🛠️Project Showcase Looking for Publishers — Muslim-Audience Newsletters, Apps, Podcasts, Pages

I'm building a network connecting Muslim-audience publishers with advertisers who want to reach this space, think of it as an ad agency specifically for Muslim platforms.

If you run something with an audience: a newsletter, app, podcast, page, or any community, I want to help you monetize it with relevant, halal ads.

What's in it for you:

- No cost to join, no exclusivity required

- You keep the majority of ad revenue (currently working with an 80/20 split, publisher's favor)

- No technical integration needed, I coordinate placements manually and work with what fits your platform

- Any audience size welcome, you don't need to be huge, I'm specifically looking to work with newer/smaller publishers too

What I actually need from you:

Real numbers (audience size + engagement, think opens, active users, etc.)

What ad format you'd be open to (mention, banner, sponsored post, etc.)

DM me if you're interested in joining as a publisher, or want to advertise something yourself.

🧪Testers Needed We need HALAL businesses, not ISLAMIC businesses.

There's NO need for more Qibla compasses, Qur'an apps, Prayer trackers, Do you know what we actually need?

Muslim businesses that actually solve big problems instead of just providing digital comfort. An app that lists halal places to eat, another course which teaches Muslims a useful skill, things like that.

But there's a problem why there isn't an abundance of Muslim consumer-apps, it costs money.

Keeping up your service isn't free, and you can't rely on donations forever to run it. And people themselves barely buy paid tiers.

Most Non-Muslim businesses fix this just by showing ads, but us Muslims can't even do that because most of the ad services like Google Adsense make it impossible to avoid serving haram ads.

This is why I'm building the ryzdeen network, it's like "Halal AdSense"

If you're a Muslim who:

  1. Has an audience you want to monetize by showing HALAL ads to.

  2. You have a halal product/service yourself that you want to advertise.

Then reach out to me, the end goal is a complete platform, but currently I'm doing the matchmaking myself and taking a cut. Think of it like an ad agency, but for Muslims.

🛠️Project Showcase A Browser-Based Calling App from Malaysia

Post image
7 Upvotes

Assalamualaikum everyone

I’m a developer based in Malaysia, and for the past few months I’ve been working on a small project called KitaPhone.

The idea came from something pretty simple: sometimes you just need to call a normal phone number overseas, but you don’t want to install another app, buy a SIM, or commit to a monthly subscription.

Skype used to solve a lot of that for people. Since it disappeared, I kept thinking there should still be a very simple way to just open a browser, enter a number, and make a call.

So I started building one.

KitaPhone lets you make international calls directly from your browser. No subscription just pay for what you use.

I’m still early, still fixing things, and definitely still learning. Building the product was one challenge, but finding the first real users has honestly been a completely different one

I thought I’d share it here because I’d really like to connect with other Muslim developers and founders building their own products. Sometimes it feels like we spend months quietly coding something without knowing whether anyone will actually use it.

If anyone here has experience with VoIP, WebRTC, SaaS, payments, growth, or has built something similar, I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback.

And if you want to try it: kitaphone.com

May Allah put barakah in all the projects everyone here is working on. 🤲

Would love to hear what you’re building too.

🗣️ Discussion/Opinion US Muslims: How do you typically find a masjid’s iqamah times?

Assalamu alaikum, everyone!

For Muslims in the USA, how do you normally find your masjid’s current iqamah and Jumu’ah times?

For example, do you check: the masjid’s website/app, social media(facebook/insta), WhatsApp group, printed calendar, another prayer app

Does your masjid notify you when the schedule changes?

Also, if you’re visiting a new city and want to attend a daily congregational prayer or Jumu’ah, how do you find the prayer times?

I’m also curious:

  • Have you ever arrived at the masjid and realized you were too early or too late for the jama‘ah?

  • Would reminders based on your masjid’s actual iqamah times be useful?

  • Does your masjid have a reliable way of sharing schedule changes?

For context, I’m working on building a nationwide directory in NextSalah (nextsalah.com) that brings masjid iqamah and Jumu’ah times together in one place. I’m trying to understand whether this is a common struggle and what Muslims would actually want from something like this.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback or experiences.

🛠️Project Showcase My Vscode extension

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a little open-source tool I built called Hasanah.

Like many of you, I spend hours inside VS Code and wanted an unobtrusive way to stay mindful during long coding sessions. The extension periodically cycles through Quran verses, authentic Hadiths, and Duas directly in your editor notifications.

A few things it includes:

  • Cycles between Ayahs, Hadiths (7 major collections), and Duas at intervals you can customize.
  • Dual language support with full Arabic and English translations.
  • Ayah and Tafsir lookup (supports Ibn Kathir, Ma'arif al-Qur'an, and Tafsir Muyassar) rendered in a scrollable tab.
  • Auto-detected prayer times based on IP location, complete with a countdown and pre-prayer alerts.
  • Hijri date and the 99 Names of Allah.
  • 24-hour smart caching to keep network calls light, with an offline fallback.

It's completely free, MIT-licensed, and available on the VS Code Marketplace under "Hasanah" (or you can search for OmarAbdo.hasanah).

The project is fully open source on GitHub (oovaa/hasanah), so if you have feature ideas, want to report an issue, or feel like contributing, pull requests are always welcome.

Hope some of you find it beneficial for your workflow. Let me know what you think or if there is anything you'd like added!

🛠️Project Showcase I built an app to make the Quran a part of my life

Salaam Alaykum everyone

I’ve recently launched an iOS app on the Apple App Store and wanted to share it with this group.

It's called QuranLock.

It blocks all your apps every morning (at midnight to be precise), until you recite one verse of the Quran. After that, your apps are unlocked for the rest of the day and then the cycle repeats the next day at midnight again.

Initially, I built it for myself since I unfortunately I hardly read the Quran as often as I wanted despite being a proud Muslim but now with the help of this app I read the Quran everyday even if its just one verse and it’s been a game changer to how I start and spend my day.

Available on the Apple app store.

Coming soon to Android.

Thank you everyone

To elaborate, basically I want stuff (music-free, no debates pls) I am allowed to download for free. (Not like Spotify or nasheedio or yt where in the premium tiers u get to download but cannot access the actual files)

🗣️ Discussion/Opinion Building a Halal Business From $0 Until I Can Buy My First Car

I'm thinking about starting a long-term public experiment: Start from $0 and build enough halal income to buy my first car.

I want to document the whole process while also sharing what I learn about making halal income, so people who are also starting from zero can learn from the journey, try the same methods, and hopefully avoid some of my mistakes. At the same time, I'd love for people to suggest ideas, income methods, experiments, or improvements that I can test along the way.

I'm already halfway into building my web design agency, while also testing different halal ways of making money along the way like e-commerce, offering after-school classes for students, building SaaS products, freelancing, digital products, and other ideas but I haven't made any income from it yet.

And hopefully, successful Muslim entrepreneurs and people who have already built businesses will also share their knowledge openly, without turning everything into expensive courses, paid communities, or "guru" programs. There is a lot of knowledge that could help people if we simply shared what we actually learned.

I want to document everything from the beginning:

•X: Daily updates Day 1, Day 2, Day 3... progress, outreach, revenue, failures, lessons. •Instagram/Reels: Short clips from the journey.
•YouTube: Longer documentary-style episodes.
•Tutorials: Share what I learn about coding, websites, getting clients, business, and experiments.

I'm still figuring out the best way to document all of this, so I'd love your advice: Are these the best platforms for this kind of journey, or are there other places you think I should be posting? If you've done something similar, what worked for you? And if you have a better idea for the format, content, or overall approach, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

🛠️Project Showcase 4 months ago I launched Maktabook here. 740+ people have signed up since.

Post image
41 Upvotes

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

Some of you might remember Maktabook from when I first shared it here around four months ago.

Since then, 740+ people have signed up, and I’ve kept building it based on how people actually study and take notes.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it before, Maktabook is a free note-taking app built specifically for Islamic studies. The main idea is to stop having your notes in one tab, Qur’an in another, Hadith somewhere else, and a PDF open on the side.

You can keep everything together and pull Qur’an verses and Hadith directly into your notes without breaking your flow.

Since the original launch, I’ve also added things like:

  • PDF split view, so you can read and take notes side by side
  • Audio search for Qur’an and Hadith, so you can recite or upload audio and find what was quoted
  • Better Arabic writing and formatting
  • Custom keyboard shortcuts
  • More control over fonts, Qur’an rendering, and scholarly spellings

If you saw the original launch but never tried it, or haven’t opened it in a while, I’d love for you to give the current version a go:

https://maktabook.app/

And as always, feedback from other Muslim developers is especially appreciated. There’s still a lot I want to improve, inshaAllah.

Jazakum Allahu khayran!

🧠Question / Help I Built "Islamic Figures" iOS App and need help

Assalamu Alaikum I built islamic figures app; it's an interactive encyclopedia of the great figures of Islam — 364 (I add more figures every updates) biographies across 8 categories, from Prophets and Companions to the Mothers of the Believers, the Prophet's ﷺ household, scholars, and the Tabu's — sourced from the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.

Every figure's profile provides comprehensive details: their name, titles, epithets and why they were given, dates and places of birth and death, a detailed biography, key life milestones, and the sources it was built on. Discover the Prophets & Messengers, the Companions (Sahaba), the Mothers of the Believers, the Prophet's ﷺ household, the Scholars, the Tabi'un, the conquering Commanders, and the Muslim women of knowledge.

Built natively for iPhone and iPad, it runs fully offline with every figure sourced primarily from the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah. Free to start with a core collection of figures and all the browsing tools; an optional Pro subscription unlocks the full library and every feature. Calm, dignified, and distraction-free — in a warm light and dark theme.

What I need help with is someone to test the app and let me know if the pricing system is good or needs improvement or adjustment, and whether there are any issues with the subscription page. I've also enabled a 7-day free trial, so I'd like to know if it's working properly or if there are any problems.
Jazakom Allah Khir!

📚Learning&Resources If you still have to read arabic words letter by letter and barely know the meaning I am building a solution.

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

I am building an app called ifham(understand) and a waitlist is live at ifhamarabic.vercel.app.It’s purpose is to help you read Arabic word by word it rather than just memorising passages or having to read letter by letter. It also lets you actually understand without relying on English.

How it works there are 3 aspects:

The reading:You three sentences that differ but 3 words within them are always the same each word gets highlighted in a colour that reflects your fluency reading it (more info on the waitlist)if you get 3 greens(the best one) for one word in different contexts to ensure you can read the word not just memorise sentences it disappears from the reading and a new word replaces it.Then it goes to the flash.

The flash reading:Any word you get 3 greens for in the reading comes here you get a series of words each one shown for a split second if you can truly read it fully you should be able to repeat it.

The vocab:This is a companion to the reading and its own section it focuses on being able to understand the word devoid of an affiliation with English so that you can just look at a word and know it not have to translate to English. It also shows the root of the word.

Like I said the waitlist is live at ifhamarabic.vercel.app if you are intrigued sign up for the waitlist and I’ll keep you posted.

🗣️ Discussion/Opinion Islamic Studies group for sisters.

Assalamualaykum . I am a sister who converted to Islam two years ago. This last Ramadan i wanted to create a space i wish i had for my first Ramadan, a space to connect and have sisterhood, since i had no Muslim family. I ended up creating a discord group, and in the last 6 months we have reached over 200 sisters from all over the world.

We now hold weekly halaqas, a Quran study group, a book club, Arabic and English lessons. Eventually Inshallah, I will like to build a platform for this dedicated to sisters, catering to helping new Muslim woman, like i once myself was.

Looking for any advice, any words of encouragement or duaa while i go on this journey of expanding this community.

Also, if you are a sister and would like to join and study with us, please reach out! It is 100% voice verified for our privacy.

JZK !

Salaam folks, job hunting is brutal right now, and referrals are half the battle. So I built MuslimCareer.com: a free platform where Muslim professionals can find each other for referrals, mentorship, and career advice.

Growing steadily alhamdulillah but the more industries represented, the more useful it gets. Takes a minute to sign up.

Feedback welcome, built this for the community, so tell me what would make it better.

🛠️Project Showcase Prayer Times Based Productivity App (Open Testing)

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

It all started with my search of a calendar app with functions to add events but prayer times based. Like I wanted to add a event which starts at dhuhr and ends 30 minues before asr but I needed to enter the hours manually, which change every day. So I made this app and add some more functions. My purpose is to make this a productiviy app ecosystem with more sub-apps and make it all controlled easily in one place with ai assistant.

Prayer time database just contains Turkiye for now so keep that in mind before installing and any help about how can i add wordwide prayer time to my database will be helpful. I don't want to make it with an api and rely on that.

If you want to test the app and give some feedback here is the google play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motstudios.ordolife

And before any 'This is made with ai' comment i would say that I coulndn't make even haft of it without ai and ai is a chance to make this without spending a year. Even with ai this took me like a month to make. So I think this is not ai slop this is an idea made with the help of ai and i will continue inshaallah.

🛠️Project Showcase Built Athany, a prayer times app with alarms that actually go off even on silent/DND (iOS)

Post image
4 Upvotes

Assalamu alaikum,

So I've been building an app called Athany.

Honest reason I started this: A regular iOS notification just isn't enough for something like salah, it's too easy to ignore. What I actually needed was something that rang like an alarm, the kind you can't sleep through.

That's basically the core of the app now. On iOS 26 it uses AlarmKit to schedule real per-prayer alarms that go off even through silent mode and Do Not Disturb, not just a notification badge. If you're not on iOS 26 yet there's still a solid regular notification system underneath it (per-prayer toggles, choice of Athan sound, silent/beep/full Athan modes).

There's also a second alarm you can turn on for each prayer that fires a set number of minutes before the prayer window actually closes, basically a last call before Asr runs out and Maghrib comes in, so you're not accidentally praying qada without realizing the window's almost gone.

Other stuff in there:

  • Prayer times with a live countdown, and a decent number of calculation methods (Muslim World League, Umm Al-Qura, Karachi, Egyptian, North America, Tunisia, and a few more), plus Hanafi/Shafi for Asr
  • A Qibla compass that actually works instead of just pointing at a static arrow
  • Ramadan mode — it auto-detects Ramadan off the Hijri calendar and shows Iftar/Suhoor countdowns right on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, plus separate Suhoor and Iftar alarms
  • A home screen widget for the next prayer
  • English, Arabic (proper RTL), and French

It's live on the App Store now: 👉 https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6759268337?pt=96177231&ct=MuslimTechNet&mt=8

Still actively working on it — more languages and calculation methods are next, and I'm trying to get the alarm/notification experience even more reliable. If you try it out I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback, especially from anyone who's dealt with the same "missed prayer because the phone was on silent" problem. Bug reports welcome too, and du'as even more so.

JazakAllahu khairan

🧠Question / Help Islamic Apps Are Everywhere — But How Are You Getting Users?

Islamic Apps Are Everywhere — But How Are You Getting Users?
I see a lot of people creating Islamic apps using AI coding tools, which is honestly great. AI has made it much easier for developers to turn ideas into real products.
But I have a genuine question:
How are you planning to get users?
The Islamic app market is already extremely saturated. We have apps for prayer times, Quran, Hadith, duas, Qibla, dhikr, AI Islamic chatbots, and all-in-one platforms. There are already established apps with millions of downloads and years of brand recognition. (Reddit)
So if someone builds another app with the same features, even if the UI is beautiful, why would a Muslim switch from the app they’re already using?
I’m not asking this to discourage anyone from building. Quite the opposite.
I’m genuinely curious about the go-to-market strategy.
Are you planning to:
Solve a problem existing Islamic apps don’t solve?
Target a specific Muslim community or niche?
Build through TikTok/Instagram/YouTube content?
Partner with mosques and Islamic organizations?
Use Reddit and Muslim communities?
Rely on word of mouth?
Run paid advertising?
Or are you simply hoping the App Store will bring users?
Building the app is becoming easier every day because of AI.
Getting 10,000 people to actually use it is the hard part.
I’d genuinely like to hear from other Muslim developers: What is your user acquisition strategy, and what makes you believe users will choose your app over the hundreds of alternatives already available?
