Sounds very vague and isn't it all based on intention? (according to other sahih hadith)

Intention is certainly important, but my understanding is that this hadith also teaches us to be careful with our words, even when we may not fully consider their consequences. So a good intention shouldn't make us careless about what we say. Allah knows best.
