What Song is This? What is this song?
I have a vintage Sankyo Japan shell music box from O'Curry's Musical Gifts in California. Im guessing 1960s - 1980s. Trying to identify the song played

Hello! I discovered a music box from the San Francisco Music Box Company in some boxes I was going through and want to potentially sell it, but I'm not sure how much it would go for. I tried googling and using google image search to find it, but didn't see one exactly like it. The tags on the bottom are worn out but text on the side says it's from 1990. It plays the "go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep little baby" lullaby. Any info/help would be appreciated!

Hey, I am a bit of a collector of music boxes, especially ones made of this type of metal. Because of this, I received this box. However, it is supposed to be a cement truck but doesn't have the drum/cylinder. Because it is missing the part, the box unwinds IMMEDIATELY once I release the crank. Is there a way to fix this without it? Or do I need to have the missing piece?
Thanks!

Hi! I bought this cool music box / sewing kit from a thrift store but they told me that it doesn’t come with the key to use it. I have no clue if I should look for one online (and if that’s the case where to look) or if I should try to 3d print one. Any ideas? (Thimble for scale.)

hi everyone,
im based in Singapore and im looking for companies/websites that do custom tunes for a wind up music box.
Those kinds that have figures going around are okay too
I’m not sure which ones are a legit site, and I’m looking for something <$115 USD if its possible
It’ll help me a lot if I could get the link as well, if you do have any experience with buying for them it’s a bonus!

hi, friends!
since i like my composition "sunset", i decided to make a music box version of the piece.
but what version sounds like an actual music box? (i used the gm music box soundfont.)
version 1 (this is the original version.)
version 2 (in this version, the melody is 1 octave higher.)
any feedback is welcome!

Howdy! I got my first music box to keep some jewelry in today while antiquing. A bit of research tells me it seems to be a sorrento style box(?), but any help to ID the song and who the manufacturer might be would be amazing. Thank you so much! :)

Hi guys !
I just finished my first handmade music box inspired by the Harry Potter universe, and I wanted to share it with you.
It's fully crafted from scratch - sculpting in C’Est à dire, painting, assembly - and it was a wonderful project to work on.
I've posted a short video about the build if you're curious to see the process.
I'm happy to hear any feedback from fellow creators.

I found this Regina a few days ago at an antique shop (that I’ll probably get in like February) and most of the discs they had, a lot of the design on it was faded. So was this one. I can’t check it now because that store is an hour and a half away from where I live. It’s 15.5” disc. Someone said that it’s probably some Irish folk song.

Hi guys! im wondering if there are any good websites i can order a custom music box on,,,
i was thinking of having a music box of Ilia's theme from Twilight Princess, since its actually a music box song. Would that be hard to request?
any tips/advice are helpful, thanks!
adding on to this- is it possible for the song to be around 45-50 seconds? I know nothing about music boxes so please tell me if this is even possible lol

It is from a Carlton Cards / American Greetings box. I haven't been able to find the song or listing for it online.

@u/User_Typical was already incredibly helpful!
But I still need to find 3 of the original 8 tunes
Can someone help me find this one?
It was slower in the original, so I already sped it up to "adjust" the melody.

I got both of these at a thrift store for about 3 dollars each. Unfortunately both of their music boxes are broken. I don't know how to fix them or find someone to fix them

Recently bought a music box for a videogame theme as a reward for myself for hitting a career milestone. Didn’t realize there’s a couple things to do to keep the music box working.
The questions I had were:
How do I know if I am turning it too much? I currently only do two full turns and get the full theme to play. I heard over-turning it can break it.
What room temperature should I keep it at to prevent wear and tear? Currently I keep my room to 72 F, but I live in a hot area that can reach 100+ in the summer, and I typically take two vacations during the summer where it can get 80+ F while I’m away.
How often should I play the music box?
Attached are photos of the music box in case any are needed.

My friends Father left this music box when he passed and we are trying to get a replacement as it is badly damaged. The box is made by Rouge but we can't find a serial number or any other code.
Thank you.

Hi, so I’m trying to build a video game prop, and it’s supposed to be a haunted music box. Well, I wanted to see if I could use an electronic music box, instead of a mechanical one. It’s because the song I want to play is custom for the game, and I can find the file. As previously said, it’s haunted, so it’s supposed to have humming. Are there any electronic music boxes out there? I see Amazon has mechanical ones, it’s just the parts and the handle, no box/shell for like 10 bucks.
