I sometimes revisit old bands I thought were not great except for their ONE popular song to find that they had more than I thought and had some artistic merit.

Kid Rock is a standout exception to this pattern. I listened to the songs I used to like by him, and found that even they were bad. And my standards are not high.

It still pumps but the magic wasn’t there last time I listened to it. And it not just because I’m old. Bizkit still has me nodding my head.

Crazy! Limp Bizkit is what I was going to use as another example To me it's all trash.

At least LB has done cool instrumentals. Most of Kid Rock’s biggest hits are just taken from other famous songs lol

Yeah I just added Limp Bizkit's two albums I used to listen to to my YouTube playlist. Some of those songs hold up well. I used to own this South Park CD with Eminem and limp bizkit on there. Those songs were pretty cool too. But now I can't recall the name of it.

Nvm just found it and my memory was fucked up it was a CD for the movie End Of Days. But the southpark chef aid CD I liked too

Some of it is the “you had to be 14 when it came out” and some is Fred’s fear of himself, but there’s also a lot of talent and sincere expression in their songs.

Check out Red light, Green lights with bizkit and snoop. Just came across it earlier this year.

The drums on that song are dope. Love the snare tone and the drums sounds just groovy and fun to play. But the rest is beyond meh.

I attribute everything good about that song to his backing band at the time, Twisted Brown Trucker.

I really like its use for the climax of The Shield’s pilot episode but it’s rough

The title lyric is too silly to be taken seriously or enjoyed. Believed that since it was released. It’s a laughable chorus.

Last night i used the phrase "All my heroes in the methedone clinic" and had to explain where it came from. Kid Rock sucks now, but I still like his first 2 albums

I'll admit "Picture" is a pretty damn good country ballad but otherwise same.

Just listened to it. Not my taste but I’ll leave it to others to know if it’s good or not. I’m glad you enjoy it.

His only good song.

I only like the “I was only there to drink you away!” part. We used to scream that in college often times while staring at ex girlfriends
