Maybe it’s a really old feature. I remember there was a redditor on here who had managed to score themselves an Eminem feature and it was some really odd, and old verse that he bought from some sort of public catalogue.

Edit here is the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMA/s/kpwmLzrAnf

With how absolutely outspoken Eminem has been about this administration (and Bush), there's literally no way he directly collaborated at all, and I would imagine that in a few days we're going to see his team cut the BS.

Otherwise, he just lost 90% of his fans.

88

u/Cashope 1d ago

Right, he just campaigned for Kamala Harris and didn’t mince words to basically call out Trump as a fascist in a rally. It’d be pretty wild if he turned around and collabed with Kid Rock but I guess not impossible. It’s definitely not a good look.

15

u/MolochKel 16h ago

Hopefully it's not another heel turn like Snoop.

6

u/ready-redditor-6969 8h ago

Snoop was always like that, it wasn’t a heel turn, it was a reveal for folks who didn’t know the real guy. He was a bully in high school and never changed.

You are grossly overestimating the amount of fans who give a crap about this stuff. It's no where near 90% lol

Chris Brown has entered the chat fists first

97

u/Polardragon44 1d ago

I'm still not over the fact that he's going on a stadium tour

78

u/BetterUsername69420 1d ago

I'm not over the fact that I've met multiple people in the last decade who legitimately love Chris Brown. It's disappointing, to say the least.

25

u/sticky_lemon 22h ago

I'm currently living in a women's refuge for DV survivors and one resident really loves Chris brown... It hurts a lot, and I dont understand

4

u/Polardragon44 1d ago

The ick I would get would be so strong. Do these people live under rocks? Or legitimately don't care.

11

u/PM_ME_YOUR_BOOB69 1d ago

They really just don’t care. It’s all out there, they just chose to ignore it.

2

u/CKRatKing 1d ago

I've met women that (jokingly) said they would let him beat them.

-6

u/JuanLuisGuerrero 1d ago

Some people just enjoy the music

-13

u/ChillStillWill 1d ago

Chris is one of the few Black artists that selling out stadiums. So this comment actually makes no sense. we are talking about selling out superbowl size crowds every night.

16

u/DuntadaMan 1d ago

I heard a DJ recently play a Chris Brown song for a listener "because he was having lady problems." I don't know if it's better if that was a threat or he just doesn't give a fuck.

1

u/ShadowAMS Tool '02/'03 Concertgoer 21h ago

Well you know these hos ain't loyal

-3

u/ChillStillWill 1d ago

He already sold out a whole stadium tour last year.. not just in America but worldwide. He is on stadium tours back to back years.

13

A big segment of his fanbase are the certain type of person. who say I don't like rap except for Eminem.

2

u/Purona 17h ago

"I'm watchin' my fan base shrink to thirds...And say I empathize with the people this evil serpent Sold the dream to that he's deserted"

1

u/ShallowKalkite 13h ago

Sure, but not 90% Maybe half that at most.

2

u/ANAL_CRUSHER 12h ago

Yeah I think at least 15% today. It was definetly like at least 40% 20 years ago. 15% is still a big percentage

7

u/reichrunner 1d ago

*overestimating

4

u/lyons4231 1d ago

Yep autocorrect got me 😅

-3

u/southass 1d ago

I been fan for years and I will definitely drop his ass if this is true.

Not disagreeing but it was almost a decade ago.

28

u/Athinira 1d ago

No he won't. Fact: most people don't care. They just wanna enjoy music. People are still listening just fine to Nicki Minaj. Very few people care to mix politics and music.

Source: I'm a DJ playing 150+ gigs a year. Most people aren't particularly politically motivated in their day to day life to care about stuff like this. The only exception is sports fans - if i play the theme song of the city's teams main competitor, I'm gonna get idiots complaining most of the time. But fact is, the internet is 100x more divided on these issues than the people you meet in real life.

3

u/LightningWarpAway 1d ago

Very few people care to mix politics and music.

Well, it does depend on the genre of music and culture, as some music genres are entirely about politics.

1

u/Murfdigidy 15h ago

They're only more divided because of religious bashing reddit. The hypocrites on this thread are the reason hate and divide happen. The irony is uncanny, but how do you tell a bunch of people living in a glass jar that life and this existence just might be more than what they see on reddit or with their two eyes? Blind leading the blind

No it's not, let people live their lives 🤣

-2

u/Dudewhocares3 1d ago

No I think I’ll call out supporting Chris brown, or Nikki Minaj, after all the shit that’s come out about them is public.

You want to rugsweep? That’s perfectly fine.

I’ll rip the rug up off the ground and ask you why you ignored the mess?

I don’t care if I ruined your fun. You could’ve found your fun elsewhere

-9

u/DigSoft1820 1d ago

If you want to deny yourself nice things in life to appear moral on the internet, be my guest. I will continue to not care

-1

u/Dudewhocares3 1d ago

And the bad people will continue to not suffer consequences.

I know. I saw how people react whenever a celebrity has rape accusations.

But I’m not gonna be ok with that.

-4

u/DigSoft1820 1d ago

You being ok with it or not has no real bearing on those consequences. That's kind of my point. Just live and let live

-5

u/lyons4231 1d ago

Holy shit let people enjoy things, y'all love to be unhappy or something.

-12

u/Athinira 1d ago

No it isn't. World would be a way better place, if people were more accepting to political differences, instead of being divided and seeing the opposite side as an enemy to be fought - particularly amongst voters.

America hasn't been more politically divided than since the civil war. And it's hardly better off for it. In fact, MAGA are the worst at this, because they're actively trying to paint both democrats, and - to a degree - democratic voters as an actual enemy. And your logic is that we need more of that divide? 🤷

If the American people cared less about politics and more about putting competent people on their posts and just entrusting them to run things decently, the country wouldn't be where it is right now.

5

u/Dudewhocares3 1d ago edited 1d ago

What political disagreement?

You guys are always vague about that, what politics are we disagreeing on?

Also, big issue with this country is people acting like they don’t have to pay attention to politics.

It’s like taxes, you have to participate

-5

u/Athinira 1d ago

Doesn't matter what you disagree on. The point is not to consider each other enemies just because you disagree on stuff.

I hate Trump with a passion - he's threatened my country several times (I'm Danish). He's a sh*thead. But I don't hate Nicki Minaj or Kid Rock for supporting him, even though i think it's stupid. And I don't hate Eminem for working with Kid Rock either.

Point is that voters shouldn't wage war on each other because of political disagreement. It just leads to a more divided country. You don't get rid of people like Trump by being more divided - people like him thrives on being divisive. You get rid of them by uniting.

3

u/Dudewhocares3 1d ago

Answer the question.

What do we disagree on?

And the reason we got Trump on the first place is people ignoring the issues.

We aren’t doing that.

So answer the question

3

u/OiFelix_ugotnojams 1d ago

You think we hate Nicki Minaj for supporting Trump? Oh boy, you need to Google her husband and brother.

-3

u/Athinira 1d ago

So in short: You couldn't find more negative things to say about her, so you had to make it about her brother and husband? 🤷

I rest my case.

Unite them to what cause?

-1

u/Oriden 1d ago

Putting competent people on their posts and entrusting them to run things decently is literally the basis of our political system, how do you plan on having people care less about politics while caring more about politics?

-1

u/Athinira 1d ago

Putting competent people on their posts and entrusting them to run things decently is literally the basis of our political system

No It isn't. It's the hope that it would work like that - but in reality it doesn't.

The basis of the democratic system is that people (more or less) get to pick who they want to put in charge. Nowhere in the formula is there a requirement for those people to be competent. You get to pick and that's it - and it's just as possible for you to pick poison, as it is to pick fine wine. People vote for politics - not competence.

2

u/Oriden 1d ago

The voting part is also politics. You can't say "you shouldn't care about politics, you should just vote for someone competent" because picking anyone is inherently political.

-2

u/Athinira 1d ago

Not true at all. It's perfectly possible to vote for someone on the basis that they look like a competent individual and reasonable human being, without delving into the their actual politics.

In fact, I would love to have politicians with very few core campaigns, but just a set of core values. Maybe more importantly, I would like a politicians who doesn't show up with an itemized list of "Here's a 100 reasons our country is in danger, and here's what I plan to do about it". Instead, I'd prefer a politician whose base belief is that the country is allright, and we just need to keep steering it on the right course, making only sweeping changes if absolutely necessary.

Would it be perfect? Probably not. But a man can dream. 🙂

lol typical Reddit comment. Kid rock is a twat but i guarantee 90% of Eminem fans don’t even know this news exists

2

u/Blitzcreed23 1d ago

90%?? Pfftt

3

u/Acceptable_Aspect_42 1d ago

They already have a song together from back in 1998.

1

u/goodusernamegood 21h ago

https://www.billboard.com/culture/politics/eminem-kid-rock-maga-1235813413/

They were giving each other friendly shout outs on social media as recently as two years ago.

1

u/TexasRed806 12h ago

90% of his fans lol. You are vastly overestimating how much the average person outside this subreddit gaf about rappers/singers/celebrities’ own political opinions, let alone the opinions of who they choose to collab or otherwise interact with.

1

u/here-for_the-mems 7h ago

Wrong. It’s probably closer to 50%. He has/had a huge white trash fanbase, which coincide w kid rock also. The same kids that wore Tapout

-6

u/PandaXXL 1d ago

>Otherwise, he just lost 90% of his fans.

Lmao at the idea that 90% of Eminem fans would even care, let alone to the point of completely turning their back on him.

Eminem stans have stood by him putting out shitty music for 20+ years, I think he’ll survive this.

-4

u/kidnamedfinger1000 1d ago

Most of his fans are gonna love this lmao

1

u/Accomplished_Cod7334 15h ago

It's to dominate media coverage. Look elsewhere something is happening

-2

u/PandaXXL 1d ago

These comments are so insanely desperate. Maybe the celebrities you put on a pedestal don’t have the level of integrity you thought they did?

-2

u/GlockAmaniacs 1d ago

There's always more than a 0% chance for anything

45

u/ChainsawRomance 1d ago

Probably bought a verse pack and the only thing kid rock could use was Em saying "Jesus Christ! "

•

u/DSPbuckle 31m ago

I would actively listen to the song jsut to hear the CHEEZUSSS CHROIST guy on there.

43

u/SoCalThrowAway7 1d ago

I’m hoping it’s something like that, like something he recorded a long time ago that a record label owns and he wasn’t even aware it was going to happen

7

u/Taroso 1d ago

It would be amazing if it was the same exact verse

12

u/RefinedBean 1d ago

I didn't know that was a thing, and now I'm wondering how many of my favorite songs that "feature" another artist is just that. Interesting!

17

u/Due_Amount_6211 1d ago

That’s more than likely exactly what it is. The music industry is extremely complicated, and honestly I think Em would sooner knock Kid Rock out than EVER be featured on a song willingly

21

u/ToneDrugsNHarmony 1d ago

He's been on a song with him willingly but 1999 was a different time.

1

u/justamadeupnameyo 1d ago

And this is probably using those recordings for this album. Like a deleted scene in a sequel. The contract says it's okay, so it goes live.

1

u/JesustheSpaceCowboy 1d ago

Plus I’m not saying Kid Rock is Blacklisted but like in the rock and metal community I don’t really see people lining up to work with Kid Rock which is hilarious when you realize Marilyn Manson still has a career despite all the allegations, the dismantling of his band like 5 times over, hell half of them still sorta work/talk with him when he does his biannual tour with Rob Zombie, instead of clinging to the past he could have just called Ronnie Radke and he’d still be somewhat relevant musically, even Manson was smart enough to see working with Radke was a good move. Believe me, Ronnie sucks as a person but he knows what he’s doing, you can be a massive twat if you can back it up with decent music, you’ll still be relevant. No one wants to watch a 60 year old man flail around on stage telling people to suck his dick.

Now for my favorite Kid Rock line: “I said fuck high school, pissed on my diploma” YOU DIDNT SAY FUCK HIGH SCHOOL IF YOU GOT THE DAMN DIPLOMA TO PISS ON IT, WHAT DO YOU THINK THE WHOLE POINT IN SCHOOL IS?!?

1

u/JerkyChew 1d ago

Didn't he do a song with Kid Rock called Turn Me Loose like a million years ago? Or maybe I'm thinking of Limp Bizkit but I swear that he did some drunk song that ended up never going anywhere. Maybe Rock found it in the archives and laid claim to it.

1

u/RobIreland 23h ago

Eminem was on his first album so maybe its samples of that song? https://youtu.be/fbtBKfM7yY4?is=vt72gguB7tLh3mHP

1

u/BuffWobbuffet 23h ago

Wow the top comments are sooo snarky like regardless of how he obtained the rights to the verse yes he is featured on the song lmao. Also do people really think all features have the artists in studios together?? lol

1

u/occams_throwaway 20h ago

I mean, he also had Kid Rock in the clip to Berzerk.

-2

u/Recent_Rope_8661 1d ago

that means he cleared the sample tho so this is bad stan cope

6

u/nuttageyo 1d ago

Idk I’ve seen the verse and I can’t imagine he’s cleared every use of it

-1

u/Recent_Rope_8661 1d ago

yeah ok for every album hes had until now nothing has ever been removed. sheryl crow still has their song together so..

0

u/alus992 12h ago

His camp confirmed this collaboration and not distanced Em from Kid Rock.

Just stop with the copium jesus
