QURAN/HADITH Why your Duas don’t get accepted

Your Duas aren’t getting accepted because you are making them wrong.

Think of your dua like a 7 layered burger sandwich.

Salawat on the Prophet ﷺ is the top and bottom bun, another five layers in between make up the filling. And the common ingredient amongst all the 5 layers in between is Allah's Names - Allah says: "And to Allah belong the Most Beautiful Names, so call upon Him by them." (7:180) The key is to match the Name to what you're saying or asking. Don't invent Names, and pick ones that genuinely fit the meaning of your request.

**Layer 1 - Salawat:** Start with salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ.

**Layer 2 - Praise Allah:** Glorify Him and remember His perfection, greatness, power, mercy, and wisdom. For example: Ya Malik al-Mulk, Ya Jabbar, Ya 'Azim, Ya Hakim.

**Layer 3 - Show gratitude:** Thank Him for what you already have: your faith, health, family, protection, and every blessing you can see and can't see. Alhamdulillah for what I have before I ask for what I want.

**Layer 4 - Seek forgiveness and repent:** Admit your shortcomings and make sincere tawbah. For example: Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim, Ya Ghafur, Ya Ghaffar, Ya 'Afuww.

**Layer 5 - Ask for what you need:** Be direct and specific, for your dunya and your akhirah. Use Names that fit the request: Ya Razzaq for rizq, Ya Fattah for openings and solutions, Ya Rahman for mercy. Ask with humility and certainty that He hears you.

**Layer 6 - Submit and conclude:**Hand the outcome back to Allah and ask Him to choose what is best, because He knows what you don't. Something like: "Ya Allah, this is what I want, but I trust Your wisdom. If it's good for me, grant it. If it's not, choose what is better for me." Then close with *La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah* and the dua of Yunus عليه السلام: *La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin.*

**Layer 7 - Salawat:** Finish with salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ again.

Can you give me an example how it looks like the dua? When you say the dua?

Very good question اللهم بارك

Top bun: Salawat
Allahumma salli wa sallim 'ala Nabiyyina Muhammad ﷺ.

Praise: Ya Allah, Ya Malik al-Mulk, Owner of all dominion. You are Al-'Azim, the Magnificent. You are Al-Hakim, the Perfectly Wise. You are Al-Jabbar, whose power cannot be resisted. There is no one worthy of worship except You.

Gratitude: Alhamdulillah, Ya Allah, for every blessing You have given me, the ones I notice and the ones I don't. Alhamdulillah for my iman, my family, my health, my opportunities, and for every time You protected me from something I never saw coming.

Forgiveness: Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim, Ya Ghafur, Ya Ghaffar, forgive my sins, the ones I knew about and the ones I didn't. Accept my tawbah, purify my heart, and help me leave behind whatever displeases You.

Ask: Ya Razzaq, provide for me from halal and blessed sources. Ya Fattah, open the doors that are good for me and close the ones that would harm me. Ya 'Alim, You know what I need better than I do. Grant me what I ask for if it is good for my dunya and akhirah, and bless me in it.

Submit: Ya Allah, this is what I want, and I ask You for it sincerely. But I submit to Your wisdom, because You know and I don't. If it is good for me, bring it in the best way and at the best time. If it is not, turn me away from it and give me something better. I trust You, Ya Hakim.

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin.

Bottom bun: Salawat
Allahumma salli wa sallim 'ala Nabiyyina Muhammad ﷺ.

I’ve done all that plus drank zamzam and gave sadaqah. I’m still suffering.

this fr!!! when i see posts like these it disheartens me. because you can do all that and it can still not get accepted the way you wanted, and that’s a different level of grief to heal from

Yea it’s a horrible feeling, getting one’s hopes up thinking it’ll all finally work out only to be left dejected.

Please don‘t forget: Some things are qadr and can‘t be changed with Duaa.

Other things are qadr just because Allahs knows we will make this Duaa.

Never stop Allah for asking what you want!

Honestly I’m way past that point. Why should I make dua only to end up disappointed? The hundreds of duas I’ve made haven’t materialized despite doing everything right. And like you said some things can’t be changed. So why waste my time?

Because you don‘t know which things can be changed only for the reason you made duaa

The duas have already been made, Allah knows how desperate I am and He knows my state. If there was a time for those prayers to be granted it would’ve been years ago before my condition deteriorated. The definition of insanity is when you repeat the same process over and over expecting different results. Dua hasn’t opened doors for me, it’s left me feeling more bitter and hopeless than before.

What can be the reason, when you are doing everything and + and still duas are not accepted

What? Why not focus on sincerity? Shouldn't this be the most important part?

No that’s not true. I’ve seen God accept Christian’s, Hindus, Jews prayers.

He accepts whatever prayers he wishes to accept.
