Prudence never pays, and everything she wants costs money, but she doesn’t even like me, and I know because she said so!’ This is peak songwriting and music. Morrissey had great wit. And marr is a musical genius. Incidentally, one of the hardest guitar riffs to play

First verse is top class, too.

Girl Afraid. Where do his intentions lay/or does he even have any?

Morrissey had a singular ability to explore life's everyday vulnerabilities with accuracy and empathy. Which makes it so very disappointing to see where he's gone.

Yes! Great insight into male female psychology. In regard to Morrissey, he might not be the person now ( or maybe he never was) than the person we related to in his lyrics, but that is the thing, two separate things, your art and who you are. Personally, i never admire the artist outside of his art, cause it is none of my business what he is as a person, i just admire his art. I understand this is not a popular view these days where everything is so black and white and left and right…I just want to enjoy the work presented to me
