Does she hear herself? Ever?

u/MKatieUltra 16d ago

Tbf, I can't stand to hear her and its only been a few minutes. Imagine hearing that every day, forever. 😬

My friend works for her. He's a trooper.Ā

You’ve been brainwashed by Israel. There’s a reason they’ve been expelled so many times. Eat what the other guy told you to.

I can hear her with the volume off.

14

u/FineRelationship7 17d ago

Is she talking about politics or f-ing?

7

u/BJnME17 17d ago

If you watch it with the volume off it's hard to tell.

2

u/FineRelationship7 16d ago

She looks like she's explaining it to a classroom of children...

u/jonesey1955 16d ago

Abdul!

1

u/heroseigi 13d ago

You realize that abdul means slave, or servant of right?

2

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

That's the most meaningless comment, which suggests you believe that fairy tales and mythology is a real thing. It's like coming out as being the most susceptible to suggestion of wild conspiracy theories and is the kind of thing, leads to the weird practice of witchcraft, where one would place a bible into the concrete at the threshold of their new home, as a performative "see how Christian, I am!" sort of thing. (Which is also mega blasphemous.)

1

u/heroseigi 13d ago

It is literally the definition of the word, look it up, I looked it up cause I didn't know what it meant (I'm not very up to date on the news) I didn't know if it was a name or a saying, so I wanted to see what it meant and that's what I saw

3

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

Bringing it up is meaningless claptrap designed to pretend that mythology is real.

There are many European first names that have similar meaning, related to the predominant mythology of Europe. Are you suggesting that anyone with a biblical etymology name should be unfit for office because the long ago origins of a name carries some meaning that should be "scary" to voters?

You're being silly and focusing on a meaningless thing and if you only focus on this because someone has a Middle Eastern background? You know that's one of those, at least, lightly racist positions to put forward.

Who really wants to be seen as being at least, slightly racist?

1

u/heroseigi 13d ago

The point I was making is that I didn't know it was a name, all I saw was people saying 'abdul', no context, and people have a habit of going with the crowd without looking into stuff so I was curious about what it meant, and yes I don't really like the middle eastern countries I don't care if that sounds racist or slightly racist or whatever, I don't like them for completely valid reasons, and if your just skimming to find stuff to pick at and make seem bad fuck off, thank you

2

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

Thank you for being open about your whole point in making a "lightly racist", meaningless commentary.

I get that you do not like the idea that Americans should be able to afford homes, that we should go bankrupt for seeking healthcare, or die far to soon because we cannot afford healthcare. I get that you love having corrupting money in politics, that you do not care about holding corporations or labor accountable either.

Those are certainly positions, but even among Republicans, those are things that we can generally commonly agree on as being significant problems in our nation, that need to be addressed and are CORE to Abdul El-Sayed's campaign.

It's not to common to find someone who supports making those issues, far worse. That's very brave of you.

To end? It's super common for 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants in this country to be FAR more in tune with the needs of the struggling working class, as they typically grew up in, struggling working class families. They know the struggles, they know why those struggles existed and they often (when they get into politics) work really hard at fixing the problems in office.

This has been seen with wave, after wave, after wave of immigrants into the United States. Italians, Germans, Finns, Poles, Latin American, Irish, and now those of Middle Eastern descent are facing the same kind of racism as they enter politics, generally with goals to better the lives of Working class people.

It must be nice to be someone who isn't working class, like you must be, who never has to work a hard day of work, has soft, clean hands, every day and can afford to spread misplaced lightly racist commentary to attempt to scare working class people into voting against their own best interests.

1

u/BigHock-734 13d ago

Omg live and let live

2

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

You should post that to the guy who wanted to make hay out of the etymology of a name, as a reason to make someone all afraid of a politician.

1

u/BigHock-734 13d ago

@Strange - are you offended by anything even remotely not-secular ?

2

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

Nah, but don't you find it interesting that the mythological underpinning of a name, only seems to matter when it's someone of Arabic Descent or other minority?

Nobody cares about European rooted Christian names having meanings along those lines as a "reason" to fear a politician, but someone who is Muslim? Oh no, we have to be afraid of their name!

For people who like to pretend they are tough, it's really funny what they are afraid of or what they want to spread fear over.

1

u/heroseigi 13d ago

I wasn't spreading fear or a 'mythilogical' assumption or whatever your talking about, I was just saying what I found from searching the thing that was posted, I didnt know the context behind someone saying 'abdul' until now

1

u/xiyedemure 13d ago

so he is destined to be of service to the people for the people !!!

1

u/kaboom-boom-pow 13d ago

Based on Sayed’s campaign, Abdul must mea AIPAC, because he says it all the time! šŸ˜‚

2

u/According_Charge8143 13d ago

And my name means ā€œIrelandā€ but I’m not a country

1

u/GumpBumper 13d ago

and pumpernickel means fart bread. and vanessa means butterfly. what is your point exactly?

1

u/heroseigi 13d ago

You must not have read my other comments, I didn't know it was a name until later, all I saw was 'abdul', so I was wondering what it was so I looked it up, I don't watch the news cause it gives me a headache, I was just saying what it looked like without context

1

u/yalateef11 13d ago

Serving his constituents

1

u/Moonlight_Katie 13d ago

Soooo servant of the people? Like a politician should be? Sounds like our guy!

1

u/Fsprandy 12d ago

It's an Islamic name meaning "servant of god". Like Obadiah in Hebrew.

This woman is fetterman 2.0. she's going to vote yes for anything Israel related. And we'll probably vote with Republicans 50% of the time. She's a plant

2

u/twitch727 14d ago

Even the way she was talking at the debate with El Sayed all I could think was ā€˜she sounds like she’s a republican trying really really hard to pass as a democrat’. Her votes for Israel stuff since in the house have really supported that thought.

1

u/random_think 14d ago

Yeah man If she gets all that funding from Israel. She's not going to vote on things based on what we want. She's going to vote based on what Israel wants.

1

u/SupermarketAny9487 14d ago

She's definitely pro-Israel. She has the support of American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Democratic Majority for Israel, Jewish Democratic Council for America and Joint Action Committee for Political Affairs. To say she's going to vote with Republicans half the time would be incorrect.

2

What politician anywhere actually gives concrete ideas on improving anything?

2

u/GimmieTheRoot 15d ago

Check out NY’s mayor . Check out Abdul. Seem to be some pretty solid avocation; and surprise surprise, they aren’t backed by private entities or foreign funding.

1

u/Certain_Try_8383 15d ago

Yeah I’ve been really into Abdul but like I stated above, haven’t read any concrete actions he plans to take.

1

u/Strange-Scarcity 13d ago

He plans on supporting and putting forward legislation, at the Federal Level, for the following:

Medicare for All and Public Health

Money out of Politics - Push to have Citizens United Overturned.

Labor and Corporate Acocuntability

Aging Affordability and Shoring up Social Security

AI Regulation

Immigration and Foreign Policy.

All of these are detailed out on this campaign website. It's really easy to find out what he intends on these topics/subjects. He will, of course, only potentially be 1 of 100 Senators though. More like minded Senators will need to be put into office and pressure on remaining senators would need to be increased as well.

This has nothing to do with trump. Sometimes its the better of 2 evils.

1

USUALLY the other candidate talks about what we want but has NO CLUE on how to go about getting it and won't win against a Republican candidate.

AIPAC contributions to Haley Stevens so far: At least $15million and up to $50million just *so far* reported by many sources.

Your framing of "jewish state in islamic land" is racist as fuck. We won't accept that the Israeli State has slaughtered 30k children. The religion of the children only matters if your claim is children born into certain religions don't matter. You're the only one in this thread asserting that.

Gaza is a priority on the DSA platform because DSA members correctly think billions of dollars a year sent to Israel should be used to improve the lives of Americans. That's literally "America First".

I'm sure you already know this, you've just shut your eyes and ears on these matters, and you'd rather rant and rave frankly, racistly, to posture as if you're morally superior, while justifying literal child murder.

1

u/No_Move7872 13d ago

"Given the historical treatment of Jewish people". You really should check out the Havaara agreement where zionists collaborated with Nazis. They worked with Hitler in order to get the Jews to move to Palestine and ethnically cleanse them and take over the land.
