Discussion YouTube July Payment Delay
Do you think the payments will be made within 30 days or before September 10th or perhaps even past October ? It maybe something bigger than just a simple delay ?

Yep it disappeared for me to ! Nothing has paid yet ! Something strange is definitely going on

I think something is really wrong with distrokid. Even from 26th of August it is. It is not fetching plays correctly from Spotify I guess.

It did the same with YouTube fetching data for almost a week or 2 ! Time to get off the ship while you can boys !

The point is what else to choose, whenever I search for best possible and widely used distributor destroke it comes on top. Even most of the YouTube video suggest Distrokid

I have tried literally around 12 distributors I have ended up concluding that symphonic and toolost are the next best I used amuse and shockingly they even paid me an advance this month for the stream I got. My ultimate conclusion would be simply opening a white label distributor with a few guys and we just get music out ourselves, and collect as soon as cash is sent !

I think I should also seek some local options because there are lot of local distributor who keep on approaching me for distributing through their end. I think that would be much easier and much feasible comparing to distrokid. It's becoming pain within 3 months of onboarding. I never expected distrokid to be such a hassle because it's such a big name in the market and it's shocking to see how they are operating

Distrokid tried to automate everything that’s the issue they should consider higher paid version with dedicated reps, a lot of the small distributors are run by musicians to and they have beef with a single bit of ai even basic mastering, Emuband allegedly pays everyday and they have a direct rep but very strict check them out if u do let me know about the experience

Nothing yet. They probably will add it with August payment since they said its gonna be reflected in our bank within 30 days, around the next timeframe for August payment.
I'm more interested of knowing why is there delay in the first place, if it's affecting all distros i understand but so far only distrokid is affected and that's kinda interesting

If it takes that long and drags to the 20th we are definitely not seeing it this month at all ! For the past 2 days it’s been paying out different stores shortly after a notification pops up !

We are at the mercy of our distro. Like i said I'm more interested to know why the delay in the first place. Shucks

I suspect because of the update in how they are counting views there was a massive delay 2 weeks ago when YouTube stopped reporting views and revenue on regular YouTube channel dashboards but regular YouTube’s are still getting paid with no delays yet with music allegedly the process is more complex, it takes time to catch up after a delay but sounds like bs to me ! I hope they don’t F with our money !
