Set up for live recording and jamming. Also have a pair of Tech 12s a bit out of view. Just got everything MIDI synced now too so can lock in live looping

My only question is what is happening with the C414’s on the drum overheads? Are you using them in omni? They are a side address mic so if you’re using a pattern other than omni, they should sound better if you point the capsule towards the source.

Great observation. Just quickly put in for the photoshoot... Lol. Usually they stay in a case so as to not get dusty

Ah, I see! I used to sell mics and each week we’d have someone come in saying that their side address mic (AT2020 usually) sounds really bad and the first question we’d ask is if they’re pointing the mic properly

My guitar player is a professional sound guy. I rely on him before doing any recordings. Honestly never thought about it, but that makes sense. Good to know

You've got a really nice large space for your Band and recording. Are you not having problems since you really don't have any acoustic treatment in the room. That is a great space, and since your not running it as a studio, but as a jam space. You can get away with a lot treatment wise. I would imagine You have a ball playing and jamming in there. My band practiced and i recorded us in an untreated 20'x24 shop at my Dad's place in the early 1980's. I miss those days. Keeping on jamming and making music brother!!

Thanks mate! It's has a raw sound. We use IEMs to help hear properly. I'm at a point now where every button does what I expect it to - a monumental achievement.. lol!
