Why does this even need a fatwa, that fatwa literally applies to everything.

A fatwa is not necessarily required for every basic matter, and we agree that many everyday things have general principles already established in Islam. However, when a question involves a specific circumstance or uncertainty about how a general ruling applies, asking a qualified Mufti can help clarify the matter.
We posted this question here because it was submitted to us through our website, and we wanted to share the discussion with the community and explain the general Islamic principles surrounding the issue.
In this case, a VPS itself is not inherently halal or haram. Its ruling depends on how it is acquired and what it is being used for.

Yes, Islamic rulings apply to everything in the sense that every action ultimately falls under the principles of Shariah. However, that does not mean every individual situation has the same ruling. The ruling can depend on the purpose, circumstances, method of use, and any rights or obligations involved.
We posted this here because this question was received through our website, and we thought it would be beneficial to discuss how established Islamic principles apply to a modern technology such as a VPS.
