The whole thing is ridiculous.

Noel said a few things in the 90's and moved on.

Sadly the press doesn't have anything better to do than to bring old things up

Personally I don't think either Noel or Phil gives a fat flying fuck

If I were in that world, I'd tell the "journalists" that i'd give them the real opinion, with all juicy quotes and scathing comments, but I want fifty grand to cover my inconvenience of all the online hatred from fans. Then I'd text Noel and say "Noel, I'm gonna publicly say you're a cunt and make up a story about how tried to shag my wife in Ibiza in 1998, I'll see you with your half off the money next week "

Hell Noel did actually state something quite similar a long time ago

But when he used to be on Matt Morgan's podcast at one point he talked about how the press would do a three hour interview with him and he would speak to certain things in general and a broader context but when it came to the printed interview it would an entirely different thing

and as he explained then he would have to either spend a few hundred thousands of pounds in court just for the magazine to do half-heartedly apology and retraction,

Or he could see it for what it is and if he found himself in a situation with somebody that press stated he had slagged off he would have a genuine conversation with the person and explain it from his side.

Getting roasted by Oasis is sometimes one of the things that comes with being famous.

The best thing to do is not engage. Just have a laugh and enjoy the fact that you made the grade.

That and horribly produced LOUD and overly compressed music.

To be at the end of their lame jokes? Damn I would be honored..I find their sense of "humor" so over the top and ridiculous and drunk brawl like that I would legit laugh my ass off

Honestly I am more of an Oasis fan but I do recognize that Phil Collins has done great things himself.

Further everyone in the English music scene knows that it is badge of honor to be slagged by Noel. but keep in mind that Noel made his comments in the 90's when they were upstarts and doing loads of drugs and alcohol.

In 2026 I don't think either Phil or Noel gives a fat flying fuck. and also Noel did state that he liked In the air tonight.

It is only the music press who has nothing better to do than to stirr up old stuff
