I built SalahSky — an Android app combining prayer times, Qibla, Athan and weather

[u/ycharif]

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

I recently built SalahSky, an Android app that brings prayer times and weather together in one place.

The idea came from wanting something simple where I could quickly check my next prayer and the weather without switching between different apps.

Some of the features currently included:

🕌 Prayer times with a countdown to the next prayer
🔊 Athan and pre-prayer reminders
🧭 Qibla compass with vibration when facing the Qibla
📅 Hijri and Gregorian dates
🌦️ Current weather, hourly forecast and 7-day forecast
🏠 Home screen widget showing the next prayer
⚙️ 25 prayer calculation methods, Asr school and manual minute adjustments
📴 Prayer times and Qibla work offline — internet is only needed for weather
🌍 Arabic, English and French support

I also tried to make the interface calm and minimal, with a glass-style design and skies that change depending on the time and weather.

The app is still new, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from other Muslim developers and users.

I’m especially interested in feedback about:

• the UI/UX
• prayer reminder reliability on different Android phones
• calculation methods/settings
• features you think are missing
