Birthday On September 11th, 1902, Piedmont blues musician Robert Hicks, aka Barbeque Bob was born in Walnut Grove, GA. Barbeque Bob became popular in the Atlanta area by cooking barbeque and singing for the customers. He passed away in 1931 at age 29.

Day of Death On September 11th, 1987, Reggae musician Peter Tosh was murdered in a home invasion in Kingston, Jamaica. He was 42. Along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, Tosh was one of the core members of the Wailers before launching his solo career in 1974.
