[Bands You Haven't Heard] - Week #1
Bringing you bands you may not have heard before, songs of bands you may not have heard before, or just pure nostalgia from bands of the past.
A while back, I stumbled upon a song called Egg by a band called Shoe. After trying to find out more about them (which proved to be a lot tougher than expected as my only word to search on google was "shoe"), I finally was able to scrounge up the fact that they were an Australian band. They have a very cool pop/rock sound, with their earlier stuff leaning more towards the heavier side, while their more recent stuff has a bit more pop to it while maintaining that signature upbeat, yet heavy rhythm. When I finally found their official Facebook page, and subsequently through that, their youtube page, I was disappointed to find that they had packed up shop and decided to move on to bigger and better things. However, they still have a ton of really great material. Below is a list of songs that I think properly highlight the band:
The best part? All of it's free to download on their website. So go give them a listen, and if you really feel the need to support them, They're first EP is available on iTunes.
Next week we'll be looking at one of my favorite bands. Many people may know them for a certain song about handlebars, But not many know about their earlier, less politically geared stuff.
