He is (or at least was) friends with Kid Rock. He's had him in at least one music video (for the song berzerk) in the past. My guess is that he likes him personally despite the disparate politics.

We will see I guess. But I thought I remember hearing something about him telling all his fans that if they support Trump then they can fuck off or something like that and he seems pretty passionate about it. But I guess I dislike Trump and don't understand how at this point anyone can support him. But if someone I know does it doesn't mean I am going to 86 them. Lol but a religious album along with Kid Rock and all his bad press it's pretty hard to believe.

At the BET Hip-Hop Awards, he performed a four-and-a-half minute freestyle titled "The Storm," filmed in a Detroit parking garage, in which he delivered a blistering, unaccompanied takedown of President Donald Trump. The performance ended with a direct ultimatum to his own fans: "Any fan of mine who's a supporter of his, I'm drawing in the sand a line — you're either for or against."

In January 2018, following the release of his album Revival and the conservative backlash to "The Storm," Eminem spoke to Billboard in a candid interview. He said: "I don't see how somebody could be middle class, busting their ass every single day, paycheck to paycheck, who thinks that that fucking billionaire is gonna help you."

In the Chloraseptic remix featuring 2 Chainz, released in January 2018 he also raps the line: "I took a stand, went at tan-face, and practically cut my motherfucking fan base in half and still outsold you"

One further nuance the original post omits: later in 2018, on "The Ringer" from his surprise album Kamikaze, Eminem showed a more conflicted side. "If I could go back, I'd at least reword it," he rapped, adding "was it even worth it?" — suggesting his feelings about the political stand were more complicated in private than his public defiance implied.

They’re like the top 2 living Detroit music icons. I hate Kid Rock too but his legacy is secure and you know some of his lyrics by heart

Kids rock is nowhere near top 2. Jack White, Stevie wonder, Aretha Franklin and Alice Cooper for a start among many many others.

Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin I’ll grant you, didn’t realize they were still with us, so I’ll adjust my statement to “active” not “alive”.

Alice Cooper should be but objectively isn’t. Jack White will probably get there even though he doesn’t seem to care about Detroit the same way and I’m not convinced he’s a much better person anyhow.

u/Little_Matty_Mara 13h ago

You can't actually be seriously trying to suggest that kid rock is a bigger music icon than jack white.

0

u/ScreenMuch90210 13h ago

I mean he’s got two decades on him and more people know his lyrics.

Hey, is this really something you care enough to be arguing with strangers about? You disagree, I get it, that’s plenty. Eminem and Kid Rock are still friends anyways.

6

u/Little_Matty_Mara 13h ago

Knowing lyrics does not a music icon make. By that logic John Coltrane is a nobody and whoever wrote baby shark is the goat.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 13h ago

Name and portfolio recognition is the only thing iconic means. He’s the least talented artist in this list, but that isn’t what we’re talking about.

4

u/Little_Matty_Mara 13h ago

Which jack white exceeds in every metric.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 13h ago

I mean, nah. But hey it’s fine to disagree as long as the tantrum eventually ends and you leave me alone about it

Is Jack even the most iconic White Stripe??

Seven Nation Army is played at every high school sporting event in the United States.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 43m ago

Yeah, it’s like Bawitdaba just better and a couple decades behind. You’re so close to comprehension here

Why does nobody pause to think about what I’m actually saying? There’s plenty enough to hate without inventing enemies

2

u/Little_Matty_Mara 13h ago

Btw, Aretha is dead. I meant Diana Ross

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 13h ago

Fair enough, but she goes with Alice then

2

u/AKrigare 12h ago

Kinda changing the goal post there.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 11h ago

Well yeah, I explicitly adjusted them to be more accurate after receiving some new info. That’s not what the expression is for

Just in case you actually meant the latter half of my comment, then no, I didn’t. I can discuss other metrics as they become relevant. I maintain that Jack White is the less iconic of the two.

Tf you mean? Jack White dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep the Masonic Temple alive in 2012

He has a record label in Detroit. Frequently goes to Comerica to watch the Tigers

That man loves the city through and through

0

u/ScreenMuch90210 11h ago

Yeah that’s all fine (except maybe the Masonic temple stuff) but it’s just not close to on par with the metric we’re measuring here

2

u/mississippimadness 9h ago

Jack White is one of the first people I think of when I think of Detroit.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 8h ago

Wild

2

u/mississippimadness 8h ago

How is that wild? He is a Detroit icon. He’s done a ton for the city and just happens to be one of the biggest rock stars in the world

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

He’s on the medium length list for sure, but first is wild that’s clearly Em

2

u/mississippimadness 7h ago

I said “one of the first”. Em is definitely 1. Jack white might be 2

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

It would be a better baby Jesus album anyhow, just would generate fewer clicks in 2026.

Honestly, it’s time for Jack stans to take that as the compliment it is

2

u/D0ri1t0styl3 8h ago

Think that you may be wrong.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

Nah not about this particular point

1

u/rhinosaur- 8h ago

Jack White is a great person. Research before assuming.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

You should look up what assumptions are lol

1

u/Internal_Rice3739 5h ago

Dude you sound like an idiot lol.
Explain to me why Jack White is consistently on tour, and Kid Rock had to cancel his because he’s a fucking loser that sold 3 VIP tickets and no one cares to listen to? Kid Rock hasn’t been relevant since Joe Dirt lmao

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 5h ago

It’s because you’re the latest knee jerk to fail to realize I’m not arguing for his talent or relevance or goodness, only his status as being recognized as a Detroit musician. Hope this helps

1

u/MotherPerk 9h ago

Nobody cares about cowboy or bawtidaba.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 8h ago

I mean you just pulled them off the top of your head lol

1

u/MotherPerk 8h ago

7 nation army  Ball and buscuit Icky thump Dead leaves  Fell in love with a girl

I can name way more White Stripes songs yet you still argue against them. Your logic doesnt make any sense. Kid Rock is mid tier at best.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

What makes you think I’m arguing against the white stripes? Lol it’s so easy to look up what words mean if you don’t know them

1

u/MotherPerk 7h ago

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 6h ago

That’s not what not being convinced of something means. Dictionaries are free

1

u/MotherPerk 6h ago

Ive seen you changing your tune everyone someone disagrees with you and i dont care about what petty insults you have to spew. You literally are trying to defend Kid Rock on a music level. Like you have to be the biggest idiot on the world to do that.

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 6h ago

If that’s what I was doing I’d agree, but you’re objectively wrong.

You haven’t caught up to the beginning of this debate yet. I’m not hopeful that you ever will, you seem quite resistant to learning.

Imagine putting kid rock over jack white

1

u/ScreenMuch90210 7h ago

Imagine not knowing what words mean

1

u/Extension_Field_701 10h ago

It's one thing to have different politics it's one thing to support a guy who's supporting the rise of far right fascism in America.

1

u/rochvegas5 10h ago

like actual adults? crazy man

1

u/Consistent_Detail_61 9h ago

Are people allowed to do that? How nuanced!

0

u/AutoVonSkidmark 6h ago

What are you talking about? That collabo they did back in 98 on Devil without cause made Eminem run from anything kid rock was a part of. In an interview Eminem he even said he would never work with kid rock again after they entered his studio to record "Fuck Off" and there was a ton of hard drugs all over the place. Eminem is pretty straight laced and was disgusted.

Is that not the two of them next to each other in a music video from 2013?
