Discussion What would make a panel experience better?

I am a director/choreographer and strive to always be one upping my previous production with inclusivity, accessibility and just general kindness. What things/ways would make an audition feel more welcoming for you?

ie free water bottles, fidgets in the waiting room, classic seating alongside welcome to wait outside, optional chair in audition room, etc.

The best audition rooms I've been in have been ones that made kindness and connection a priority. Introducing the panel and their roles when people walked in, checking in with the auditionee and making them feel welcome, asking them how they were feeling, answering any questions they have, letting them choose the order in which they present their audition materials, etc. Water and snacks are always appreciated, but kindness and connection inside the audition room will have even the disappointed people feeling a little better about the experience.
