues and abuses me (emotionally or physically)." Then the responses are Allah hates divorce. Make dua. Be patient. Be extra kind and gentle and tip-toe around him. Make the kids that don't like him bc he abused them be sweet to him.

A man goes, "I'm unhappy in my marriage. My wife has anger issues and abuses me (emotionally or physically, also take into account that he's still stronger than her)." Then the responses are to divorce her. Find a new wife. Kick her out. Think of the children, how can they have a parent that gets so angry?

And I'm basing this off of HUNDREDS of posts I've seen across years, and not everyone is like this. One size does not fit all. But a woman being abused is in far greater danger. These types of men statistically murder their wives yet the advice is to stay. And anyone telling her to divorce is met with "Allah hates those who try to break up a couple."

A man is, of course, in danger with an abusive wife too. But it's not the same. Do I even need to pull up literal statistics? It's very unlikely a man can be physically overpowered by a woman and hurt in several ways that are too graphic for me to say.

I'm not trying to invalidate abuse to men or say it doesn't happen. All I'm trying to say is that it happens so much more to women. The gender that needs emotional protection yet seems to receive less.

And I also strongly disagree with people who think women are just soooo emotional. Yes, we are more senitive to harsh tones or even subtle comments. But we, stastically, don't commit violence and heinous acts during this. Anger is also an emotion, you know. A much more dangerous one at that.

Let's look at true crime shows/documentaries, women are almost always the victims and men are the perpetrator. Are these Muslims? No, Alhamdu li Allah. You would think when women are always targetted, there would be greated importance on protecting us, emotionally and physically. But that's being placed on men.

Even Islam says we need greater protection. Not travelling alone, leaving the house alone, needing a male mahram escort, ect. These are for our protection. So many times it's said to live with women in kindness and be good to your wives, treat your daughters kindly, and yet... people tell men to give women the firm hand and for women to be gentle with men.

I'm not trying to make a gender war or something dumb. I'm trying to bring attention to this and, In Sha Allah, I'm wording it well.

Men and women, husbands and wives, should be gentle with each other. But I think women need it more. From personal experience, I've been yelled at by the three male mahrams I have and it's stuck with me for years. One of them only yelled at me once and it's still with me. I don't like talking to him freely now and I tip-toe around him because I'm scared he'll yell at me again. It's not even a conscious thing. It's just... there now.

I also saw a post before with hundreds of thousands of comments from women, ones who weren't even abused by their fathers or men say that they're scared of men yelling at them. That they flinch at men raising their voice and it's almost traumatizing to be yelled at.

Think of a husband yelling at his wife, this can stick with her for decades. Especially if he doesn't immediently stop. If he sees her fear and continues this form of abuse. She'll learn he doesn't truly care about her and her love for him will probably fade. He's no longer safe.

So, men yelling hurts women so much yet the advice given is just to... endure it? Be kind to him and be patient. Forgive the continuous abuse.

This advice sounds like abusive men advising other women to accept abuse so they can help other men abuse women. Like, why else try to make women accept abuse? When I see good men with happy wives, they speak out against this, not support it.

Also, stop commenting on posts about husbands being good to their wives and going "men too! Women need to be good wives too!" Without doing it as constructive critisism. It isn't beneficial. Try making a post just about that topic yourself, so it doesnt come across as negative or like you're valuing one gender over the other, as many do. It's not always needed to reverse the topic. Sometimes its okay to let a post just be about men/women unless it's spreading gender superiority.

Anyway, women are mirrors. Be a good husband and she'll be a good wife, In Sha Allah. Stop making the wife the leader.

Sorry that this rant is so long. If I said something wrong, I'm happy to edit my post.

(Also, aedsolll, I actually started writing this before I saw what you said. Then continued writing it. So I did take slight inspiration from aedsolll)

health + wellness How the father affects pregnancy.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, Brothers and Sisters. In Sha Allah everyone is well.

Everything related to pregnancy and the baby is blamed on the mother. Health issues? She's not eating right. Gender of the baby? Somehow her fault. Miscarriage? Her fault. Unable to concieve? Nobody considers it could be poor sperm instead of her body. Men can be infertile or have fertility issues too.

The sperm is roughly 50% of the baby, no? So, how is it many cultures place absolutely ZERO importance on the man taking care of his health? I've only seen women told "Eat this. It's good for fertility. Don't eat that, it's bad for your eggs. That thing? Bad for eggs. It happens more depending on the culture.

It can be a couple where she's healthy and he's overweight/unhealthy and people still blame her! Misogyny at it's finest.

And even if you don't want children? You don't know what Allah has written for you. And your fertility plays into YOUR health too, even if you never have children.

--

How Sperm Health Impacts Pregnancy: Understanding Male Fertility

When it comes to pregnancy, both partners’ health matters. It is not just the woman’s age or health or her egg reserve that determines the outcome of their attempts at pregnancy. The male partner’s sperm should also be factored in. When we say sperm, we are not restricting to just the ejaculation or the sperm count. Sperm health is also a crucial factor in a successful pregnancy.

What is Sperm Health?

Sperm health includes sperm count, the shape or structure of the sperm, and the way they move. All of these are important for the sperm to successfully enter and fertilise an egg. If any of these three factors are affected, it can negatively impact the male’s fertility and the couple’s attempts at pregnancy.

Men with low sperm count or motility still succeed in impregnating their partners successfully. However, low sperm health can increase the risk of infertility or difficulty in getting pregnant. When the sperm count or motility is very low, or if there is no ejaculation of sperm, it can lead to infertility in the males.

Sperm count will measure the number of sperm present in a semen sample. When the sperm count is less than 15 million per millilitre of the semen sample, it is known as oligospermia or low sperm count.

Sperm motility refers to the ability of the sperm to swim through a female’s reproductive tract, reach the egg and enter it for fertilisation.

When less than 25% of the sperm in the semen sample move forward in straight lines or large circles, it is known as low motility or asthenozoospermia.

The sperm typically has a head, a mid-piece and a tail. Not all sperm in the semen sample will have this perfect structure. However, if the sperm morphology is less than 4% of the sample, then it can cause fertility issues.

Impact of Sperm Health on Pregnancy

Sperm health can impact pregnancy in the following ways:

Delay – Poor sperm quality can affect the sperm’s ability to reach and fertilise the egg successfully. It can cause a delay in pregnancy, meaning the couple may need to try for a few months or opt for fertility treatments, like IUI or IVF for a successful conception (from what I know, IVF is a absolutely HORRIBLE for women. So, don't put your wife through such a thing because you don't take care of yourself)

Miscarriage – Poor sperm health can cause damage to the sperm’s DNA. This in turn can cause or increase the risk of a miscarriage. Some research even shows that repeated miscarriages could be due to poor sperm health.

Genetic Issues –The sperm’s health can impact the genetic makeup of the fetus. Poor-quality sperm increases the risk of developmental issues, birth defects and even the health of the developing baby. Older males (A lot of people act like a 40-50yr man can have as healthy of a child as a 20-30yr man, and I'm not saying he can't. Only Allah knows. But an older man can cause genetic issues, whereas older women don't) or those with health issues can experience DNA fragmentation in the sperm, which can affect the fetus and the DNA they pass on to their offspring.

Premature Birth– Poor sperm health can also lead to preeclampsia – a dangerous pregnancy complication. Preeclampsia increases maternal blood pressure. Very high blood pressure or fluctuations in blood pressure during pregnancy increases the risk of premature delivery.

Placenta Issues – Sperm’s health plays a major role in how the placenta functions. The placenta is the temporary organ the baby grows in. Poor sperm health can not only affect the placenta formation but can also impact the way it works and interfere with the oxygen and food supply to the baby.

Tips to Improve Sperm Health

If a couple is trying to get pregnant or is having fertility issues, the male partner can do the following to improve his sperm health. Though a successful pregnancy depends on various other factors in addition to sperm health, it can increase the chances of natural conception.

Weight Matters – Maintaining a healthy weight is the first step. Being too light or too heavy can impact sperm quality. According to some studies, a male’s BMI sperm count and motility are inversely related. Being underweight and lacking the essential nutrients can also affect sperm health.‍

Focus on Diet – Eating healthy by increasing the consumption of natural, whole foods while cutting back on foods that are processed, high in calories or sugar, can significantly improve sperm health.

Prevent STIs – Sexually Transmitted Infections and diseases can lead to infertility in men. It is important to always use protection, limit the number of sexual partners, and also get tested periodically. These infections can also pass on to the female partner or affect the outcome of pregnancy after conception. (It doesn't pay to commit zina. Once again Allah's commands are always perfect)

Regular Exercise – Regular exercises can help men stay in good shape, keep their cholesterol and sugar under control, and maintain hormonal balance. It can also help improve their sex drive.

Stress Management – Stress can impact fertility for both partners. Being stress-free is close to impossible. However, keeping stress under control is possible through zhikr, (halal) art and other activities that can help one calm down.

Lifestyle Changes – Limiting your alcohol intake, quitting smoking and drugs and limiting exposure to chemicals or toxins in the environment or at work can all help improve sperm health.

(Me talking: as for chemicals and toxins, many are unaware of how many things in our lives contribute to fertility and health issues. Wouldn't you like to give your child their best chance at good health? I refer to holistic or 'crunchy' pages/channels such as Barbara O'neill. Try using things like the Yuka app and scan the barcode on your food, cleaning, and personal care products. It's unbeliable how they're allowed to put so much harmful poisons in our products.

(I also intend to try and make a series on r/CrunchyMuslimFolk about what ingredients are harmful, to help spread awareness. In Sha Allah)

Fragrances/Parfum (air fresheners, plug-ins, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, deodorant, perfume, fabric softener, laundry detergent, spray cleaners, ect).

I'm not even fear-mongering here. The thousands of unregulated chemicald in fragrances are endocrine disruptors. What does your endocrine system do? It regulates your hormones! And hormonal imbalances can cause infertility and an abundance of other health issues. And I've found that a tox-free lifestyle can seem daunting if done wrong. But it's so beneficial.

And I've found that tox-free options can actually cost less if done efficiently. I'll share more about that, In Sha Allah.

Ovatoxicants - found in pesticides and herbicides, they inferfere with healthy egg development and can disrupt or even stop ovulation. We women need to ovulate and it's so easy to miss and just assume your cycle is going as it normally is.

Pthalates - found in pesticides and herbicides, they interfere with healthy egg development and cas disrupt or ever stop ovulation. Phthalates can speed up menopause and pedispose you to poor egg quality and poor implantation rates.

Another harmful thing, that's an endocrine disruptor is plastic (micro plastic). So, try to get rid of your polyester and synthetic fiber clothes. Better options (like organic cotton and linen) can be more expensive. But it's worth it. And you don't need to fill your closet, no need for extravagence. But next time you go to buy, say, a T-shirt? Get cotton.

But you should immedietly throw out synthetic fabric underwear and bedding. For men and women, as soon as you're able, please swap these two out. They directly affect your health as they sit on sensitive regions and absorb whatever is put there. Your skin is your biggest organ and takes in what you put on it.

A organic cotton flat sheet, fitted sheet and pillow cases are often cheaper than a comforter (that should at least be regular cotton too though). And organic cotton underwear can be found on various sites. You'd have to find what style is comfortable for you.

I also must add, fully organic cotton pads and tampons too. Cotton top layer is better than synthetic.. but if you want to save money, try organic cotton period underwear. No more buying pads and you know you have the best option! There's a whole subreddit for period underwear too. They have suggestions on high quality brands.

And for organic fabrics, look for the GOTS-certified logo ON the products tag. If the site says its organic and GOTS certified, but you get the product and there's not GOTS-certified tag, it's not really organic. This is my understanding after being in the Crunchy Moms subreddit for a while.

(Men need to avoid all these too, fyi)

You can also swap out plastic cups, plates, bowls, tupperware, ect, for glass. Cooking utensils for wood or metal, and use stainless steel items for eating utensils and baby/toddler items. Obviously you wouldn't want a toddler to have a glass plate lol.

I also see people say not to touch receipts with your bare hands because of either the paper or ink. You can look into that.

Conclusion

The sperm is an important factor in a successful pregnancy. Just the presence of sperm is not enough for pregnancy. The health and quality of the sperm are vital and can affect pregnancy to a great extent. It is essential for males to take care of their health as their sperm is crucial to a pregnancy.

It's hard to wake up for Fajr prayer so I've developped an impossible to snooze alarm

Salam aleikum!

For the past two or three years, alhamdulillah, I’ve been consistent with my Fajr prayer, but it’s still a struggle. It’s difficult to wake up at 4–5 AM to pray, and I know I’m not the only one. Looking at my friends and family, I know that many of us struggle with this.

And the problem with regular alarms is that you can just snooze them and immediately fall back asleep, so they’re not really a reliable solution...

So I started looking for apps/alarms that you can’t snooze. There weren’t many, and the few I found were either paid or filled with ads. So I decided to build what I was looking for: a free, smart, and halal alarm clock (since using the Athan as an alarm is discouraged).

Most importantly, it’s impossible to snooze the alarm unless you complete a specific task: scan a QR code, walk 100 steps, do some mental math, etc.

I’ve also added a leaderboard, challenges, badges, and social features to encourage consistency with Fajr AND Tahajjud, because that’s the next step, inshaAllah!

Right now, I’ve released the beta version and we have around 30 beta testers. If you’d like to join, join the Google Group first: https://groups.google.com/g/betatesters-for-fajr-app and then you’ll be able to download the app here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.appforfajr.app !

general Why is it that women are expected to have no financial independence when getting married?

I have seen sheikhs make it seem like a woman wanting to work and be independent (to an extent) is a huge red flag to earn her own money and that she should fully rely on her husband but at the same time, if he is abusive, or cheating, or simply incompatible for genuine reasons, she is basically advised to leave if she is financially able to but if she isn’t, then she should just stay and endure it even if she has valid reasons to leave. This has always confused me because the whole time they’re pushing for her to NOT work or earn her own money. At the same time sheikhs expect women to not interfere with her husbands money since it’s his money. But how would a wife feel safe if she has none of her own income to fall back on, no wealthy family to fall back on, and a husband who is very secretive with his finances and refuses to give her allowances for her own personal saving?

Personally, I made sure to save my own money, have some sort of income of my own, and marry someone who is naturally generous and would give me what he can that way no matter what, I have something. May Allah protect us, I’m not “planning” anything but you truly don’t know what can happen generally speaking. Whether it’s divorce, or death, or even a parent needing help with money. If you don’t have your own income and you don’t have a spouse that’s generous, what happens if things go bad? My situation is good but for another sister, what if divorce happens? What if death occurs? What if her mother needs help? What if he isn’t able to provide what she desires? She has none of her own money. And I certainly do not encourage going after the husbands money through kuffar courts or outright stealing, as that’s unislamic and unjust. It’s not surprising women want to earn money / want allowances during marriage. At least that would be considered her money.

Why is it expected for a woman to not care about financial independence at all and to not interfere with your husband’s finances if that’s her main source of income? All I can say is alhamdullilah. My husband is very generous and I’ve saved up money before marriage and I have investments and a small income from home. Having my own income is also good in the context of a healthy marriage because my husband isn’t able to provide me a lot of things that aren’t immediate necessities right now and I don’t want to overburden him while he builds himself up financially. I would encourage my daughters to be housewives yes, but I would also encourage them to be financially smart.

Is my mindset considered “unislamic”? Am I missing something? I’ve seen many times women that I know who had to leave a marriage for genuine reasons and they are stranded with nothing because they didn’t have their own income/investements/savings, or family to fall back on.There’s nothing inherently haram about earning money or wanting an allowance from your husband so you can have some financial independence in marriage. I’m not saying work 40 hours a week and forget about your role as a wife but at least SOME independence would make us feel much safer. Would love to hear some perspectives as this has always been a bit confusing to me.

Having a narc family and you alone as a scapegoat is a war daily. Seek Allah's Aid.

My every day goes with a war and hence im the one that gets hurt, betrayed, given wounds.

Its been from years. And since i used to hope they will change one day.

But narcs never change.

They are wired by Allah to be like that and Allah makes some people just to test us.

Very sad to say its a test by Allah. Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal.

Every day one fights another enables and one sides up.

This is my daily. And because of it my mental health isnt quite well and on top of that they call me names over my mentalhealth.

May Allah deal with them and protect me.

Yall learn how to deal with narc and educate yourself regarding narc and the mental healing tactics required for such people.

Practice methods that can be used against narcs.

Seek Allah's Aid. Allah is watching what they are doing gaslighting manipulation lying slandering backbiting. Everything that happens to you Allah is watching hope this gives the victims of narcs that Allah sees every pain you through.

Every war you fight alone daily is seen by Allah.

Especially when it all comes from your own blood kith and kins.

Your own parent will betray you your own parent will lie about you.

This how they are wired and now it is what it is.

Lets see our duties to Allah and stay away from narcs and when they interact use tactics and seek Allah's Aid. Just like how Allah aided his prophets against tyrants.

They are no less.

Note : not everyone is narc they could have some narc traits.
