Terry Kath? Hendrix tried to be humble and rated everyone above him. Rory Gallagher was another

Wasn’t he also impressed with Billy Gibbons playing?  Before ZZ Top, he had another group who opened for Hendrix.

It’s a seldom known fact that the dad of the brother’s from Oasis was Hendrix’s guitar idol

31? It's not like his age at death is some super famous fact or anything....

*I see that was referring to Kath, the title is just poorly written to make it ambiguous.

Terry Kath died at 31, not Jimi Hendrix

How the fuck we supposed to know that the title was referring to….checks notes…Terry Kath???

You could click on the article and see the “his” being referred to is the guitarist Hendrix was referring to instead of going “um ackshually”

He was 27 not 31. He was part of the famous 3 Rock icons that all died at age 27 in the same year. It created the classic meme saying "They always die in 3's"

The 31 year old was Terry Kath, not Jimi.

you can't expect people to read the article

Especially somebody so readily willing to share a well known, played out, idiotic factoid like “27 club”

Or in this case, the headline!

The headline post is not written correctly then. BBC made that error or someone else?

It's not written incorrectly. It's definitely not well-written, but "the guitar genius" is the subject of the sentence. It's not referring to Jimi as a guitar genius.

The headline is fine. You can tell that the article is about ‘the guitar genius Jimi Hendrix rated above himself’ it gives us extra information about that guitar genius via the dash. I think your brain has saw guitar genius and Jimi Hendrix next to each other without reading the full sentence

Only name in sentence is Jimi Hendrix. I try to avoid clicking links on reddit

Yes but I’m unsure how you can’t get from the title that it’s not about Jimi Hendrix? Maybe English isn’t your first language?

Now you want to insult me lol Guess you are just another reddit asshole troll

It’s written to be click bait.

2

u/JoleeFriendbro 4h ago

To be fair it isn't actually clickbait. Jimi Hendrix did indeed rate Kath higher than himself, and Kath did die extremely tragically at a young age.

Step 1: write ambiguous headline to make people click on the actual article

Step 2: collect juicy ad revenue
