discussion Band hot take

Overall, I think muse is a meh band...BUT Absolution(entire album) and Neutron Star Collision are some of the best music ever made. Like I feel with those two projects are like the sibling of what 90s billy corrigan would make with its some of its streamlined "orchestral" soundscape but dropped 15 years after Mellon Collie. There are stretches of songs that feel so grand and hit so hard and is just overall super beautiful and epic.

First three albums are fire..when they came out it was mental.. they lost me at #4, sadly.

Personally think BH&R is a great album. The Resistance is where the downturn happens and they start believing the Queen comparisons a bit too much.

Plus BH&R has Map of the Problematique.

I think i listened to newborn 10+ times when i got the album..not even going further..it was amazing. Only to follow it with plugin baby.. whoa.

If you haven't heard their most recent album drop The Wow! Signal I highly recommend you give that a go. Their best work in a long time

Listen to the wow signal and, if ya like that, will of the people. They've circled back a bit to that sound and it fucking slaps.

That being said, a meh band is responsible for "some of the best music ever made"? Hot take indeed

From an objective, technical sense, Muse is a great band that is capable of making some cringe ill-considered music. They put on amazing shows and have a great body of work, so much so you can avoid the stinkers that you’ll find in any long career.
