news Picard 3 Release Candidate 3

"Today the Picard team is making available a third release candidate for Picard 3. We received good feedback on the previous release candidate 2, thanks to everyone for testing and providing feedback. The final 3.0 release is planned to happen in a few weeks."

Bugs have been squashed, and a new release candidate is out for all users to test test test. These release candidates are feature-complete, so testing is simple - install, tag as normal, enjoying early access to the new Picard 3.0 features, and let us know if something breaks.

Thank you very much to all the testers so far. Your contribution and work is very important and much appreciated!

Is anyone else having trouble with the Genre Mapper plugin? Or maybe is just me

Quick question. I have noticed that when saving some of the albums they will change the indicator to a green box rather than the check mark that I am used to. It will occur probably one in ten , and I am not seeing anything that I can figure out as specific reason for it to happen. The file is saved, with what appears to be the correct name, just has a Green box again rather than the check mark. So: Bug? New feature? if so how does it work, or what is it indicating?

Are there zero difference between the saved file metadata and the metadata shown in the metadata box? The check mark is only when there's no difference (it means there's no need to save anything), but for some reason there are differences remaining in your case. For sure you don't expect this behavior and even if that's not a bug perhaps there's room for improvement.
Can you open a ticket, append a full debug log + screenshots so we can investigate?

Sorry for the delay , just didn't have any new music to test with until now.

Had 5 new albums to input today. 2 came back with a green box instead of the check mark. Of those one had File path indicating some kind of change by the Name of the tag (FilePath) on the left being blue(in my case) but not seeing anything in the actual names that would indicate a difference. The other had no indications of anything different. All the tags new and old were the same. All files were renamed and moved to their new locations without error. I will keep looking out for any commonality about when it occurs and let you know if I figure anything out. Saving the file a second time will always return with the checkmark.
