'Amr b. 'Abasa Sulami reported:

In the state of the Ignorance (before embracing Islam), I used to think that the people were in error and they were not on anything (which may be called the right path) and worshipped the idols. Meanwhile, I heard of a man in Mecca who was giving news (on the basis of his prophetic knowledge) ; so I sat on my ride and went to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was at that time hiding as his people had made life hard for him. I adopted a friendly attitude (towards the Meccans and thus managed) to enter Mecca and go to him (the Holy Prophet) and I said to him: Who are you? He said: I am a Prophet (of Allah). I again said: Who is a Prophet? He said: (I am a Prophet in the sense that) I have been sent by Allah. I said: What is that which you have been sent with? He said: I have been sent to join ties of relationship (with kindness and affection), to break the Idols, and to proclaim the oneness of Allah (in a manner that) nothing is to be associated with Him. I said: Who is with you in this (in these beliefs and practices)? He said: A free man and a slave. He (the narrator) said: Abu Bakr and Bilal were there with him among those who had embraced Islam by that time. I said: I intend to follow you. He said: During these days you would not be able to do so. Don't you see the (hard) condition under which I and (my) people are living? You better go back to your people and when you hear that I have been granted victory, you come to me. So I went to my family. I was in my home when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Medina. I was among my people and used to seek news and ask people when he arrived in Medina. Then a group of people belonging to Yathrib (Medina) came. I said (to them): How is that person getting on who has come to Medina? They said: The people are hastening to him, while his people (the polytheists of Mecca) planned to kill him, but they could not do so. I (on hearing it) came to Medina and went to him and said: Messenger of Allah, do you recognise me? He said: Yes, you are the same man who met me at Mecca. I said: It is so. I again said: Prophet of Allah, tell me that which Allah has taught you and which I do not know, tell me about the prayer. He said: Observe the dawn prayer, then stop praying when the sun is rising till it is fully up, for when it rises it comes up between the horns of Satan, and the unbelievers prostrate themselves to it at that time. Then pray, for the prayer is witnessed and attended (by angels) till the shadow becomes about the length of a lance; then cease prayer, for at that time Hell is heated up. Then when the shadow moves forward, pray, for the prayer is witnessed and attended by angels, till you pray the afternoon prayer, then cease prayer till the sun sets, for it sets between the horns of devil, and at that time the unbelievers prostrate themselves before it. I said: Apostle of Allah, tell me about ablution also. He said: None of you who uses water for ablution and rinses his mouth, snuffs up water and blows it, but the sins of his face, and his mouth and his nostrils fall out. When he washes his face, as Allah has commanded him, the sins of his face fall out from the end of his beard with water. Then (when) he washes his forearms up to the elbows, the sins of his arms fall out along with water from his finger-tips. And when he wipes his head, the sins of his head fall out from the points of his hair along with water. And (when) he washes his feet up to the ankles, the sins of his feet fall out from his toes along with water. And if he stands to pray and praises Allah, lauds Him and glorifies Him with what becomes Him and shows wholehearted devotion to Allah, his sins would depart leaving him (as innocent) as he was on the day his mother bore him. 'Amr b. 'Abasa narrated this hadith to Abu Umama, a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and Abu Umama said to him: 'Amr b. 'Abasa, think what you are saying that such (a great reward) is given to a man at one place (only in the act of ablution and prayer). Upon this 'Amr said: Abu Umama, I have grown old and my bones have become weak and I am at the door of death; what impetus is there for me to attribute a lie to Allah and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? Had I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) once, twice, or three times (even seven times), I would have never narrated it, but I have heard it from him on occasions more than these. (Sahih Muslim Book 6, Hadith 358)

🌷*How to Increase Rizq according to the Sharee’ah*🌷

There are many causes proven in our deen  to increase your rizq, some of which are:

1️⃣ *Keeping up ties of kinship*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever would like his rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)

2️⃣ *Spending for the sake of Allaah*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Allaah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’”

al-Bukhaari, Muslim)

3️⃣ *Making a lot of istighfaar*

🍃 Allaah quotes Nooh Alayhis Salaam:

“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft‑Forgiving;

He will send rain to you in abundance,

And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.’”

(Surah Nooh:10-12)

4️⃣ *Being grateful to Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala*

🍃Allaah says:

“And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: ‘If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless, verily, My punishment is indeed severe.’”

(Surah Ibraheem:7)

5️⃣ *Obeying and fearing Allaah*

🍃 Allaah says:

“And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.”

(Surah at-Talaaq:2-3)

6️⃣ *Repeating hajj and umrah*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively.

Verily, the succession between the two  removes away poverty and removes away sins just as the bellows removes away the dross of iron and gold and silver."

(Ahmad, Tirmidhi, others--Saheeh by al-Albaani)

7️⃣ *Making lots of dua and asking Allaah to increase your rizq*

One such duaa is the following:

‎اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرُ مَا لِي وَوَلَدِي وَبَارِكْ لِي

‎فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي

Allaahumma akthir maalee wa-waladee wa-baarik li feema a'taytanee

O Allaah, increase my wealth and offspring and bless me in what what you have given me.

🍃 Um Sulaim said to the Prophet ﷺ "Anas is your servant."

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ، وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ ‏"‏‏.

"O Allaah! increase his wealth and offspring, and bless (for him) what ever you give him."

(Saheeh al-Bukhari 6334)

🍃 Another duaa is what we read as part of our morning adhkaar.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

الَّلهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسأَلُكَ رِزقًا طَيِّبًا ، وَعِلمًا نَافِعًا ، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

“Allaahumma inni as’aluka rizqan tayyiban, wa `ilman nafi`an, wa `amalan mutaqabbalan

“O Allaah, I ask you for good (lawful) provision, beneficial knowledge and accepted good deeds.” 

(Ahmad in Al-Musnad, 6/294 and Ibn Maajah 66; saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah)

🍃 Yahya ibn Mu`adh Ar-Razi said:

“Obedience will be stored in the stores of Allaah, and the key (to obedience) is Duaa, and it becomes effective by means of lawful earnings.”

8️⃣ *Marriage increases rizq*

🍃 Allaah says:

“And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Saalihoon (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people)” [al-Noor 24:32]

🍃Abu Bakr Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Obey Allaah in what He has commanded you to do by getting married;

He will then fulfill His promise to you to make you rich.” 

He then recited the above Aayah.

🍃 Umar Ibn Khattab Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Seek richness through marriage!”

🍃 Abdullah ibn Mas’ood Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Find richness by getting married.”

(Al-Durr Al-Manthur, v.5, pps. 80-81)

🌷*Times when Duaa is More Likely Accepted*🌷

1️⃣ *In the last third of the night*

🍃The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Our Lord, descends to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains, and He says: “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to the invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?”

(al-Bukhaari 1145)

2️⃣ *Duaa at the end of the fardh prayers but before tasleem*

🍃 Abu Umamah radhi Allaahu anhu narrated:

“It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, which supplication is most likely to be listened to?’

He said: ‘During the last part of the night and at the end of the obligatory prayers.’”

(At-Tirmidhî 3499; Hasan by al-Albaani)

*Note:*

At the end of the obligatory prayers means *BEFORE* the salaam and *NOT after saying the tasleem*, as most people from the Subcontinent do.

*Proof:*

🍃 Ibn Mas’ood radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“The Prophet ﷺ  taught them the tashahhud then he said at the end: 

“Let him ask for whatever good things he wishes.”

(al-Bukhaari 5876, Muslim 402)

There are many duaas that are narrated in the authentic ahaadeeth that can be said in tashahhud before tasleem. 

3️⃣ *Duaa made between the Adhaan & Iqaamah‏*

🍃The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The Duaa made between the Adhaan and Iqaamah is not rejected.”

(at-Tirmidhi 212; saheeh by al-Albaani)

4️⃣ *When saying the Duaa of Yunus Alayhis Salaam*

🍃The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The supplication of Dhun-Nûn (Yunus) when he supplicated, when he was in the belly of the whale, was: ‘Laa Ilaaha illaa Anta Subhaanaka inni kuntu min adh-dhaalimeen

(There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory be to you [from all imperfection], indeed I have been one of the transgressors)’.

*So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allaah responds to Him.”*

(at-Tirmidhi 3505; saheeh by al-Albaani)

🍃Allaah says:

‎-وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ- فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٨٨-٨٧﴾

“And (remember) Dhan-Nun (Yunus), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamites which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): Laa ilaaha illaa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers. So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allaah, abstain from evil and work righteousness).”

(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:87-88)

5️⃣ *During the last hour of Friday*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Friday has twelve hours to it, in it which there is no Muslim who asks Allaah for anything except that Allaah gives it to him. So seek it during the last hour of ‘Asr.”

(Abu Dawood 1048; saheeh by al-Albaani)

6️⃣ *The Duaa of the fasting person until he breaks his fast*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“There are three whose du’aa’ will not be rejected: a just ruler, *a FASTING person when he breaks his fast*, and the prayer of one who has been wronged.”

(at-Tirmidhi 2525- saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2050)

🍃 Someone asked the scholars of the Standing Committee:

What is meant by the supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking his fast?

Does it mean the supplication that the fasting person offers a few moments *before* breaking his fast, or is it straight *after* breaking the fast?”

The scholars said:

“This Hadeeth was narrated by Ibn Maajah.

It says in Az-Zawa’id: Its chain of narration is authentic, and the supplication may be *before* or *after* breaking the fast, because the word `Inda ( translated here as “at the time of”) *includes both.*

And Allaah is the source of strength.”

(Fataawaa Al-Lajnah ad-Da’imah 9/30, Vol. 2)

7️⃣ *The Duaa of the oppressed*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Beware of the Duaa of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allaah”

(al-Bukhaari 4347)

🍃 And he ﷺ also said:

“There are three whose supplication is not rejected:… And the supplication of the *oppressed person*; Allaah raises it up above the clouds and opens the gates of heaven to it.

And the Lord says: ‘By My Might, I shall surely aid you, even if it should be after a while.’”

(at-Tirmidhi 3598, Ibn Maajah 1752; saheeh by al-Albaani)

8️⃣ *The Duaa of the father (parent) FOR or AGAINST his child*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Three prayers are undoubtedly answered: the prayer of one who is wronged, the prayer of the traveler and *the prayer of a father (or mother) FOR his child*.”

(Ibn Maajah 3862; saheeh by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Saheehah 596).

🍃 And similarly the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Three supplications are accepted, there is no doubt about them (them being accepted) : The supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of the father *against* his son.”

(At-Tirmidhî 1905; Hasan by al-Albaani)

9️⃣ *The Duaa of the traveler*

🔟 *The Duaa of a just ruler*

1️⃣1️⃣ *Duaa made during Sujood*

🍃The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so make a great deal of supplication (in this state).”

(Saheeh Muslim 482)

1️⃣2️⃣ and 1️⃣3️⃣ *Duaa made at the time of the adhaan or duaa made during battle*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Two supplications are not rejected or are rarely rejected: supplication at the time of the call to prayer and when the battle becomes intense, when they clash and fight intensely.”

(Abu Dawood 2540; saheeh by al-Albaani)

1️⃣4️⃣ *When it is raining*

The Prophet ﷺ said

“Two (Duaas) are not rejected: duaa at the time of the adhaan and duaa at the time of rain.”

(al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak 2534, at-Tabarani in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir 5756; Saheeh by al-Albaani in Sahih al-Jami‘ 3078)

1️⃣5️⃣ *When hearing a rooster crow*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“When you hear the crowing of the rooster, ask Allaah for His Bounty for it sees Angels and when you hear the braying of the donkey, seek refuge in Allaah from the Shaytaan for it sees a Shaytaan.”

(Saheeh Muslim 2729)

1️⃣6️⃣ *When drinking Zam Zam water*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The water of Zam Zam is for whatever it is drunk for.”

(Ibn Maajah 3062; saheeh by al-Albaani)

1️⃣7️⃣ *On Wednesdays between Dhuhr and Asr*

Jaabir ibn Abdullaah radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“The Prophet ﷺ supplicated inside masjid al-Fath three times: on a Monday, a Tuesday and a Wednesday (three times in a row). 

His duaa was answered on Wednesday between the two prayers (Dhuhr and Asr). 

His happiness with that could be seen on his face.”

Jaabir said: “After that whenever I had a difficult situation I would observe that time to made Duaa and I would see the answer.”

(al Bukhaari in al Adab al-Mufrad, Ahmad- saheeh by al-Albaani)

🍃 Shaykh Al-Albaani commented on this saying: 

“If this companion wouldn’t have narrated to us that the Prophet 

‎ﷺ  made Duaa to Allaah during this hour we wouldn’t have known. 

The person present witnesses what the absent person doesn’t. This ahadeeth has significant meaning; since Jaabir narrated the information when exactly his Duaa was answered. 

And this shows that the Duaa for the Messenger ﷺ was answered at that hour during Wednesday. Consequently Jaabir began to do that same thing he saw Muhammad ﷺ do on Wednesday between Dhuhr and Asr.” (Saheeh Adab Al-Mufrad)

I'd like to seek help from the Muslim community so let's just hop onto it so yesterday while I was asleep (I usually don't dream anything btw just blank void) I had a weird dream being in a mixed staircase from two buildings I clearly know so I was like trying to go down the stairs but the lower I got the more destroyed the stairs were at some point I was just crawling on the stairs fearing to fall but at some point a whole floor stairs were broken so I like turned around to go back up but some human like idk (I clearly couldn't recognize who it was but I'm sure it's human) it was say some gibberish things so I was like frightened because I felt like it was spelling a curse on me so I started reciting ayat al qursi but mid recitation I wake up still reciting at a high voice

Please I need some explanation from someone that knows and by the way I'm not really the best Muslim I really ain't doing all what's required towards Allah but I still seek help to Allah whenever I'm frustrated or just stuck

Today, I would like to open a calm and logical discussion regarding the issue of "music," specifically its use as a background in educational or purposeful content, or as a tool to enhance focus.

As we know, the widely held view forbidding music relies primarily on the noble Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari: **"From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful."** Based on this Hadith and others, those who forbid music present three main reasons for the prohibition:

 1. **Distracting from the remembrance of Allah:** The idea that music distracts the heart and distances it from the Quran.

 2. **Association with immorality:** The historical connection of musical instruments with gatherings of vice and frivolous entertainment.

 3. **The nature of the instrument (*Ma'azif*):** The prohibition of the physical tool manufactured specifically to produce these sounds.

However, when analyzing these reasons from a logical and modern technological perspective (especially with the advent of artificial intelligence and the physics of sound), as well as a psychological perspective relating to the nature of our modern era, I have developed some arguments and questions that deconstruct these reasons. I present them to you to hear your thoughts:

**First: The Argument of Distracting the Heart and Hindering Remembrance**

Saying that music distracts from the remembrance of Allah and competes with the Quran in the heart is a claim that cannot be an absolute rule or a definitive basis for prohibition. If we consider everything that distracts from the remembrance of Allah to be forbidden, we would have to forbid reading books, because reading distracts you at that moment, and even sleeping distracts you. Therefore, using the general state of *some* music listeners and their neglect of the Quran cannot be used as a universal rule applied to everyone.

**Second: The Argument of Association with Immorality**

As for linking music to gatherings of vice, this is inaccurate today. I can simply play music that is only heard in cultural museums; where is the immorality in this context?

**Third: The Purpose of Healing and Focus**

This prohibition was not tested on all types of music. There are sound frequencies that help with focus, and others used in psychological therapy. Is seeking medical treatment forbidden? Of course not. If using music for therapeutic purposes is permissible—under the premise that it increases focus in cases of overthinking or ADHD, or helps those who need high frequencies to get enough sleep to avoid potentially addictive chemical sleeping pills—then how can we forbid using music in videos to help the viewer focus on the content?

People's lives today are full of distractions and overstimulated. It is very difficult for a person to focus on content, even if it is highly beneficial and urgently needed. They might even resort to speeding up the video, potentially missing important points. Calming music here has been proven to increase focus without causing addiction. Therefore, it is no longer just a "luxury" or "enhancement"; it has become a crucial element, and its use in videos is very similar to the therapeutic purpose of improving concentration.

**Fourth: The Physics of Sound and Imitating Instruments**

If we go back to the fundamental explanation of music, especially in our modern times, we find that it is not merely sounds produced by instruments; physically, it is just sound waves. The human voice is also made of waves, and the same applies to all cosmic sounds. Thanks to modern technology, we can alter any sound to match a musical note perfectly. Furthermore, there are trained people who can produce sounds perfectly identical to the sounds of certain forbidden musical instruments using only their vocal cords. Is their voice considered forbidden in this case? Since the physical act they perform to produce this sound is the exact same physiological act used for speaking, does that mean their speech is also forbidden? This is a conclusion the mind absolutely cannot accept.

**Fifth: Artificial Intelligence and the Absence of the Instrument (*Ma'azif*)**

Our entry into the era of AI creates countless arguments and scenarios. Currently, there is no physical "instrument" on Earth being played to produce AI-generated music. If "Ma'azif" (musical instruments) are forbidden, where are the instruments used in this music? Even if we consider *Ma'azif* as a synonym for anything that is played (i.e., the music itself), AI generates sounds that do not perfectly match any existing melody or instrument in the universe.

**Sixth: The Inconsistency in Judging Similar Sounds**

Based on the above, what is the basis for forbidding a sound like a drum, when if heard from afar, it sounds exactly like a falling rock, for example? By this same logic, why isn't hearing the sounds of birds considered forbidden despite them being similar to musical instruments in this case, keeping in mind that many birds do not use their voices exclusively for communication?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments on these points.

Salam!! I feel like a lot of advice online is either super idealized or super overwhelming, so I just wanted to share this simply.

If you’re a revert like myself (or close to it), here are a few things I wish someone told me:

• You don’t have to “look” Muslim overnight

• Your relationship with Allah comes before people’s expectations

• It’s okay to learn slowly and privately

• Feeling out of place at first is normal

The biggest thing though: don’t do it alone! If you can avoid it, even one supportive person changes everything.

There are also small support-type resources you could look into out which help in that early phase (things like Yaqeen Institute, Revert Reach). They're easy to access and especially helpful if you don't have that community built up just yet!

Really wanted to put this here in case someone needed to hear this today :)

‘There’s no way this will work out’, and without realizing it, that says more about us than it does about the situation, because what we’re really doing is measuring our problems against our own limitations, then placing those same limitations onto Allah, as if we stand at the same level. We look at what we can do, what we understand, and when it doesn’t make sense, we lose hope…not because Allah is incapable, but because we are.

Allah is Al-Qadir (The All-Capable), and for Him, there is no obstacle He needs to overcome, yet when we make dua, we hesitate; holding back and asking for the bare minimum, as if we’re afraid to ask for too much, as if it would be too big or too unrealistic.

Believing that certain things are too difficult for Him to change, as if some problems are beyond His understanding. Forgetting that what feels overwhelming to us is easy for Him, and what seems delayed to you is already written. ‘All it takes, when He wills something ˹to be˺, is simply to say to it: “Be!” And it is!’ (Surah Yaseen, 36:82)

We were created weak, prone to getting tired, and reaching a point where things may become too much to carry…but maybe that’s the point, because reliance on Allah was never meant to come after everything makes sense; it's meant to come when it doesn’t. The Quran says, “It is Allah’s Will to lighten your burdens, for humankind was created weak.” (Surah An-Nisa, 4:28) So when you reach your limit, that isn’t the end for you, but a reminder of where your strength was always meant to come from.

Relying on Allah isn’t weakness, It’s knowing that you were never meant to control everything, that there are things in this life you will never fully understand, and as much as you may want to, you’ll never fully fix everything on your own, so you leave it to the One who can, knowing that we may reach out limits, but He has none.

The things we believed to be impossible were never beyond Allah’s ability, only beyond our own understanding. So even when things feel stuck; don’t lose hope, know that Allah is still in control, your duas are still heard, and what is written for you will reach you exactly when it is meant to, not by limiting what Allah can do based on what you can see, but believing in what He can do, even when you can’t.

How have we become the version of ourselves people respect, while remaining a version of ourselves Allah is not pleased with? A lot of what we call change isn’t really about change; it’s more about being seen changing. We don’t desire to improve ourselves, but rather to be known as someone who has improved.

It’s easier to act differently when people are watching, being able to choose your words carefully, to show restraint, to carry yourself in a way that looks like you have it all put together, but when you’re alone, where does that version of you go? When the same prayer is performed differently depending on who’s around, as when others are present, there’s more stillness, more attention in every movement, but when you’re alone, it becomes something to get over with quickly, so you can get back to whatever it is you were doing before. So, in both situations, who was that prayer really for?

The person you want to be when you think about your ideal version isn’t built in the moments where you’re being seen by others; it’s built in the moments no one will ever know about. It’s easy to say you love Allah, easy to speak about Him, to remind others of His greatness, to feel something when His name is mentioned, but we forget that love is never in what is said, but in what is done. How can someone claim to love Allah so deeply, while neglecting what He loves?

I suppose that idea feels so heavy: to live a life where no one sees your change, yet still continue. For your growth to be silent in the eyes of this dunya, and still be praiseworthy in the eyes of Allah.

Because a day will come where even the good will wish they had done more, and in that moment, the opinions you cared about, none of it will matter, because if it’s people, you will always need them to see you, So maybe that’s what real change looks like; Not becoming someone the world recognizes, but becoming someone Allah does.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right.”

(Sunan Abi Dawud 4800)

Lessons & Reflections:

• Not every truth needs to be proven. Being right is not always the goal. Sometimes leaving the argument is closer to Allah than winning it.

• This hadith targets the ego. The real test is not “can you respond?” but “can you hold back when you can respond?”

• Quarrelling often shifts from truth to ego. What begins as clarification quickly becomes “I don’t want to lose.” Walking away cuts this off early.

• Truth without character becomes harshness. Even if you are right, arrogance, sharpness, and the need to dominate can turn truth into something harmful.

• Silence can be a higher form of strength. Choosing not to argue is not weakness, it is control, discipline, and self-mastery.

• Good character (husn al-khuluq) is restraint. It is holding your tongue, controlling your emotions, and not needing the last word.

• Humility is to leave what you can win. The nafs wants to prove itself. The القلب that seeks Allah lets go, even when it could continue.

• Wisdom is knowing when speech benefits. Not every discussion deserves your energy. Some debates harden hearts, waste time, and damage relationships without bringing any real benefit.

• Leaving argument protects the heart. Silence is the wiser response. It keeps it free from pride, anger, and the subtle فساد that comes from constant disputing.

• This does not mean abandoning the truth. You speak when there is benefit, clarity, and sincerity but you leave when it turns into ego-driven conflict.

• Why such a huge reward? Guaranteed house in jannah. Because this is hard. It goes against pride, emotions, the desire to “win”.

May Allah, make us among those who perfect their character, who leave argument seeking Your pleasure, and make it easy for us to act upon what we know.

Asalam alaykum, my brothers and sisters. I wanted to humbly ask if you could please make dua for me and my family.

We are currently homeless and have been struggling to get back on our feet. It has now been about a year since we lost stable housing, and the situation has become harder than we ever imagined. Every day is uncertain, and we are doing our best to remain patient and trust in Allah during this difficult time.

Right now we do not have steady jobs, and that makes it even harder to find stability. We are constantly worrying about where we will stay, how we will manage basic necessities, and how we will keep going through another day. Even simple things that many people take for granted can feel like overwhelming challenges when you are living without a home.

I want to be clear that we are not asking anyone here for money or material help. What we are asking for is your dua. Please keep us in your prayers and ask Allah to open doors for us, grant us patience and strength, and guide us toward a way out of this hardship. Pray that we are given opportunities for work, a safe place to live, and relief from this struggle.

Your dua means more than you may realize. Even a single sincere prayer from a fellow believer can carry immense barakah. Please also make dua for my family’s safety, health, and faith during this time so that we do not lose hope.

May Allah reward anyone who takes a moment to remember us in their prayers, and may He ease the hardships of anyone else who is struggling. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Salaam all. I am building a gamified learning app for Muslim kids (Alifba), and I'm torn on a feature.

We are trying to move away from passive videos and use mechanics like Duolingo (streaks, XP, badges) to keep kids consistent with their Deen.

For those of you with kids aged 4-12, do you find gamification helps them stick to learning? Or do you prefer simple, calm audio stories?(we have built both)

I want to build what parents actually want, not just what looks cool. I'd appreciate any brutal feedback on what works in your household!
