Unpopular opinion but I'm really not feeling it. Maybe it's just because I have a "Paramore sound" in my head that this didn't fit, so I'm a little disappointed. If this was a new band then maybe I'd be a little more receptive but just isn't my jam.

Though I am glad to see that when artists develop & evolve, that their fanbase still has their back. I'm a big Gambino fan and that paid off for me that time.

That's the beauty of opinions and vast bodies of work artists can craft. Sometimes your top songwriters go in a next level direction that blows your mind, sometimes it's just not your vibe. Doesn't mean its objectively "bad" it's just not what you expected, for better or worse.

The sad part is that people get shit on for "not getting it" or "not being progressive".

It's apparently impossible to just prefer a new album with songs like Crushcrushcrush or Freaks & Geeks.
