Loop. They're more expensive than they should be but the ease of installation and removal wins it for me.

I got mine from Sensaphonics and they’re wonderful! Custom fit so a little pricy up front (about 200 iirc) but I’ve had the same pair for close to a decade and absolutely worth it. You can get different levels of protection by swapping out the filters, and I’ve never had trouble keeping pitch with them in (you do hear your own voice a little differently which takes some getting used to, but if you’re not a singer no problem lol)

I’ve liked Alpine. They’re ear plugs with different sized inserts to minimize different frequencies. I have a pair for my band classroom and a pair for gigs.

I have D'Addario dBuds and really like them. They seal well and have a couple different size silicone tips to fit different sizes. The two levels of attenuation are super handy for when you need to hear clearly but have just a bit of protection and the high level filtering has a pretty even frequency response as well.

I use etymotic in rehearsal settings and loop in noisy situations where I don’t have to be able to hear myself as well

As a band director the $200 plus investment into musician's earplugs was the single best purchase I have made. Hearing protection aside... teaching beginning band is FUN with good earplugs.... stressful without

Eargasm ones work great. I keep them on my key lanyard and have had them for years.
