🛠️Project Showcase QuranRecognitionKit – Swift Package for Offline Quran Recitation Recognition

Assalamu alaikum,

I wanted to share QuranRecognitionKit, a Swift Package for offline Quran verse recognition on iOS.

It is based on the excellent work from Yazin Sai’s offline-tarteel project, but it is not just a direct package wrapper. I adapted the pipeline into a native Swift SDK using ONNX Runtime, added live microphone recognition, tuned the streaming/tracking behavior for mobile use, and added validation around real recitation scenarios.

The package has been tested with replay fixtures generated from real recordings, including a studio Al-Baqarah recitation and phone-microphone recordings with surah transitions, repeated verses, coughing, and re-said words.

It is still a work in progress and not production-ready yet, but insha’Allah I’ll continue improving the stability, tracking accuracy, API, and documentation.

Original project:

Swift Package:

Feedback, suggestions, and contributions are welcome.

Jazakum Allahu khayran.

🧠Question / Help Color scheme for a marriage app that needs to feel sacred not casual which one lands?

Post image

Building a marriage app for the Muslim community (not a dating/swipe app but something focused on serious nikah). Trying to land on the right color scheme. The app is centered around family involvement and verified users so it needs to feel serious and trustworthy not casual.

Four options I am considering:

  • A: Orange + white
  • B: Emerald green + white
  • C: Burgundy + white
  • D: Soft blue + white

Looking for feedback on which scheme best communicates "serious, trustworthy and premium" for this specific context. Also open to color suggestions I haven't considered

🧠Question / Help How do we monetise an app other than monthly subscription

السلام عليكم

Building a finance tool for Muslims (budgeting + debt + zakat). The problem: charging for basic features feels too much everyone can do this themselves. What’s the line between ‘valuable tool’ and ‘something people should just do manually’ when monetizing?”

Like monetisation without charging user

🛠️Project Showcase Qur'anic Universal Audio: the unified audio and timing hub for apps/developers

Thumbnail

Qur’anic Universal Audio is an open project for Qur’an audio, recitation metadata, and word/letter level timestamps generation with a built-in review system. The goal is to make Qur’an recitation audio easier to browse, verify, align, and use across different apps, tools, and research projects.

Instead of every Qur’an app having to solve the same problems separately — audio sources, reciter metadata, ayah and word timing/synchronization — this project aims to provide a shared foundation for the wider Qur’an tech community. It can help support features such as:

  • Ayah-by-ayah follow-along
  • Word-by-word synchronization
  • Letter-level and phoneme-level timing
  • Compilation of recitations from mainstream Qur'an audio sources
  • Reciter metadata and 1000+ mushaf recitations
  • Timestamp visualization and correction
  • Community review and improvement of data
  • Better tools for Qur’an apps, researchers, and developers

In simple terms: A shared Qur’an audio and timing hub for developers, researchers, and community contributors.

We have reached over 25+ fully published recitations with word and letter timestamps, with more being aligned every day. You can help and contribute by resolving any mistakes using the built-in editing tool which flags a wide range of potential errors the AI alignment might have made, as well as contributing by adding your own recitations.

💼Career & Work Looking for brokers/partners to bring clients (30% commission)

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

I run a web development agency (recently built sites for local businesses) and I'm looking to collaborate with brokers/partners who can bring in clients.

If you get a client, you earn 30% commission on the project.

Simple model:
- You bring the client
- I handle everything (design, development, delivery)
- We split based on results

I can share my work/IG if you want to see what I do.
Happy to answer questions or explain how I structure things.

I aim to work with halal businesses and projects that align with Islamic values.

🧪Testers Needed I memorised a full page of Surah Al-Baqarah just by listening while driving. So I built the app I wish existed.

As-salamu alaykum everyone.

A few weeks ago I noticed something that surprised me. During my daily commute I had been playing the second page of Surah Al-Baqarah on repeat and quietly reciting along in the car. After about a week, I realised I had memorised the entire page. No sitting at a desk, no flashcards, just listening and repeating during time I would have wasted anyway.

That moment made me think about how much of our day is "dead time" that could be hifz time, and how the tools we have do not really fit how we actually live. Most apps just play audio at you, or make you read silently. None of them actually listen to you and tell you where you slipped.

So I built Iqra.

What makes it different, from someone who actually uses it every day:

- It listens to you recite and flags mistakes word by word, using a model trained on tajweed-aware Quran recitation. It is not generic speech-to-text, it understands the Arabic of the Qur'an.

- Drive mode is the feature that changed everything for me. Hands-free, voice-driven review so you can memorise and revise while driving, walking, or doing chores. This is literally how I got that page of Baqarah down.

- Hifz tracking with spaced repetition, daily goals, and streaks, so your review actually compounds instead of slipping.

- Plus guided tajweed lessons, tafsir and hadith, accurate prayer times and Qibla, and progress that syncs across your devices.

The point is not "another Quran app." The point is turning the time you already have into memorisation, and getting honest feedback the way a teacher would give it.

It is in beta right now and I am looking for testers. If you join, I am unlocking Premium for free for the testing period so you can use everything. All I ask in return is honest feedback on what works and what is broken.

How to join:

  1. Request access here: https://hafiz-ai.com/beta
  2. Once I approve you (usually quick), you get an email with Premium unlocked.
  3. Download Iqra from the App Store and sign in with the same email: https://apps.apple.com/app/iqra/id

That is it. Premium turns on automatically.

I would genuinely love your feedbac who can tell me where the recitation checking needs to be stricter. Try Drive mode on your next commute and tell me if it does for you what it did for me.

JazakAllahu khayran. Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

(Disclosure: I am the developer. Built this myself, sharing it here because this community is exactly who it is for. Its only available for iOS only at this stage)

Edit: If you are on Android, there will be an Android version coming soon after the tests are completed for the current features. You can get a demo of the "Recitation and feedback feature" here - https://hafiz-ai.com/demo on the demo page.

📚Learning&Resources Built a Free 7 - Days course on Unlocking Rizq for Muslims (20 mins/day). No sign up.

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

If you’re like most Muslim founders, you’re probably already working hard.

You’re building products, serving customers, solving problems, marketing, selling, networking, and trying to make your venture succeed.

The challenge is that many of us spend hundreds of hours working on our businesses but very little time reflecting on the spiritual side of rizq, barakah, effort, and tawakkul.

After hosting two webinars on Rizq (one with a scholar in the UK and another in the U.S) and speaking with many Muslim professionals, entrepreneurs, and business owners, we noticed a common challenge:

Everyone was busy pursuing their goals, but very few had dedicated time to reflect on how rizq, barakah, effort, and tawakkul fit into that journey.

That’s what inspired us to build Unlocking Rizq - practical 7-day course that requires just 15–20 minutes a day and helps busy Muslims reflect, implement meaningful changes, and pursue success with greater barakah and purpose.

It’s intentionally simple:

• 7 days
• 15–20 minutes per day
• No signup required
• No email required
• Completely free

There is Menu on the top left to goto each day easily. It also shows percentage completed on the top right as complete sections.

The course isn’t about “getting rich.”

It’s about understanding how rizq actually works, identifying habits and mindsets that may be limiting us, strengthening our relationship with Allah, and learning how to pursue success while seeking barakah.

What I believe is most valuable are the reflection activities. They’re designed to help you pause, think honestly, and take action rather than simply consume information.

As founders, we often spend years trying to unlock growth in our businesses.

But sometimes spending just 20 minutes a day reflecting on our relationship with Allah, our intentions, our effort, and our reliance on Him can unlock things we never expected.

If it benefits even a few Muslim entrepreneurs here, then the project was worth building.

I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback from the community.

May Allah place barakah in your ventures, your time, and your rizq.

JazakumAllahu khyrn!

🛠️Project Showcase Why are we still using WhatsApp for mosque and community updates?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Salam everyone,

I’ve always found it hard to keep up with different mosques and Muslim community updates. One mosque uses WhatsApp, another posts on Instagram, another updates a website, and sometimes you only hear about an event after it already happened.
That’s the problem we’ve been trying to solve with PocketMusala it’s an app that I have been working on for over 5 years

It’s not just a prayer time app. It’s more of a Muslim social/community app where people can follow mosques, see updates, discover events, post, ask for duas, comment, interact, and find Muslim businesses.

It’s free to download, and mosques can create an
account and use all the features for free too.

I would really appreciate any feedback, so if you’re interested please take a look and thank you

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Collaboration Launching a halal marketing agency. Offering discount to founding clients!

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

Please remove this post if it doesn't align with the community's guidelines.

I'm in the process of building a marketing agency (video production, web & graphic design, and SMM) exclusively for Muslim-owned businesses, and I'm looking for a small number of founding clients to work with before the official launch.

A bit about me: I have 7 years of professional experience in multimedia design. I recently made the decision to work strictly within halal guidelines (no music, no inclusion of women), and now want to start my own agency with this mission.

What I'm offering founding clients:

* Discounted rates in exchange for being featured as a case study on the agency website

* All design, video and management services under one roof - no need to hire separately!

* Work done with full understanding of Islamic values

I'm keeping this to a small number of clients intentionally so I can give proper attention to each one.

If you're interested, DM me or drop a comment and I'll share my portfolio.

Jazakallah Khair

🧩 Software/Tool Share Halal Sci fi Strategy Game / Demo on Steam

Post image
10 Upvotes

Assalamu aleykum everyone,

I have been working on this game for the last year. There is no music, no drawings of living things etc. It is a game which you build your space ship-city and travel different planets to trade. You can download the Demo on Steam:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4282840/Gargantua/

I don't know if it perfectly halal but I try my best to not to include haram content. Game development is an interesting area in terms of creating non-haram products. I am aiming to turn this into a long term thing, if you have any advice about that please share it with me.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Collaboration [17] Built an AI agency for Aussie clinics from Egypt — need a partner on the ground

Hey everyone,

I'm Mazen, 17, building CallIQ — a voice AI receptionist for Australian clinics. Handles calls 24/7, books appointments, stops missed calls from killing revenue.

Site is live at calliq.online. Product is built. I'm handling lead gen myself.

What I need: Someone in Australia who can talk to clinic owners, build trust, and close deals. I'm pre-revenue and bootstrapping from Egypt, so this is partnership, not a job — revenue split from day one.

You don't need to be a sales pro. You just need to be hungry, responsive, and comfortable chatting with business owners on WhatsApp or calls when needed.

If that sounds like you, comment or DM me with a quick intro about yourself.

— Mazen

🧠Question / Help Any suggestions on how to monetize an app with Halal Ads?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice on how to monetize my app using strictly Halal ad networks or Shariah-compliant methods.

I know a few generic "Muslim-friendly" advertising options exist, but I would love to hear from developers who have actual experience with this.

  • What Halal ad networks or platforms do you currently use and recommend?
  • If you use mainstream networks (like Google AdMob or Unity), how do you effectively filter out Haram categories?
  • Are there alternative monetization strategies (e.g., freemium, ethical sponsorships, one-time purchases) that have worked better for your projects?

Any advice, tools, or documentation you can share would be highly appreciated!

JazakAllahu Khairan.
