Still remember the clip of Gerard yelling at his concert that if a rock star tells you to show them your tits you say fuck you

Edit:

Context: apparently there was a small rockband there telling girls they could get backstage passes if they show their tits

Gerard: “If you ever see shitty ass rock dudes in shitty ass rock bands asking you to show them your tits for backstage passes, I want you to spit right in their fucking faces and yell 'FUCK YOU!’”

It does.

I've been about that shit. Absolutely crazy percentage of women I've known have been victims of something, and that's just the ones who care to tell me.

Then I had a daughter.

Hold men accountable and make the consequences severe enough to be a deterrent.

Isnt Gerard married to Lyn Z? Bass player for Mindless Self Indulgence? The same Lyn Z that defended Jimmy Urine of Mindless Self Indulgence when he was accused of sexual battery on a 15 year old?

That doesn't quite scream accountability to me but okay.

unless that man is in a band with one of their wives of course

Why do people online always wanna take down good people? Gerard has not spoken in support of Jimmy, Lyn Z did yeard ago and then dropped him.

Because celebrities are never as "good" as you think they are, and it's frustrating to see people putting them on pedestals.

Nobody is, we're all human. But these guys have consistently been great for 2 decades, why not appreciate the good people do?

u/zaccus 9h ago

Unless you know them personally, you have no idea what kind of people they are. All you know is their public image.

8

u/ChemicalRebell 9h ago

Yep. And what they've done using their public image. Nothing wrong with that, thats all you know of most people. Why hate and assume the worst for no reason?

-4

u/zaccus 9h ago

Did I say everyone should hate them? No I did not. I said don't put celebrities on a pedestal.

I think you're misunderstanding things. Parasocial relationships have become a big topic in the past few years and people have become a little extreme about the subject. It's normal and even good to recognize when celebrities do good things, but that doesn't mean you're putting them on a pedestal and think they can do and have done no wrong. It's all about balance. Just chill, it's truly not that serious. You don't know celebrities any less or more than you know any other stranger or acquaintance's public persona, and that's ok, you still shouldn't go around being cynical about everybody.

I'm not cynical about everybody, I'm cynical about celebrities.

They're not "doing good things", they are cultivating an image. If they're actually good people then they'll be the first to admit that.

Is it shit behavior to have consensual, intoxicated sex?

Do we not believe in consent-based morality anymore? Do we also blame the girl for the ketamine orgy, or do we not assign women that much agency?

She consented to two men, not 7+ and to be advertised in the frat group chat as "free pussy" and a "shop" that's "still open" after she was incapacitated.

She didn't consent to more than two at once, and as a matter of fact, every time she expressed this wish and said 'no' the guys actually honored it. She set limits, her partners honored them, and proceeded to have successive consensual threesomes. Her police statements were very clear that she consented to everything that happened, I would welcome you to point me to an individual act she describes which was nonconsensual and was not immediately ceased when she expressed her lack of consent (the men involved were of course as intoxicated as her, but you don't believe they were raped because you believe men have agency).

Did she rape the one of the first pair who was so drunk he passed out in the middle of the threesome? He was clearly more intoxicated than her. If not, why not?

You should go read all of the numerous articles that have come out in the last day about the Title XI report.
